Jasper Blevins, age 89 of Lansing, NC died Wednesday, October 30, 2002 at the Segraves Care Center. Mr. Blevins was born March 5, 1913 in Ashe County to Wiley and Mary Ann McClure Blevins. His wife, Rachel Blevins preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 2nd at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Rev. Bluford Eldreth and Rev. Ronda Rash will officiate. Burial will follow in the Scott-Blevins Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 till 9:00 PM Friday, November 1st at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Mr. Dillard was born April 23, 1943 in Ashe County to George and Callie Bare Dillard. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 4th at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ella Mae Watson age 86 of West Jefferson, NC died Wednesday, November 6, 2002 at the Ashe Living Center. Mrs. Watson was born on May 16, 1916 in the Pine Swamp Community to John and Sally Bedwell Hartzog. She was preceded in death by her husband Glen Watson, and son Wade Watson. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 8, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jack Miller and Rev. Mark Harless will officiate. Edith Irene Arnold Barker, age 73 of Lansing, NC, died Sunday, March 14, 2004 at the Watauga Medical Center. Mrs. Barker was born September 12, 1930 in Ashe County to the late Wayne and Edith Arnold. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Barker, a son, Kenneth Barker and a granddaughter, Alsiha Barker. She was saved at the age of 12 and baptized at the New River Baptist Church. Rev. Paul Phipps was pastor. She later became a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at the Oak Hill Baptist Church where she will lie in state from 10:00 till 11:00 AM. Rev. Lonnie Carpenter and Rev. Charlie McCoy will officiate. Burial will follow in the Barker-Eller-McNeill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 till 9:00 PM Tuesday, March 16th at Badger Funeral Home. Hiram Gale Wiles Jr., age 71 of Lansing, NC died Sunday, January 11, 2004 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mr. Wiles was born July 18, 1932 in Ashe County to the late Hiram and Gladys Wiles. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Blye Carroll. Mr. Wiles served in and retired from the National Guard. He also served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Lansing Presbyterian Church. Mr. Wiles was a member of the Lansing Post of the American Legion. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday at the Lansing Presbyterian Church. Rev. Dwight Barker will officiate. Burial will follow in the Nella Community Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Marsh. She was a long time member of Friendship Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, December 12th at Friendship Baptist Church. Rev. David Grinnell will officiate. Burial will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
