Wilma Lee Rose age 83 of Elkridge, MD formerly of Ashe County, NC died Tuesday, July 23, 2002 in Maryland. Mrs. Rose was born on March 9, 1919 in Ashe County, NC to John Morgan and Fannie Perry Baker. Her husband James L. Rose, daughter Irene Brooks, brothers Harold, J.C., and Dean Baker, preceded her in death. Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 29, 2002 at 10:00 A.M. at the Healing Springs Baptist Church. Rev. David Jones will officiate. Mrs. Rose will lie in state from 9:00 till 10:00 A.M. on July 29, 2002 at the Healing Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Healing Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Rose is survived by: Son: James G. Rose of Little River, SC Daughter: Sandra Justice of Elkridge, MD Sisters: Pearl Severt of West Jefferson, NC: Pauline Miller of California Louise Drachenberg of Texas: Bradley Baker of Little River, SC Mae Tucker of Kannapolis, NC: Shirley Phipps of Westminister, MD Grandchildren: Deborah Justice, Mary Rose, Lisa Reid, Christopher and Jimmy Rose, Christina, Charles Lee, and Theresa Bowman. Mary Louise Marsh Bare age 71 of Jefferson, NC died Friday, July 26, 2002 at the Watauga Medical Center. Mrs. Bare was born on April 30, 1931 in Ashe County, NC to Charles and Callie Shatley Marsh. She was a member of the Highland Community Church. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, July 28, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Steve Witherspoon, Rev. Dean Watson, Rev. Keith Elledge, Rev. Dean Shepherd, and Rev. J.D. Walton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Roans Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 27, 2002 from 7:00-9:00 P.M. at Badger Funeral Home. Hazel Mae Daugherty, age 58 of Creston died Sunday, July 28, 2002 at her home. Mrs.Daugherty was born July 26, 1944 in Ashe County to Quincy and Faye Barr. Her father preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 31st at the Big Laurel Church of Christ in Christian Union. Rev. Earl Woods, Rev. Darrell Graybeal and Rev. Clifton Greer will officiate. Burial will follow in the Roten Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 till 11:00 AM prior to the service. Mrs. Elizabeth Ann McIntosh Chenault, 68 of Laurel Springs died at her home Saturday, September 7, 2002. Mrs. Chenault was born to Richard I. and Elizabeth Tinsley McIntosh on February 27, l934 in Jefferson, Kentucky. Mrs. Chenault was a graduate of Atherton High School (1951) in Louisville, and the University of Kentucky (1955). She earned a MA degree from Georgia State in l976. Mrs. Chenault was a dedicated educator winning the devotion and love of her students and co-workers. She served the Wake County school systems. She was a member of the Chio OMEGA sorority. Following her retirement she made her home in Ashe County, North Carolina where she was actively involved in the Laurel Fork Presbyterian Church and the Ashe County Republican Party. Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, September 9, 2002 at 11:00 am at the Laurel Fork Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Phillip Pogue and Emily Davis, CLP. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at Badger Funeral Home in West Jefferson, NC. Graveside services will be conducted at a later date in Cave Hill cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky. Mrs. Chenault is survived by her husband, John Chenault of the home, four daughters: Elizabeth Ann Chenault of Chapel Hill, Carlisle Chenault of Raleigh, Luisa Sullivan Chenault of Raleigh, and Sarah Chenault Southward of Apex, NC. Two sister-in laws: Ms. Luisa deVarona Chenault of Raleigh and Ms. Carlisle Chenault Farmer of Lexington, KY. Two grandchildren also survive. William Anderson Lefevers, age 56 Creston, NC died Thursday afternoon in the Ashe Memorial Hospital in Jefferson, NC. Mr. Lefevers was born to Willie Anderson and Clora Lewis Lefevers on June 29, 1946. Funeral services for Mr. Lefevers will be conducted on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm in the Valley Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Charlie McCoy and the Rev. Denton Hart officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Memorial Gardens in Jefferson. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening at Badger Funeral Home from 6:30 until 8:30. Mr. Lefevers is survived by his mother, Mrs. Clora Virginia Lewis Lefevers of the home; three brothers: Johnny Lefevers of Zionsville, NC, Carl David Lewis of Deep Gap, NC, Clinton Lewis of Foscoe, NC.
