Dona Lou Alonzo Farrington age 71 of Jefferson, NC died Friday, June 18, 2004 at her daughters home in Lathrop, Missouri. Mrs. Farrington was born on November 7, 1932 in Levinsworth, Kansas to Walter Oliver and Ruth Bedwell Alonzo. She worked as a Ward Secretary in the medical profession for many years. Her husband, Floyd Clinton Farrington preceded her in death. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at 10:00 A.M. at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. Rev. Ray Shumate will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ebenezer Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 22, 2004 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Badger Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Ashe Memorial Hospital, 200 Hospital Lane, Jefferson, NC 28640. Mrs. Elmo Tuleen Blevins Honeycutt age 82 of Jefferson, NC, died Sunday, June 20, 2004 at the Ashe Living Center. Mrs. Honeycutt was born on March 5, 1922 in Ashe County, NC. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nancy E. Blevins, her son, Michael Honeycutt. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at 3:00 P.M. at the Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis, NC. Rev. Bobby Sutherland will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 22, 2004 fro 7:00-9:00 P.M. at Badger Funeral Home in West Jefferson, NC. Sadie Johnson Darnell age 74 of Lansing, NC, died Saturday, June 26, 2004 at the Segraves Nursing Home. Mrs. Darnell was on October 11, 1929 in Ashe County, NC to Wiley and Margaret Rose Johnson. William Roger “Bill” Bare age 69 of Jefferson, NC, died Monday, July 5, 2004 at the Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Mr. Bare was born on August 28, 1934 in Ashe County, NC to Roger Smith and Ida Virginia Johnson Bare. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Edwards Bare. He was the owner of Bare Brothers Construction, Inc. and had been moving houses for over 50 years. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 7, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Kirk McNeill and Rev. A.B. Weaver will officiate. Mrs. Johnston was born February 19, 1913 in Ashe County to the late Avery and Jestin Barker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Johnston and a son, Carl Johnson. Mrs. Johnston is survived by: Daughter In Law: JoAnn Johnson of West Jefferson, NC Sisters: Ruby Brooks & Magdeline Phipps both of Jefferson, NC and Josephine Smith of North Wilkesboro, NC Brothers: Gilbert Barker of Pulaski, VA and Robert Barker of Kernersville, NC 2 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive. Mr. Baker was born November, 28, 1930 in Ashe County to the late Charlie and Orph Baker. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served his country in the Korean Conflict.
