WILLIAMS Mr. James W. (Jim) Williams, age 64, of 1302 Roberts Road Laurel Springs, NC, died Wednesday, December 20, 2000, at his home. He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Lucille Moxley Williams of the home; two sons: Stoney Williams of the home and Junior Williams of Laurel Springs, NC; two daughters: Vickie Williams of Wilkesboro, NC and Susie Miller of China Grove, NC; two brothers: Jack Williams of China Grove, NC and Bobby Williams of Kannapolis, NC. Nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, December 23, 2000, at 2:00 PM at the Shiloh United Methodist church with Burial to follow in the Shiloh Methodist Cemetery. Rev. Dana Hines will officiate. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the Services to lie in state. The family will receive friends Friday evening, December 22, 2000, from 6-8 PM at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta.

MURPHY Mrs. Lucille Ann Gravesen Murphy, age 60, of 47 Lineberry Lane, Sparta, NC, died Wednesday, December 20, 2000, at her home. She is survived by her husband: Bob Murphy, Sr. of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law: Bob Murphy, Jr. and Carla Marie Murphy of Sparta, NC, and Brian Richard Murphy and Angela Beth Murphy of Sparta, NC; one daughter and son-in-law: Sherri Lyn Powell and Joseph W. Powell, III of Pensacola, Fla.; three grandchildren: Christopher Shane Murphy, Chrystal Megan Lyn Powell and Amy Catherine Baker; andone sister: Kay Knapp of Danbury, Ct. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday morning December 22, 2000, at the St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church with Father Mark Lawler officiating. Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta is in charge of the funeral arrangements.

BROOKS Mrs. Lois Myrtle Roberson Brooks, age 65, of 242 Lake Street, Apartment A-5, Sparta, NC, died Monday, December 18, 2000, at her home. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law: Laura and Randy Poole of Ennice, NC; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Bill and Esterlita Foster of Glade Valley, NC and Donald Bozeman of Hickory, NC.; one granddaughter and spouse: Tracy and Bryan Fowlkes of Walnut Cove, NC; two step-grandsons: Alan Perong and Alfredo Perong both of Glade Valley, NC; and one sister-in-law: Judy Roberson of Charlotte, NC. Two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, December 21, 2000, at 11:00 AM at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Burial to follow in the Edmonds Community Cemetery. Rev. Everett Shaw and Elder Don Richardson will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, December 20, 2000, from 7-9 PM at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta.

RICHARDSON Mr. Maness Winford Richardson, age 90, of 68 Wren Way, Sparta, NC, died Monday, December 18, 2000, at his home. He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Harriet Evans Richardson of the home; six nephews: William Richardson, Bobby Richardson and John Richardson all of Bel Air, Md., Clarence Richardson, Jr. of Jarrettsville, Md., Ronald Richardson of Arvado, Colorado and Ray Richardson of Lakewood, Colorado; five nieces: Frances Blevins of Bel Air, Md., Mary Helen Garrett of Forest Hill, Md., Peggy Lovelace of West Jefferson, NC; Kay Ragan of Elkton, Md. and Jennie French of Priest River, Idaho. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, December 21, 2000, at 2:00 PM at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Burial in the Sparta Cemetery. Rev. Hobert Dowell and Rev. Doug Combs will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7-9 PM at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta,NC.

COX Mr. James Willard Cox, age 62, of 3745 New River Parkway, Independence, Va., died Friday, December 15, at his home.He is survived by one daughter: Lisa Cox of Sparta, NC; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Chris Cox of Waynesville, N.C., and Jeff and Reba Cox of Monroe, N.C. three grandchildren: Dylan Cox, Adam and Katelyn Wyatt of Sparta; his mother: Kate Cox of Sparta; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Lillie and Elgin Atwood Janie and Dwayne Murphy Louise and Roger Higgins, all of Sparta; and one brother and sister-in-law: John R. And Evalena Cox of Sparta. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Grandview Memorial Chapel with Burial in the Pleasant Home Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday evening at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta. And at other times at the home of his Mother, Kate Cox, 898 Vox Road, Sparta. Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to the Pleasant Home Cemetery Fund, c/o Rex Todd, 1583 Pleasant Home Church Road, Sparta, N.C. 28675

HASH Mrs. Frances Lucille Paisley Hash, age 83, of 8630 Highway 93, Piney Creek, NC, died Monday, December 11, 2000, in the Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta, NC. She is survived by her husband: Ray H. Hash of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law: Scott and Linda Sue Hash of Stevesville, Montana, Roger A. and Brenda Hash, Larry and Nancy Hash all of Piney Creek, NC; four grandchildren: James, Jon, Regina and Rebecca; two sisters: Charmaine Rector of Radford, Va. and Reka Yeamans of Independence, Va.; three brothers: Alton Paisley and Jack Paisley both of Piney Creek, NC and Larry Paisley of Winston-Salem, NC. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, December 14, 2000, at 11:00 AM at the Piney Creek United Methodist Church with Burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the services to lie in state. Rev. Douglas Halsey and Pastor Susan Sides will officiate. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 PM at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta. DAVIS Mr. William Garnett Davis, age 68, of 1279 Mahogany Rock Road, Sparta, NC, died Monday, December 11, 2000, at his home. He is survived by his wife: Annie Bell Davis of the home; his mother: Ruth Jane Davis of Sparta, NC; four sons: Billy Davis, Roger Lee Davis, Larry Davis and Gary Davis all of Wilkes County, NC; one daughter: Susan Sturgill of Sparta, NC; one sister: Mary Ashby of Mt. Airy, NC; one brother: John Davis of Sparta, NC; five grandchildren; three step-sons: Ricky Dean Hodge and James Richard Hodge both of Sparta, NC and Stevie Wayne Hodge of Aberdeen, Md.; seven step-daughters: Louise Somji of Maryland, Betty Roster of Danville, Va., Bobbie Hodge of Texas, Annie Mae Hodge of Philadelphia, Pa., Lois Faye Ray of Wilmington, NC, Joyce Hodge of Philadelphia, Pa. and Mildred Jean Hodge of Maryland. Several step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, December 14, 2000, at 2:00 PM at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Burial to follow in the Antioch Methodist Church Cemetery at Roaring Gap, NC. BLEVINS Mr. Alvis Evander (Slick) Blevins, age 85, of 952 Penn Ford Lane, Independence, Va., formerly of Alleghany County, NC, died Saturday, December 9, 2000, at his residence. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law: Judy and David E. Osborne of Independence, Va; one son and daughter-in-law: Allen and Gaye Blevins of Piney Creek, NC; one grandson: Scott Blevins of Wilkesboro,NC; one granddaughter: Sharon Skoff of Charlotte, NC; one brother and sister-in-law: Sid and Doris Blevins of Yadkinville, NC.; his Step-mother: Grace Choate of Sparta, NC; and two half-sisters: Carol Howard and Blanche Edwards both of Sparta, NC. He was preceded in death by his wife: Mildred Cook Blevins. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, December 12, 2000, at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with the Dr. John Deason and Pastor Mary Lautensleger officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the services to lie in state. The family will receive friends Monday evening, December 11, 2000, from 6-8 PM at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta, NC and at other times at the home at 952 Penn Ford Lane, Independence, Va.

ANDREWS Mr. Cammet Estel Andrews, age 85, of 7510 Doral Dr., Tobaccoville, N.C. and formerly of Sparta, died Saturday morning, December 9, 2000, at his home. He is survived by his wife: Hazel Marie Farmer Andrews of the home; one daughter and son-in-law: Frances and Sam Caudill of Tobaccoville, N.C.; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Thomas L. Andrews of Sparta, NC and Gale and Geneva Andrews of Clewiston, Florida; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Gwyn Anders and Charlie Lee Anders both of Sparta, NC. Funeral services will be conducted Monday. December 11, 2000, at 2:00 P.M. at the Grandview Memorial Chapel with Burial in the Shiloh Cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Weaver will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at the Grandview Memorial funeral home in Sparta, NC.

CAUDILL Mrs. Alma Jane Medley Caudill, age 82, of 119 Casabella Drive, Advance, NC died Tuesday morning, December 5, 2000, at her home. She was the widow of James G. Caudill. She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law: James T. and Lucy Caudill of Winston-Salem, NC, W. Sam and Frances Caudill of Tobaccoville, NC, Robert K. and Bonnie Caudill of Hamptonville, NC and Richard C. and Linda Caudill of Trophy Club, Texas; one daughter: Nanalee Wrenn of Advance, NC; three sisters: Clema Frances Medley Caudle of Sparta, NC, Eula Mae Medley Parris of Dallas, NC and Bertie Ruth Medley Sparks of Traphill, NC; 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, December 8, 2000, at 11:00 A.M. at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Elder Don Richardson officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel Glen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, December 7, 2000, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta, NC.
