LAWNDALE - Mr. Rush Cline, 78, of East Main Street died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000 in Cabarrus County.
A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late David Alexander and Novella Wright.
He was retired supervisor with Cleveland Mills and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. He was an Army veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Estelle McCurry Cline; two brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie C. and Connie Cline of Omaha, Neb.; a daughter, JoAnne Henderson of Concord; a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Jim Cooke of Concord; and a brother, Jerome Cline of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Stamey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Cecil Buff officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 2-3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Hoover Causby
LAWNDALE - Mr. Charles "Hoover" Causby, 74, of 131 Wes Cook Road, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at Carolinas Medical Center.
A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Ernest and Lottie Orders Causby. He was retired from KMG Minerals and was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Costner Causby; a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Dennis Bowman of Casar; four sisters, Juanita Smith of Rhodhiss, Hattie Smith, Gennie Parker and Eare Causby, all of Casar; a granddaughter, Emily Bradshaw of Casar; and a grandson, Kiel Bowman of Casar.
The funeral will be tonight at 8 at St. Paul Baptist Church with the Revs. R.A. Brackett and Ernest Speagle officiating.
A graveside service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the church.
Stamey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Bud Sain
CHERRYVILLE - Mr. Farrell "Bud" Sain, 64, of 2822 Johnstown Road, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000.
The funeral will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Gospel Way Baptist Church in Cherryville with the Revs. Herman Simpson and Wayne Key officiating.
The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
Burial will be Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Cherryville.

GREENSBORO - Mr. James Theodore "Teddy" Williamson, 47, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000.
A memorial service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Wardell Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church in Shelby.Memorials may be made to the church.

UNION MILLS - Mr. Thomas Rudolph Twitty, 82, of 150 Old Union Mills Road, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, at his home.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Union Hill A.M.E. Zion Church with the Rev. Sister Petty officiating.
The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
Burial will be at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends after the service at the church.

J.C. Byers
SHELBY - Mr. J.C. Byers, 68, of 2044 Green Oak Dive. died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000 at Century Care of Shelby.
A native of Cleveland County, he was a son of the late James and Inez Roberts Byers.
He was retired from Drexel Furniture Co. after 25 years and was employed by Standard Corp. for KoSa. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Susie Mae Daniels Byers; a daughter, Carolyn Jean Byers Dover; a sister, Annie Mae Hardin; and three brothers, John Byers, Billy Gene Byers and Jimmy Joe Byers.
He is survived by a daughter, Janet Byers of Shelby; four sons, Ricky Byers of Shelby, Charles Benjamin Byers of Columbia, S.C., Gregory Byers of Florida, and Joseph Holmes of Gaffney; S.C.; one brother, Bruce Byers of Boiling Springs; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Eula and Beulah Mitchell of Boiling Springs and Alma and James Surratt of Gaffney; 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Enloe Mortuary. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30-2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Luther Duckett
RUTHERFORDTON - Mr. Luther Ogden Duckett, 70, of 2890 U.S. 64 East, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2000, at Rutherford Hospital.
The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Wilson Baptist Church with the Revs. John Edwards and Carl Street officiating.
The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Burial will be at New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.

Avery Hargro
SHELBY - Mr. Avery "Ty" Hargro, 23, died Monday, Nov. 27, 2000, at Upstate Medical Center in Gaffney, S.C.
A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of Dorothy Hargro and Robert Elliott of Shelby. He was employed at Hamrick Inc. in Gaffney and Kmart of Shelby. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Clover Hill Lodge No. 10 and Calvin Hill No. 1 Royal Arch Chapter.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Regina Dora Jolly Hargro; a brother and sister-in-law, Reginald and Angela Hargro of Conover; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John W. Hargro; a nephew, and niece, Kailyn D. and Bethany M. Hargro of Catawba County; a stepnephew, Julius Smith of Catawba County; his mother and father-in-law, Gloria and Pete Jolly of Shelby; a brother-in-law, Jerome Jolly of Shelby; and three nephews Davonta, Jayden and Unterio Jolly of Shelby; two sisters-in-law, Rita and Tina Jolly of Shelby; three great aunts and 10 great uncles.
The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Webb Memorial Lawn.
The family will receive friends today from 2-3 p.m. at the church

Jean Marie Hamlet
MOORESBORO - Mrs. Jean Marie Parker Hamlet, 63, of Race Path Church Road, died Friday, May 18, 2001, at Carolinas Medical Center.
A native of Washington, D.C., she was the daughter of the late Fred and Evelyn Johnson Parker. She was a homemaker and a member of Full Gospel Assembly.
She is survived by her husband, Edwin Hamlet of the home; four sons, Michael Mayer of Lockport, Ill., Ronald Johnson of Forest City, Marvin Hamlet of Chesnee, S.C., and Richard Hamlet of Shelby; four daughters, Sharon Morrison and Karen Packer, both of Mooresboro, Linda Ivonelli of Phoenix and Joanne Mode of Henrietta; two brothers, Larry Parker of Barstow, Calif., and Tony Parker of Bakersfield, Calif.; one sister, Kathy Ledbetter of Barstow; 21 grandchildren; and six great - grandchildren.
The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Full Gospel Assembly with the Revs. Ronnie Robbins and Richard Hamlet officiating. Burial will be in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home in Cliffside.

SHELBY - Mr. Hugh Will Street, 63, of 2245 Emerald Mine Road, died Saturday, May 19, 2001, at his home.
A memorial service will be Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home with Dr. Gene Ware officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.

MOUNT OLIVE - Jesse Joseph "Joe" Anderson, 90, of 724 Club Knolls Road, died Saturday, May 19, 2001.
He is survived by a son and daughter - in - law, Glenn and Glenda Anderson of Kings Mountain.

Cleo Naman
SHELBY - Mrs. Mary Cleo Johnson Naman, 58, of 1200 Hardin Drive, died Saturday, June 2, 2001, at her home.
A native of Washington County, Ga., she was a homemaker and a member of Central United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Luther Hunter Johnson.
She is survived by her mother, Susie Kate Johnson of Tennille, Ga; ; a daughter, Traci Montiel Naman of Atlanta; two sons, Carl Hunter Naman of Charlotte and Eric Hawkins Naman of Waco; two sisters, Lillie J. Bruce of Martinez, Ga., and Dorothy J. Calumus of Appling, Ga; and three brothers, Lamar Johnson of Chula Vista, Calif., and Marvin Johnson and Earl Johnson, both of Tennille.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church with Dr. Joe Reeves officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will be Thursday at Zeta Cemetery in Tennille following a second funeral service at 2 p.m. at E. K. May Funeral Home in Tennille.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. in Tennille.

L.D. Ruppe Greene
MOORESBORO - Mrs. L. D. Ruppe Green, 89, of Prospect Church Road, died Sunday, June 3, 2001, at Rutherford Hospital.
A native of Cherokee County, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Lula Horton Ruppe. She was retired from Cone Mills, Cliffside Plant, and was a member of Prospect Baptist Church where she was a member of the choir, Sally Jolley Sunday School Class and the W.M.U.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Alva Greene.
She is survived by her sister, Eloise Short of Mooresboro; a son, Charles Greene of Gaffney; and two granddaughters, Christina Greene and Anna Greene.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Wednesday at Prospect Baptist Church with the Rev. John Goforth and Dr. Thomas Gossett officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home.

Joshua Cole
FOREST CITY - Mr. Joshua Mark Cole, 16, of Forest City died Sunday, June 3, 2001, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Alexander Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Elkins officiating. Burial will follow at Alexander Mills Cemetery.

Donnell Daves
SHELBY - Mr. Donnell Daves, 82, of 2517 Eric Road, died Sunday, June 3, 2001, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
A native of Rutherford County, he was a retired textile worker and member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. He served in the Navy in World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents James Thomas and Lala Hamrick Daves.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Irene Richards Daves of Shelby; five brothers, Homer Daves of Bostic, Huber Daves of Atlanta, Jim Daves, Howard Daves and Jesse Daves, all of Shelby; three sisters, Doris Turner and Elaine Whitaker, both of Shelby, and Patsy Long of Spartanburg, S.C.; four daughters and sons - in - law, Deloris and J. W. "Jake" Bridges of New House, Verlene and Charles Suttles of Gastonia, Glenda and James Beaver of Shelby and Cynthia and Steve Watts of Fallston; 10 grandchildren and seven great - grandchildren.
The funeral will be at Mount Olive Baptist Church on Tuesday at 11 a.m. with the Revs. Gerald Porter and Alton Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 to 8 at Stamey Funeral Home.
