Russell Dent “Ted” Caudill age 86 of West Jefferson, NC, died Sunday, December 19, 2004 at the Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mr. Caudill was born on May 1, 1918 in Ashe County, NC to Arthur Glenn and Bessie Barr Caudill. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at 11:00 A.M. at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Dr. Keith Franklin will officiate. A military graveside will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The Independent Order of Odd Fellows will perform fraternal rites. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 21, 2004 from 10:00-11:00 A.M. at Badger Funeral Home. Ray Miller, age 77 of Bel Air, MD died Tuesday, December 21, 2004 in Bel Air, MD. Mr. Miller was born December 14, 1927 in Wilkes County to the late George and Jennie Viers Miller. His wife, Eleanor Smithson Miller also preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 27, 2004 at the Ebenezer Presbyterian Church. Helen Haire Blackburn age 88 of West Jefferson, NC died Thursday, September 25, 2003 at the Glenbridge Nursing Home. Mrs. Blackburn was born in Wilkes County, NC on September 30, 1914 to Mack and Nora Greer Haire. She was preceded in death by her husband Raleigh Blackburn, sons Harold Dean and Raleigh Wayne Blackburn. Helen and Raleigh Blackburn were married
for 70 years. Mrs. Blackburn was the oldest member of the Blue Ridge Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school for over 50 years. She was secretary- treasurer of Blue Ridge cemetery for many years. She had a great love of reading and sewing. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 27, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. at the Blue Ridge Baptist Church. Rev. Jerry Francis, Rev. Dean Blackburn and Rev. James Baker will officiate. Burial will follow in the Blue Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 27, 2003 from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at the Blue Ridge Baptist Church.
