Jossie Samantha Blevins Combs age 94 of Fleetwood formerly of Lansing, NC died Friday, October 11, 2002 at the Segraves Care Center. Mrs. Combs was born on March 20, 1908 in Ashe County, NC to George W. and Inez Absher Blevins. Her husband George W. Combs preceded her in death. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, October 13, 2002 at 3:00 P.M. at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Kershaw Getty, Rev. Charlie McCoy, and Rev. Lonnie Carpenter will officiate. Burial will follow in the Scott-Blevins Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 13, 2002 from 1:00-3:00 P.M. at Badger Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Scott-Blevins cemetery Fund. Mrs. Combs is survived by: Sister: Belle Denny of Baltimore, MD Sister-in-Laws: Inez Blevins of West Jefferson, NC Ethel Blevins of Lansing, NC Maude Blevins of Crumpler, NC Helen Blevins of Maryland Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Edith Alexander Lawson age 78 of Jefferson, NC died Monday, October 28, 2002 at the NC Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Mrs. Lawson was born on March 28, 1924 in Ashe County, NC to Shubal V. and Myrtle Ballou Alexander. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Benjamin Lawson, Sr., daughter Sara Lawson Seaborn, grandson Joseph Benfield Lawson, Jr. She was a member of the Healing Springs Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. at Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. David Jones and Rev. Bill Ballou will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ashelawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 30, 2002 from 1:00-2:00 P.M. at Badger Funeral Home. Virginia Wagoner Goodman, age 92 of West Jefferson, died Sunday, September 8, 2002 at the Jefferson Care Center. Mrs. Goodman was born October 5, 1909 in Alleghany County to George and Etta Landreth Wagoner. Her parents and husband, Hayden Goodman preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, September 12th, 2002 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Chris Goodman will officiate. Burial will follow in the Calloway Cemetery. Alice Elizabeth Miller Hardin age 90 of West Jefferson, NC died Saturday, August 23, 2003 at the Ashe Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Hardin was born on March 11, 1913 in Ashe County, NC to Tom and Nancy Eller Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband William Taft Hardin. Mrs. Hardin was dedicated wife and mother, and when she was younger she attended Oak Grove Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at the Badger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tom Stuart and Rev. Reeves Jones will officiate.
