Lucille Sheets Shatley age 89 of West Jefferson, NC, died Saturday, September 18, 2004 at the Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Shatley was born on July 10, 1915 in Ashe County, NC to Peter and Alice Colvard Sheets. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, September 19, 2004 at 3:00 P.M. at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Russell Sheets will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 19, 2004 from 2:00-3:00 P.M. at Badger Funeral Home. The family will accept flowers or memorials may be made to the Segraves Care Center, 200 Hospital Lane, Jefferson, NC 28640. Mrs. Shatley is survived by: Daughter: Alice Miller of West Jefferson, NC 4 Grandchildren 10 Great Grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Badger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Bessie Faye Shepherd Osborne, age 81 of Lansing, NC, died Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Osborne was born January 27, 1923 in Ashe County to the late Adolphus and Rosie Elliott Shepherd. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Osborne, five brothers, Everett, Lester, Verna Ray, Grant and Blane Shepherd, and two sisters, Carrie Honeycutt and Blanche Landreth. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 PM, Sunday, September 26, 2004 at Jefferson United Methodist Church. Rev. Dr. Ray Osborne and Rev. J. C. Norton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Chapel Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Pleasant Chapel Baptist Church cemetery Fund, c/o Betty Greer, 2574 West Mill Creek Rd., Warrensville, NC 28693 Mrs. Osborne is survived by: Son. Rev. Dr. Ray Osborne of Lincolnton, NC Daughter: Juanita Wilkinson Osborne of West Jefferson, NC Brother: Rev. Hazel Lee Parsons Stanley, age 82 of Lansing, died Wednesday, September 22, 2004 at the Ashe Living Center. Mrs. Parsons was born July 18, 1922 in Ashe County to the late John and Ellen Jones Parsons. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Wilson Stanley. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 25, 2004 at Oak Grove Baptist Church. Rev. George Grubb, Rev. Tommy Dollar and Rev. Fred Richardson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Welch Cemetery. The family will receive friends form 7:00 till 9:00 PM, Friday, September 24th at Badger Funeral Home.
