Flora Edith Graybeal Gilley age 102 of Creston, NC died Sunday, January 4, 2004 at the Ashe Living Center. Mrs. Gilley was born on April 9, 1901 in Ashe County, NC to Joe and Della Allen Graybeal. She was preceded in death by her husband Halford Barber Gilley. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 7, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jack Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 7, 2003 from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at Badger Funeral Home. Pearl Irene Darnell Liddle age 73 of Jefferson, NC died Sunday, December 28, 2003 at the Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Liddle was born on October 7, 1930 in Wilkes County, NC to Todd and Annie Wingler Darnell. She was member of the Low Gap Full Gospel Church. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. at the Roans Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Russell Sheets will officiate. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Roans Creek Cemetery, c/o Bessie Hall, 5603 NC Hwy 88 East, Laurel Springs, NC 28644. Mrs. Testerman was born September 17, 1906 in Ashe County to the late Noah and Rose Jones. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Avery Testerman and a son, Gene Testerman. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 7, 2004 at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Russell Sheets and Rev. Tom Stuart will officiate. Burial will follow in the Dixon – Testerman Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 till 11:00 AM, Saturday prior to the service. Mrs. Lambert was born November 19, 1912 in Ashe County to Mackie and Mary Jane Lambert. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Farrington. Walter Edward “Ed” Phillips age 85 of West Jefferson, NC died Thursday, February 5, 2004 at his home. Mr. Phillips was born on October 8, 1918 in Ashe County, NC to Walter and Bertha Burkett Phillips. He served in the United States Army, serving in World War II in Germany where he was a Prisoner of War. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 7, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at the West Jefferson United Methodist Church. Rev. Ken Morris and Rev. A.B. Weaver will officiate. William Donald Lyalls age 74 of Jefferson, NC died Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at the Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mr. Lyalls was born on June 18, 1929 in Crumpler, WV to Austin and Maude Mullis Lyalls. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean Conflict. He attended the Scottville Baptist Church. Mr. Lyalls was preceded in death by his brother Roy Lyalls.
