BLACKSBURG, S.C. - Mrs. Carol Moorhead Wilkins, 54, of 355 Turner Road, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, at St. Francis Hospital in Greenville.
The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at St. John's United Methodist Church. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends today from 1 to 9 p.m. at the home, 355 Turner Road, Blacksburg.

Loren Shuford
LAWNDALE - Mr. Loren Robert Shuford, 88, of 1619 West Stagecoach Trail, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at Hospice at Wendover.
Born Aug. 19, 1912 in Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Robert "Bob" L. and Maudie Grigg Shuford. He retired from J.P. Stevens Co. in 1981 after more than 40 years of service. He was a member of Palm Tree United Methodist Church and the Sunset Sunday School Class. He was a member of Camp Call Masonic Lodge #534.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gene Dedmon; a grandson, Dennis Dedmon; and a brother, Clayton Shuford.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Floyd Shuford; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dwight and Barbara Shuford of Shelby and Warren and Joyce Shuford of Polkville; a daughter, Joan S. Dedmon of Shelby; four brothers, Ernest Shuford, Ed Shuford and Howard Shuford, all of Shelby and Alvin Shuford of Lawndale; four sisters, Dorothy Martin of Fallston, Mae Beth Whitner and Betty Jean Weaver, both of Hickory and Kay Barrett of Belwood; seven grandchildren, Thea D. McCurry, Sharon D. Still, Jeanne Dedmon, Richard Shuford, Sandra Satterfield, Lisa Shuford and Daryle Shuford; and six great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Palm Tree United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Scott officiating.
The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 to 8 at Stamey Funeral Home.

HICKORY - Mrs. Georgia Mae Hill, 68, of 325 3rd Ave. S.E., formerly of Forest City, died Monday, Oct. 16, 2000, at J.R. Frye Regional Medical Center.

GROVER - Mrs. Geneva Cherry Sides, 85, of 203 Hardin Circle, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, at her home.
A native of Gaston County, she was a daughter of the late James Carl and Frances Cloninger Cherry. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church, Grover, where she was a member of the WMU. She retired from the textile industry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Franklin Sides; and three sons, Gene Raymond Sides, Danny Lavon Sides and James David Sides.
She is survived by a son and his companion, Robert Franklin Sides Sr. and Eula Mae Gibson, both of Blacksburg, S.C.; four daughters and sons-in-law, Joanna and Bert Godwin of Lake City, S.C., Margaret "Honey" and Steve Heafner of Todd, Sylvia and Roger Davis of Grover and Lynn and Larry Simmons of Gaffney, S.C.; five sisters, Florence Maltba of Gastonia, Margaret Grigg of McAdenville, Vertie Robinson of Clover, S.C., Kathleen Harbin of Holden Beach and Evelyn Davis of Stanley; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Doug Ramsey and J.D. Martin officiating.
Burial will follow at Grover Cemetery.

Casper Brown
HICKORY - Mr. Casper Brown, 71, of 1103 26th St. S.W., died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, at High Point Regional Medical Center.
A native of Grover, S.C., he was a son of the late Jake and Lillie McCluney Brown. He retired from Siecor Optical and was a member of Morning Star First Baptist Church, where he was a former trustee and a member of Gospel Star Chorus .
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Vinnie Anderson Brown of the home; a daughter Coretta T. Brown of Hickory; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ted and Harriet Brown of Hickory and Leroy Sweezy of Shelby; three brothers, Harrison Brown, James Brown and Douglas Brown, all of Shelby; a sister, Asiroe Brown of Shelby; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The funeral will be Sunday at 4 p.m. at Morning Star First Baptist Church with the Rev. Webster E. Lytle officiating.
Pallbearers for the service will be his nephews.
Burial will follow at Southside Cemetery.

Annie Moore
CHARLOTTE - Mrs. Annie Mae Deaton Moore, 87, of the Oakdale community, Charlotte, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at her home.
A native of Gaines-ville, Ga., she was the daughter of the late William Harrison and Julie Frances Rowland Deaton. She was a biscuit maker at Oakhill Mini-Mart and was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church in her youth. She was voted as having the best biscuits in Charlotte in 1999 by Charlotte Magazine.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Cleveland Moore; two daughters, Linda Benfield and Judy Frances Moore; seven brothers, Claude Deaton, Minor Deaton, Vester Deaton, John Deaton, Fletcher Deaton, Carl Deaton and Hubert Deaton; three sisters, Esther Dover, Cora Wallace and Dora Hanes; and a grandson, Jeffrey Moore.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Margaret and Billy Gardner and Nancy Moore, all of Charlotte; seven grandchildren, Randy Helms and his wife, Amanda, Kristina Helms, Amanda Moore, Cynthia Benfield, Aileen Benfield, Johnny Benfield and Marla Gardner; five great-grandchildren, Stacy Bush, Stephen Helms, Kayla Mae Helms, Jasmine Benfield and Jaylen Benfield; three stepgrandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home with the Rev. Everette Wallace officiating.
Burial will follow at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

GROVER - Mr. Randy Scott Hopper, 43, of 109 Rob's Court, died Friday, Oct. 20, 2000, at Hospice of Wendover.
A native of Cherokee County, S.C., he was the son of William Connie Hopper of Shelby and the late Lorene Dyer Hopper. He was formerly employed with Bontiz Construction Co., Charlotte. He was a charter member of Morning Star Baptist Church and attended New Hope Baptist Church.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Roland Hopper.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Frieda Ann Wilson Hopper; a son, Randy Scott Hopper of Gaffney, S.C.; two stepsons Brian Calvert of Shelby and Jamie Lee Calvert of Grover; a daughter and son-in-law, Kelly Michelle and Donald Shull of Waco; a brother and sister-in-law, Dale Eugene and Julie Hopper of Shelby; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Kaye H. Nations and Richard Lemmons of Shelby and Judy Arlane H. and Roger Gantt of Jacksonville; and a sister-in-law and her husband, Gale and Milton Chatlin of Shelby.

SHELBY - Mrs. Jenell Noblitt Dishman, 67, of 126 Delmar Road, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late William Arthur and Pearl Wease Noblitt. She was a member of Putnam Memorial Baptist Church and a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Wayne Dishman; her stepmother, Beulah Noblitt Ridings; a stepson, Chris Macklveen; and a nephew, Chris Scott Wright.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Deborah and Troy Bell of Boiling Springs, Wendy and Kelly Dellinger and Dawn Ann Dishman, all of Shelby; a stepdaughter, Phyliss Greene of Hudson; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill "Tommy" and Linda Noblitt of Palm Dale, Calif.; a sister, Ann Noblitt Wright of Shelby; two grandchildren, Amber Roberts and Clay Spivey; four stepgrandchildren, Desaree Greene, Tiffney Bell. Melissa Pendleton and Nikki Bell; a great-grandchild, Dalton Cole Bennett; and a nephew, Robert Lee Wright.

A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Preston Allen Sr. and Mattie Finny Hopper. He was a retired feed and seed worker at Elmore Feed and Seed Co.
He is survived by his wife, Florine Hush Hopper; two sons, Minister Melvin Hush and Edward Hush of Lawndale; six daughters, Eunice Brown, Dora Sanford, Janie Hush, Mary Hunt, Lorine Hopper and Cindy Cowans; eight brothers, Leroy Hopper, Cliff Allen, Wilbur Hopper, Preton Allen Jr., Larry Allen, Jerry Allen, Sam Allen and Ray Allen; six sisters, Ruth Surratt, Ruth Ross, Bessie Mae Marble, Lester Rudsill, Pat McDowell and Christeen Wright; 25 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Lawndale First Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Houze officiating.
