RURAL HALL - Mrs. Rebecca Ann Campbell Sprouse, 44, of Jefferson Woods Drive, died Saturday, Sept. 2, 2000, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem.
A native of York County, S.C., she was the daughter of Virginia Joanne Sailors Campbell and the late Claude Terry Campbell. A former high school math teacher, she was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Southern Baptist Convention.
In addition to her mother and stepfather, Jerry Annas of Ellenboro, she is survived by her husband of 24 years, the Rev. Benny Sprouse; a daughter and a son, Emily and Carl Sprouse, both of the home; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lynn McDaniel of Kernersville and Terri and Todd Frashier of Forest City; two stepsisters, Teresa Annas and Twana Padgett, both of Shelby; two stepbrothers, Talent Annas of Shelby and Tracy Annas of Gaffney, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with the Revs. Don Harvey and Mike Ennis officiating. A graveside service will be held Monday at 4 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Ellenboro.
The family will receive friends at the church tonight from 7 to 9 p. m. The body will be taken to the church at 5 p. m.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Florence Baptist Church in Forest City.

KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mr. Clarence Delmon Wall, 52, of 108 High Ridge Court, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000, at Gaston Community Hospital.
He was a lifetime member of New Hope United Methodist Church. He was a maintenance supervisor of the Firestone plant in Kings Mountain.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Wall of the home; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael and Cindy Wall of Clarksville, Tenn., and Timothy and Steven Wall, both of Barnesville, Ga.; a daughter, Angela Wall of the home; his mother, Marie Wall of Roanoke Rapids; one brother, Terry Babb of Cary; one sister, Martha Waters of Cary; and three grandchildren, Corey Wall, Casey Wall and Michael Wayne Wall Jr.
The funeral will be today at 4 p.m. at Hockaday Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sue Owens officiating.
Burial will follow in New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Born in Dougherty County, Ga., he was a son of Jackie Singletary Brunson of Shelby and the late Jack Willard Brunson. He worked as a forklift operator for Cunningham Brick Co. He was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sherry Nanney Brunson of the home; two sons, Seth Carroll Brunson of the home and Jack William Brunson of Gaffney, S.C.; a stepdaughter, Tabitha Nanney; a brother, Stanley Pittman Brunson of Shelby; and a sister, Wanda Johnson, also of Shelby.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, with Dr. Paul Sorrells officiating. A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Beaver Dam Baptist Church.

SHELBY - Mr. Lawrence "Bud" Davis, 67, of 609 LeGrand St., died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born in Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Wilson and Lula Brown Davis. He worked as a roofer for Childers Roofing.
He is survived by three sons, Lawrence Davis Jr. and his wife, Mary, Sherwood Davis of Shelby and Bernard Davis and his wife, Janet; two daughters, Della David Martin and his husband, David, of Lawndale, and Sherry Davis Browning and her husband, William, of Shelby; two stepdaughters, Gladys McMullens and Barbara McMullens Hillman of Shelby; five sisters, Emma Parks of Shelby, and Doris Davis, Brenda Bristol and her husband, George, Lovie Mitchell and her husband, David, and Wanella Steveson and her husband, Earnest, all of Forest City; 16 grandchildren, seven stepgrandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Pentecostal Apostolic Church of Christ, with the Rev. Gene Pryor officiating. Burial will be in Webb Memorial Lawns.

A native of Grover, she was the daughter of the late William Frank and Alcie Sheppard Randle. She was a retired public school teacher and a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Spurgeon Cline, and her second husband, George Alonzo Spake.
She is survived by a stepson, Bill Spake of Shelby; a stepdaughter, Rebecca Evans of Mount Gilead; a brother, Buren Randle of Grover; and nine step-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p. m. at Elizabeth Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Glenn Buff
FALLSTON - Mr. Glenn Fitzhugh Buff, 89, of 129 Beam Avenue, died Monday,
Sept. 4, 2000, at Golden Years Rest Home.
Born Nov. 18, 1910, in Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Julius and Josie Newton Buff. He was a retired sander with Drexel Furniture in Morganton, and he also worked at Cleveland Mills in Lawndale for a number of years.
He was a member of Fallston Baptist Church and Fallston Masonic Lodge #356.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Zelna Downs Buff; four brothers, Coy Buff, Johnny Buff, Thear Buff and Carl Buff; and two sisters, Ethel Eaker and Mozelle Newton.
He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be tonight at 7:30 in the chapel of Stamey Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Norton officiating.

Born in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Hardin Hayes. She retired as a winder with Ora Mill Company and was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wade Thomas McSwain; a daughter, Sue Hord Barton; and 12 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by a son and daughter - in - law, Johnny "Sonny" and Mildred McSwain of Polkville; a daughter and son - in - law, Glenda and Davis Bonner of Matthews; two grandsons, Jeff McSwain and Tim Vinesett; three granddaughters, Lisa Trice, Wendy Fisher and Barbara Buckles; seven great - grandchildren and one great - - great - grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John Henry Peeler; two sisters, Belle Bradley and Addie Ledford; and two brothers, Lawrence Wright and Phillip Wright.
She is survived by a son, J.L. Born in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Stacey and Corrine Allison Johnson. She was a member of New Ellis Chapel Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board and in the Missionary Department and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Queen Esther Court No. 1. She worked at Park Yarn Mills for 30 years and later at SCT Yarns for about five years.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter - in - law, Harold E. and Sharon Degree of Linden, N.J., and Terry A. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Boyd Dayberry; a son, William Boyd "Bill" Dayberry; two sisters, Gertie Byers and Minnie Panther; and four brothers, Will, Zero, Joe and Lester Bivins.
She is survived by a son and daughter - in - law, Steve and Peggy Dayberry of Shelby; two daughters and sons - in - law, Patsy and Jim Swink of Shelby and Jane and Paul Swink of Cherryville; seven grandchildren, Chris Swink, Brian Swink, Mark Swink, Jason Dayberry, Greg Dayberry, Anna Dayberry Barrett and Tim Ingle; and four great - grandchildren.

Born Aug. 19, 1935, in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Elmer Sr. and Hettie Deviney Hayes. She had worked as a waitress and was retired.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Craig Allen Kitchens Sr.; a brother, J.B. Hayes; and a sister, Juanita H. Newton.
She is survived by two sons, Ricky Kitchens of Charlotte and C. Allen Kitchens Jr. of Long Beach, Calif.; two daughters, Janet Lewis and her husband Bill of Charlotte and Teresa Jones of Kings Mountain; three brothers, C.E. Hayes Jr. of Lincolnton, Billy T.
