BLACKSBURG, S.C. - Mr. Thomas "Junior" Moss, 71, of 627 Hopewell Road, died Thursday, June 8, 2000, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center in Gaffney.
A cryptside service will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Clingman Memorial Gardens with Dr. Charlie Barnard officiating.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7:00 to 9:00 at White Columns Funeral Service and at other times at the home.
Pallbearers are Marvin Wray, Ronnie Upchurch, Charlie Moss, Bill Moss, Hubert Mauney, Darrell Batchler and Timmy Pinson.

Kenneth Lawing Sr.
RUTHERFORDTON - Mr. Kenneth Edward Lawing Sr., 51, of 144 Broken Limb Court, died Tuesday, June 6, 2000, in Chester, S.C.
A graveside service will be held today at 2:30 p.m. at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 1 to 2 p.m. at McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home.

"Hoss" Rollins
SPINDALE - Mr. Albert "Hoss" Rollins, 84, of 214 Deviney St., died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, at Union Regional Medical Center in Monroe.
The funeral will be Saturday at 4 p.m. at Crowe Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Billy Vaughn and Bruce Caldwell officiating.
Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Forest City.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Robert Glenn
CONNELLY SPRINGS - Mr. Robert Lee Glenn Jr., 86, of 3664 Berry Rd., died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, at Valdese General Hospital.
A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Robert Lee Sr. and Myrtle Queen Glenn. He was a farmer and retired carpenter from Enloe Young Construction. He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Newell Glenn and Don Glenn and three sisters, Lilly Glenn, Blanche Dayberry and Margaret Meyers.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Icard Glenn of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Clara Glenn of Rutherford College; a daughter and son-in-law, Myra and Norris Huss of Vale; a daughter, Robin Jayne Glenn of Clemmons; four brothers, Alvin Glenn of Belwood, Wray Glenn of Lawndale, F.H. Glenn of Polkville, and William "Bill" Glenn of Shelby; four sisters, Hazel Glenn of Shelby, Wilma Bridges of Columbus, Ohio, Peggy Fama of Norfolk, Va., and Dot McCurry of Fallston; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronald Doub officiating.
Burial will follow at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Dale and Clara Glenn, 100 Talmon St., Rutherford College.

Robena Baldwin
ELLENBORO - Mrs. Robena Hamrick Baldwin, 76, of 119 Baldwin St., died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, at Carolinas Medical Center.
A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Arbuth and Thelma Austin Hamrick. She was retired from Fiber Industries. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was the founder of the Bethel Baptist Church Extension Department. She was also a former member of the Ellenboro Town Council.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Durward Hamrick and Vitto Hamrick.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Clyde Baldwin; a brother, Reece Hamrick of Ellenboro; two sisters, Hilda Hamrick Whisnant of Ellenboro and Jelma Hamrick Daves of Shelby; a great niece, Samantha Lee Whisnant; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Wayne Blackwood and the Rev. Ed Lee officiating.
The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family received friends Friday night at McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Life Enrichment Center, Bethel Baptist Church, Box 633, Ellenboro, N.C. 28040.

Harold Bumgardner
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mr. Harold Bumgardner, 58, of 204 Fairdel St., died Thursday, June 8, 2000, at his home.
A graveside service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Mountain Rest Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Bowen officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at Harris Funeral Home.

"Gene" White
FUQUAY VARINA - Mr. M. Eugene "Gene" White, 75, of 907 Old Wyck Drive, died Thursday, June 8, 2000, at Western Wake Hospital.
A retired state employee with the Department of Transportation and the Department of Administration, he was also formerly employed with the Department of Revenue in Tallahassee, Fla., and was a real estate appraiser, MIA. He was currently on the board of directors of the State Employees Credit Union in Fuquay Varina. He was a charter member of Saint Andrews United Methodist Church and a past member of Saint Matthew's Lutheran Church in Kings Mountain, and a current member of Fuquay United Methodist Church. He was a past master of James B. Green Lodge and a member of the Shrine Oasis Temple.
He is survived by his wife, Jewel C. White; a daughter and son-in-law, Snow and David Watson of Fuquay Varina; two grandchildren, Parker White Watson and Kinsey Palmer Watson; a brother, Richard White of Taylorsville; and a sister, Frances Whitley of Kings Mountain.
A memorial service will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Montlawn Funeral Home Chapel in Raleigh.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.

MOUNT HOLLY - Mr. Patrick Lavonne Hovis, 27, of 803 Fairview Drive, formerly of Rutherford County, died Thursday, June 8, 2000, in Charlotte.
The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Union Hill AME Zion Church with the Rev. Barbara Petty officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.

MOORESBORO - Mrs. Mellice Lee Horne Wilson, 86, of Mooresboro, died Thursday, June 8, 2000, at Autumn Care of Saluda.
A graveside service will be today at 11 a.m. at Goode's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Lawrence Toney officiating.

CHERRYVILLE - Mrs. Barbara White Paysour, 96, of 205 N. Elm St., died Thursday, June 8, 2000, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.

FOREST CITY - Mrs. Mary Elizabeth "Babe" Jones, of 275 Hardin Road, died Wednesday, June 7, 2000, at her home.
The funeral will be today at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. H.D. Tate officiating.
Burial will follow at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Henrietta.
The family will receive friends today from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Leonard Morton
SHELBY - Mr. Leonard Christian Morton, 98, of 1323 Claremont Drive, died Thursday, June 8, 2000, at his home.
A native of Big Lick, he was the son of the late Levi and Nancy Hinson Morton. He was a member of First Wesleyan Church of Shelby.
He is survived by a niece, Sue English of Shelby and a nephew, Van Morton of Belwood.
A graveside service was held Friday, June 9, 2000, at Cleveland Memorial Park with the Revs. Adam Bivins, Clarence Williams and Tommy Buchanan officiating.
The family will be at the home, 1323 Claremont Drive.
Memorials may be made to First Wesleyan Church, 1542 Kings Rd., Shelby, N.C. 28150.

Clara Hoffman
SHELBY - Mrs. Clara Dawson Hoffman, 84, of Shelby, died Friday, June 9, 2000, at Century Care of Shelby.
A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late L.T. and Laura Bumgardner Allen Dawson. She was a homemaker and a member of Ascension Lutheran Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin E. Hoffman, and a brother, Bill Dawson.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Oscar and Dona Hoffman of Gaffney, S.C.; two granddaughters and a grandson-in-law, Keely and Darrell Satterfield of Spartanburg, S.C., and Shelly Hoffman of Gaffney; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Nathan and Melissa Hoffman of Gaffney; and two great-granddaughters, Danielle Satterfield and Tabitha Satterfield, both of Spartanburg.
A graveside service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Sunset Cemetery with the Rev. David Lohr officiating.
The family will receive friends today from 5 to 6 p.m. at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home.

Ethel Lilley
BLOWING ROCK - Mrs. Ethel P. Lilley, of 137 Rankin Road, died Friday, June 9, 2000, at Watauga Medical Center in Boone.

Marguerite Jenkins
FOREST CITY - Mrs. Marguerite McGinnis Jenkins, 75, of 152 Vista Drive, died Friday, June 9, 2000, at Rutherford Hospital.
A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Ada Tate McGinnis. She was a retired cloth inspector at Cone Mills and was a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C.C. Jenkins and a grandson, Ricky Champion.
She is survived by a daughter, Brenda Champion of Forest City; a son, Jerry Jenkins of Forest City; two brothers, Charles McGinnis of Mooresboro and Joe McGinnis of Rutherfordton; two sisters, Carolyn Morgan of Forest City and Betty Sailors of Cliffside; three granddaughters, Cindy Cobb of Rutherfordton, Susan Griffin of Hickory, and Sharon Hodge of Boiling Springs; and six great-grandchildren, Alex Cobb and Jonathan Cobb, both of Rutherfordton, Carly Griffin, Sarah Griffin, Sydney Griffin and Tyler Griffin, all of Hickory.
The funeral will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Smith Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. David Jones and Jeff Springer officiating.
The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Forest City.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 at Crowe Funeral Home and at other times at the home of a daughter, Brenda Champion, 361 Lincoln Road, Forest City.

Marguerite Powell
CARY - Mrs. Marguerite Kincaid Powell, 87, of 200 Tynemouth Drive, formerly of East Stagecoach Trail, Fallston, died Friday, June 9, 2000, at Western Wake Medical Center.
A native of Burke County, she was the daughter of the late James Sylvester and Eleanor Jaynes Kincaid. She was a retired teacher, who worked in the Burke, Rutherford and Cleveland county school systems, and was a graduate of Asheville Normal & Teachers College. She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Foster Powell and two brothers, Dean Kincaid and Harry Kincaid.
She was survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Steve F. and Diane Powell of Cary and Roger D. Powell of New Hill; four sisters, Kathleen Shaw of Charlotte, Helen Lackey of Fallston, Jean Redman of Oak Ridge, Tenn., and Angell Crisp of Jackson Springs; two sisters-in-law, Ann White of Tulsa, Okla., and Grace Kincaid of Birmingham, Ala.; and two granddaughters, Kimberly Powell and Meredith Powell.
The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Eddie Ingram officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Sunday.
