CASAR - Mrs. Paulette Davidson Jones, 56, of 1041 Casar-Belwood Road, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999, at her residence.
A native of Russell County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Ira William and Hazel Beatrice Hughes Hawkins. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Clarence Davidson and Amos Jones.
She is survived by one son, Jake Davidson of Icard; two daughters, Cindy Gibbs and Missy Gipson, both of Casar; four brothers, Perry Hawkins of Bristol, Va., Paul Hawkins of Bristol, Tenn., Cecil Hawkins of Blountville, Tenn., and Robert Hawkins of Johnson City, Tenn.; five sisters, Phyllis Dockery of Hiltons, Va., Peggy Warwick of Lillington, N.C., Patsy Daughterty of Bristol, Tenn., Paula Cook of Kingsport, Tenn., and Pam Kiser of Arlington, Va.; nine grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be tonight at 7:30 at Stamey Funeral Home with the Rev. Perry Hawkins officiating. A graveside service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church Cemetery in Casar.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 7:30 at the funeral home.

SHELBY - Mr. Dan T. Wallace, 53, of 2912 Highland Circle, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 1999, at his residence.

RUTHERFORDTON - Miss Mattie Lee Campbell, 88, of Oak Grove Health Care Center, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999, at Oak Grove Health Care Center.
A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Romey and Blanche Canipe Campbell. She was a retired teacher from Sunshine Elementary School. She was a member of Polkville Baptist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Sunday School class.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Lula Mooney and Doris Hawkins.
A graveside service was today at 10 a.m. at Big Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Alton Martin officiating.
The family received friends before the service.

KINGS MOUNTAIN - Miss Mary Alice McDaniel, 62, of 803 W. Gold St., died Monday, Aug. 16, 1999, at Kings Mountain Hospital.
A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late W.G. "Bill" and Helen Humphries McDaniel. She was a retired secretary for Kerns Trucking. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church where she was the organist for a number of years.
She is survived by one uncle; four aunts; and many cousins.
A graveside service will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Mountain Rest Cemetery with the Rev. Harrison Hinson officiating.
The family will receive friends Wednesday after the service.

SHELBY - Mr. Daniel Thomas Wallace, 53, of 2912 Highland Circle, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 1999, at his residence.
A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of Virginia Shytle Wallace of Shelby and the late Loran Daniel Wallace. He was retired and permanently disabled from Dixie Industrial Supply in Shelby where he was an industrial sales supplier representative, servicing Drexel Furniture Industries for 15 years. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church. He was in the U.S. Air Force for four years.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Tedder Wallace of the home; one son, Daniel Vincent Wallace of Shelby; one daughter, Amber Elizabeth Wallace of Shelby; one sister and brother-in-law, Kay and Ken Hinson of Shelby; one brother-in-law, Malcom Tedder of Kings Mountain; a friend, Steven Blackwell of Shelby; Phyllis Jackson, Ralph and family of Rock Hill, S.C.; and many other family members.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel with the Revs. Dan Wallace and Allen Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 at the funeral home and other times at the residence.

GASTONIA - Mrs. Olna Elizabeth Dycus Daves, 78, of 2023 Redbud Drive, died Monday, Aug. 16, 1999, at Hillcrest Rest Home in Forest City.
A native of Rutherford County, she was born on Aug. 11, 1921, the daughter of the late Ensley Broadus and Lucy Anna Parnell Dycus. She was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, formerly Providence Baptist Church. She was the founder and a volunteer of the Gaston Literacy Council. She taught 3600 teachers across the U.S. and Barbados how to teach adult non-readers to read. She was a former trustee at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs.
She is survived by her husband, Woodrow Daves; one son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. James and Rebecca Daves of Spindale; one daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Joseph White of Seneca, S.C.; five grandchildren, April Hinson of Wellford, S.C., Ginger Minch of Battleground, Wash., Robin McDonald of Taylors, S.C., Michelle Paddenburg of Martinsville, Va., and Chris White of Seneca, S.C.; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Edgar Bennett Dycus of Orlando, Fla.; and two sisters, Emma McDaniel of Spindale and Joan Padgett of Greensboro.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Colonial Chapel at Carothers Funeral Home with the Rev. M.O. Owens officiating. A private burial will follow.

CHERRYVILLE - Mrs. Olivia Alice Dillingham Rudisill, 93, of 708 S. Mountain St., died Monday, Aug. 16, 1999, at Century Care Nursing Home of Cherryville.
A native of Cleveland County, she was born on March 16, 1906, the daughter of the late Ellam Dillingham and Zora Mull Ross. She retired from the cafeteria at West School in Cherryville. She was a member of Rudisill Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church where she served as a deaconess, a member of the senior choir and on the Missionary Society.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Rudisill; five brothers, L.Z. and Charles Ross, Matthew, Cullen and Edward Dillingham; two sisters, Estelle Ross and Bertie Lee Shade; and one niece, Lola Dioxin Young.
She is survived by two sisters, Ellen Hester of Hickory and Elizabeth Noroll of Baltimore, Md.; many nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Rudisill A.M.E. Zion Church with the Rev. Stephen Wingate officiating. Burial will follow at Cherryville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday 30 minutes before the service at the church.

She is survived by her mother, Joyce Ashdown; one sister, Beth Parson; one brother and sister-in-law, Neil and Judy Ashdown; one great-grandfather, Bob Lute; seven nieces and nephews; and two great-nephews.
A memorial service will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Civil Air Patrol Headquarters at Shelby Airport.

Jeanette "Jenny" Lowery
SHELBY - Mrs. Jeanette "Jenny" Lowery of 350 Brookside Drive, died Thursday Aug. 19, 1999, at Cleveland Pines. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Annie Belle Runyans Smith. She was a retired bookkeeper for Cleveland County Court Systems. She was a member of First Baptist Church, where she served as a volunteer receptionist, a greeter, a member of the Senior Adult Choir, the Senior Musicians, the Jackie Dills Sunday school class, the 55-plus club, and the leader of the WMU Carrie Wacaster Round Table Group.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William B. Lowery; one son, Billy Lowery; and one brother, Clarence T. Smith.
She is survived by three sisters, Marie Collins, Margaret Spencer and Dolores "Snookie" Hamrick, all of Shelby; three nephews, Berry Hamrick of Shelby, Gene Spencer of Medaryville, Ind., and Eddie Collins of Palatka, Fla.; two nieces, Suzanne Smith and Tracye Morgan, both of Shelby; and a friend, C. Clifford Hughes of Shelby.
The funeral will be Saturday at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Canoy and the Rev. Bob Dills officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. A private burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday after the service at the church and at the home of Dolores Hamrick, 1071 College Ave., Shelby.
