MYERS Miss Joyce Myers, age 94, of Laurel Springs, N.C., died Monday, May 29, 2000, in the Wilkes Senior Village in North Wilkesboro. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James and Carolyn Myers of Laurel Springs, N.C.; two grandchildren, Donna Myers of Florida and Kenneth Myers of Statesville, N.C.; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, John Myes of Laurel Springs, N.C., and Robert Myers of Daytona Beach, Fla.; one sister Ruby Kennedy of Delray Beach, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, June 2, 2000, at 11:00 AM at the Laurel Springs Baptist Church with Burial to follow in the church cemetery. Rev Dana Hines will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday evening at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta. The family request that no food be brought to the home.
BLACKBURN Mrs. Ruby Harris Blackburn, age 88, of 179 Combs St., Sparta, N.C., died Thursday afternoon, May 25, 2000, at Sunbridge Healthcare in Sparta. She is survived by a brother, Flake Harris of Burlington, N.C. Several nieces and nephews also survives. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Grandview Memorial Chapel with Burial in the Glade Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral services at the funeral home, and at other times at the home of a Nephew, Billy Harris, 2450 Thurmond Rd., Thurmond, N.C.
BUSIC Mrs. Ava Halsey Busic, age 85, of 1157 Piney Creek School Road, Piney Creek, N.C., died Monday, May 22, 2000, in the Jefferson Care Center in Jefferson, N.C. She was the widow of Owen Clinton Busic. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Wanda Busic of Piney Creek; three daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Franklin Tucker of Laurel Springs, N.C., Katy and Art Osborne of Aiken, S.C., and Barbara and Bob Myers of Clemmons, N.C.; one sister, Ella Jean Perry of Bel Air, Md.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Elk Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Burial in the Piney Creek United Methodist Cemetery. The body will be placed in the Church 30 minutes prior to the funeral services. Elder Curtis Hash will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta and at other times at the Homeplace in Piney Creek. DELP Mr. Earl Estelle Delp, age 89, of Choate Avenue, Sparta, N.C., died Saturday, May 20, 2000, in the Hugh-Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin, N.C. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Carlene and Gene Blevins of Sparta; three granddaughters, Diane Seagle of Boonville, N.C., and Tammy Wyatt and Dwaynna Coleman both of Sparta; two grandsons, Chad Murphy of Sparta, and Tracy Delp of Oceanside, Ca.; five great-grandchildren, Steven Shaw and Christy Shoemaker, both of Boonville, and Justin Wyatt, Jared Wyatt and Jill Wyatt all of Sparta; three great-great- granddaughters; and two brothers, Charlie Delp of Sparta and Cam Delp of Fries, Va. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clyde Billings Delp, and a son, Arnold Delp. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the Grandview Memorial Chapel with Burial in the Sparta Cemetery. Rev. Sam Holder will officiate. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta. REID Mr. Andrew Jackson Reid, Sr., age 89 of 314 New Haven Rd., Sparta, N.C., died Friday afternoon, May 19, 2000, at the Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta. He is survived by his wife, Bruzella Tedder Reid, of the home; three sons, A.J. Reid, Jr, and Ellis Reid, both of Sparta, and Don C. Reid of Pompano Beach, Florida; two daughters, Rebecca June Adams of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and Jackie Reid Vogler of Winston-Salem, N.C.; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Nan Butner of Winston-Salem, N.C. Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the New Haven Church of the Brethren, with Burial in the Church Cemetery. Pastor Randy Shelton will officiate. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the funeral services to lie-in-state. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home, however, friends may call at the home at any time. RICHARDSON Mrs. Stella Mae Dudleson Richardson, age 55, of 4830 Chances Creek Road, Fancy Gap, Va., died Monday, May 8, 2000, at her home. She is survived by her husband, Guy Richardson, of the home; one son, Guy Dewayne Richardson of Fancy Gap, Va.; a granddaughter, Amanda Nicole Richardson of Fancy Gap, Va.; four brothers, Everett Dudleson of Shiloh, Ohio, Ernie Dudleson of Stanton, Ky., Donald Dudleson of Fountain Inn, SC and Buster Dudleson of Hueysville, Ky.; one sister, and Wanda Moore of Martin, Ky. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Blue Ridge Chapel Baptist Church with Burial in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the church Wednesday afternoon where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m.. Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta is in charge of the arrangements.
SIDDEN Mrs. Donna Lou Sidden, age 49, of 4154 Clear Spring Drive, Claremont, N.C., died Monday, May 1, 2000, at her home. She is survived by her husband, Gary L. Sidden of the home; one daughter, Jodi Ann Norcross of Mertztown, Pa.; her father and step-mother, Donald and Dottye Suckstorf of Glenmoore, Pa.; one brother, Donald Suckstorf of Coatsville, Pa.; and three sisters, Barbara A. Hettel of West Chester, Pa., Cheryl L. Carter of Phoenixville, Pa., and Karen L. Baugher of Melvern, Pa. A memorial service will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
