She is survived by 10 nieces and nephews: Thelma Gentry of Churchville, Md., Elma Mary Rinehart of Bel Air, Md., Dr. William B. Waddell of Galax, and Wilmington, NC, Kenneth Waddell of Roanoke, Va., Dr. Robert (Bobby) Waddell of Virginia Beach, Va., Doris Morris of Galax, Richard R. Waddell of Scottville, NC, Mary Sue Davis of Winston-Salem, NC, Nancy Burgiss of Laurel Springs, NC, and Jerry W. Waddell of Sparta; two sisters-in -law and good friends: Lucy Reeves Waddell of Scottville, and Florence Edwards Waddell of Sparta. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m,. Sunday, at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Cranberry Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00-2:00 PM at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta. GRIFFITH Mr. Zella Cretola Griffith, age 67, of Glendale, Arizona, died Tuesday, August 17, 1999, in Glendale, Arizona. He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Cynthia Griffith of the home; two sons and a daughter-in-law: Z.C. Griffith, Jr. of the home; and Randy and Carla Griffith of Panama City, Fla.; one granddaughter and spouse: Kelly and Jim Phillips of Spokane, Washington; one sister: Mary Ruth Andrews of Ennice, N.C.; and one brother and sister-in-law: Genoa and Carrie Griffith of Mt. Airy, N.C. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3:00 P.M. at the Saddle Mtn. Union Baptist Church. The body will be placed in the Church 30 minutes prior to the services to lie in state. Burial will follow in the Saddle Mtn. Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7-9 PM at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta. The family will be at the home of Ellen Widener, 964 Tayson Road, Sparta, NC.

BROOKS Mr. Tommy Glenn Brooks, Sr., age 45, of 324 Folger Rd. Sparta, N.C., died Friday evening, August 13, 1999, at the Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta, N.C. He is survived by his companion: Monra Pearl Edwards of the home; one son: Tommy Glenn Brooks, Jr. of Sparta; one daughter: Lisa Moxley of Sparta; his father: Hugh Brooks of North Wilkesboro, N.C.; his mother: Eva Edwards Parsons of Sparta; one brother: Alton Hugh Brooks of Piney Creek, N.C.; one sister: Carol Parsons Johnson of Sparta; his grandmother: Oddie Bedsaul Edwards of Sparta; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the Grandview Memorial Chapel with Burial in the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta.

BRYAN Mr. Willie Ferrell Bryan, age 75, of 351 Macedonia Church Rd. Sparta, N.C., died Thursday, August 12, 1999, at his home. He is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law: Nathan and Ethelene Bryan of Winston-Salem, N.C., Ferrell Jr. and Vickie Bryan of Independence, Va., George and Carol Bryan, James and Jackie Bryan, and Melvin and Lisa Bryan all of Sparta; two brothers: Delmer Bryan of Sparta and Clay Bryan of Winston-Salem; eleven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Grandview Memorial Chapel, with Burial in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday evening at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta.

BARKER Mr. Harry H. Barker, III, age 45 of 9373 Glade Valley Rd. Ennice, N.C., died Monday, August 9, 1999, at the Twin County Regional Hospital in Galax, Va. He is survived by his wife: Diane Edwards Barker of the home; one daughter: Jessica Barker of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law: Harry, IV and Donna Barker of Atlanta, Ga. and Chad and Charise Barker of Columbia, S.C.; one granddaughter: Haley Barker of Columbia; one sister and brother-in-law: Mollie and Tommy Harris of Raleigh, N.C.; and two step-children: Amber Hampton of the home and Brandon Edwards of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at the Camp Zion Missionary Methodist Church in Galax, with Burial in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the funeral services to lie-in-state. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 P.M., Tuesday evening, at the Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to the Alleghany High School Athletic Department or the Sparta Elementary School Athletic Department.

RICHARDSON Mrs. Zenna Gambill Richardson, age 94, of 323 East Whitehead St. Sparta, N.C., died Tuesday, August, 3, 1999, in the Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta. She was the widow of Clennel Richardson. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law: Doris and Amos Wagoner, Jr. of Sparta, N.C.; two grandchildren and spouses: Marsha and David Leiker, and Mike T. and Vickie Wagoner, all of Sparta; one great-gandchild: Alexandra Wagoner of Sparta; two sisters: Vivian Weaver and Fairy Gambill both of Sparta; one brother: R.L. Gambill of Sparta; and a sister-in-law: Ethel Gambill of Sparta. She was preceded in death by a brother, James W. Gambill, and a sister-in-law, Opal Andrews Gambill. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Sparta First Baptist Church with Burial in the Sparta Cemetery. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the funeral services at the Church. The family requests your prayers and love in lieu of other rememberances or a memorial contribution may be made to the Sparta First Baptist Church, Nina Crouse Circle or the Handbell fund. Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta is serving the family.

DANIELS Mrs. Bobbie L. Hoppers Daniels, age 64, of 517 Fox Knob Rd, Sparta, N.C., died Monday, August 2, 1999, at her home. She is survived by one son: Anthony Phillip Daniels of Walnut Cove, N.C.; one grandson: Justin Daniels of Walnut Cove; two uncles: Thomas Landreth of Belborne, Fla., and Richard Landreth of Sparta; and family friend: Roma Kennedy of Sparta. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Landreth Family Cemetary. There will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta is in charge of the arrangements.

RICHARDSON Mrs. Doris Carico Richardson, 87, of Pilgrims Rest in Sparta, N.C., died Sunday, August 1, 1999, at the Alleghany Memorial Hospital in Sparta. She was the widow of Oscar Richardson. She is survived by a daughter: Shirlee Kirk Haden of Lake Wylie, S.C.; two two step-sons: Brice Richardson and Hoke Richardson, both of Sparta; several step-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, at the Sparta First Baptist Church in Sparta. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pilgrims Rest c/o Tim Stamper, 459 River Hill Road, Sparta, N.C., 28675. Grandview Memorial Funeral Home of Sparta is in Charge of the funeral arrangements.
