ANDREWS SPARTA - Mr. Raymon Ford Andrews, 85, of 271 Deerhaven Road died Thursday morning, May 31, 2001, at his home. He is survived by a son, Robert Andrews of Sparta; five daughters, Betty Greene of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Barbara Church, Margaret Bowles, Patsy Jarrett and Shirley Childress, all of Sparta; two sisters, Clyde Greene of Sparta and Helen White of Dobson; 20 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Lee Wagoner Andrews. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 2, 2001, at 2 p.m. at the Grandview Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Crab Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Fred E. Jennings and Elder Don Richardson officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Friday evening, June 1, 2001, at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta. WOODRUFF Mrs. Mary Maines Woodruff, age 95, of 55 Pull Tail Road, Glade Valley, NC, died Tuesday, May 22, 2001, at her home. She was the widow of George F. Woodruff. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Carol and Don Johnson of the home; a granddaughter: Elizabeth J. Solomon of Glade Valley; a great-grandson: John G. Solomon of Pfafftown; two sisters: Hattie Carpenter of Independence, Va. and Mable Rowe of Indianapolis, Indiana; a sister-in-law: Irene Maines of Glade Valley; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, May 25, 2001, at 11:00 AM at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Roberts officiating. DOLINGER Mrs. Jessie Rose Dolinger, age 86, of 86 Highland Drive, Sparta, N.C. died Friday evening, May 18, 2001, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law: Bob L. and Rose Dolinger. She was the widow of Dewey Dolinger. Besides Bob and Rose, She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Betty and Bill Landreth of North Wilkesboro; three granddaughters: Beth Davis of Tennessee, and Sandy Hamm and Susan Hawks , both of Sparta, N.C.; and four great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Rett Miller of Glendale Springs, N.C. and Cleo Miller of Sparta. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Patsy Murphy. Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning, May 21, 2001, at 11:00 a.m. at the Grandview Memorial Chapel with Burial in the Sparta Cemetery. Ray Osborne and Rev. Larry Atwood will officiate. RABREN Mrs. Eilene Sexton Rabren, age 64, of 14 Pineview Circle, Sparta, died Friday morning, May 18, 2001, in the Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law: Karen and Bill Roupe of Piney Creek; one son and daughter-in-law: Gary and Betty Williams of Sparta; four grandchildren: Angela Williams of Glade Valley, Amanda Williams of Sparta, Danny Halsey of Sparta and Michael Williams of Florida; one great-grandchild: Alexander Williams of Sparta, NC; one sister: Dorothy Worrell of Sparta, NC; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband: Harold Williams, and her second husband: Emory Rabren, Jr., Her parents: Mack McCoy and Mae Hodge Sexton, and two sisters: Evon Atkins and Josephine Nelson. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, May 20, 2001, at 2:00 PM at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Burial to follow in the Shiloh Methodist Cemetery. Rev. James Worrell and Rev. PUGH Sherman Guy Pugh, age 57, of 2350 Mt. Zion Church Road, Piney Creek, N.C., died Monday evening, May 14, 2001, at the Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta. He is survived by two daughters: Mary Elizabeth and Laura Elaine Pugh, both of Raleigh; a special family friend: Bob Greene of Piney Creek; four brothers and two sisters-in-law: Thomas Dale and Mary Pugh of Winston-Salem, Dean and Shirley Pugh of Walkertown, Robert Pugh of Winston-Salem, and Nicky Pugh of Scottville; three Ssisters and brothers-in-law: Jackie and C.O. Mabe of Greensboro, Christine and Randy Martin of King, and Ann and Kenneth Triplett of Piney Creek; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Guy Wilson and Ruby Faircloth Pugh. BLACKBURN Mr. William "Roy" Blackburn, age 94, of 10100 US Highway 21 South, Roaring Gap, NC, died Wednesday morning, May 9, 2001, in the Wilkes Senior Village in North Wilkesboro. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law: Patsy and Wade Murphy of Roaring Gap; one son and daughter-in-law: Jerry and Patsy Blackburn of North Wilkesboro; three grandchildren and spouses: Allen Murphy of Wilmington, Ramona and Stan Cox of Raleigh, and Reba and Jeff Cox of Charlotte; two step-daughters: Ann Petree of Roaring Gap and Vena Lentz of Lenoir; two sisters: Edith Billings of Glade Valley and Ruby Smith of Traphill; and three great-grandchildren. EVANS Mr. John Page Evans, age 82, of 1318 Fender Rd., Sparta, N.C., died Saturday evening, May 5th, at the Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta.
He is survived by his wife: Loraine Boyer Evans of the home; one daughter and son-in-law: Margaret and Lonnie Dalton of Sparta; two sons and daughters-in-law: Bobby and Kathy Evans, and Alvin and Cindy Evans, all of Sparta; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law: Paul and Blanche Evans of Sparta; and a sister and brother-in-law: Retha and Eugene Edwards of Stuart, Va. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Loretta Watson, and a brother, Ivan Evans. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, May 8th, at 2:00 p.m. at the Grandview Memorial Chapel with Burial in the Zion Cemetery. Rev. Paul Boyer and Rev. Roger Boyer will officiate. BRINEGAR Mr. Wade Hampton Brinegar, Sr., age 80, of 397 Reynolds Rd., Sparta, N.C. died Saturday morning, May 5, at his home. He is survived by his wife: Maxine Hodge Brinegar of the home; one daughter and son-in-law: Nancy and Tommy Greene of Ennice; three sons and four daughters-in-law: Junior and Louise Brinegar, David and Phyllis Brinegar, Kenneth and Diane Brinegar and Carolyn W. Brinegar, all of Sparta; four sisters: Pearl Crouse of Galax, Va., and Grace Papano, Ann Brinegar and Hazel Price all of Bel Air, Maryland; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Charlie and Ada Blevins Brinegar, a son: Wayne Brinegar, two brothers: Talmadge Brinegar and Otis Brinegar, and a sister: Vell Brinegar. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, May 8, at 11:00 AM at the Full Gospel Church with Burial in the Shiloh Methodist Cemetery. DELP Mr. Cam Fields Delp, age 73, of 58 Half Mile Lane, Fries, Va., died Tuesday evening, May 1, 2001, at the Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax, Va. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: George and Sherry Delp of Fancy Gap, Va.; one brother: Charlie Delp of Sparta; and a special friend: Gerlene Trent of Fries, Va. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducated Friday afternoon, May 4, 2001, at 2:00 p.m. at the Grandview Memorial Chapel with Burial in the Glade Creek Union Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev.
