ELLENBORO - Mr. Bobby Lee Skinner, 68, of 271 Bradley Road, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, at his home.
The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Corinth Baptist Church with the Rev. Ad Hopper officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home in Cliffside.
Haywood Oliver
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mr. Haywood Oliver, 68, of 812 Landing St., died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.
The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel of Harris Funeral Home with the Revs. Larry Laws and Robert Haynes officiating. Burial will be in Mountain Rest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday night from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.
Minnie Haynes
HICKORY - Ms. Minnie Haynes, 83, of 1034 3rd S.E., died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at Pell Care Nursing Home.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Dockery's Funeral Home, Shelby.
Clyde Winn
MOORESBORO - Mr. Clyde Edward Winn, 77, of 809 Goode's Grove Road died Friday Feb. 23, 2001, at Fair Haven Nursing Center.
A native of Rutherford County, he was a son of the late P.D. and Nancy Keeter Winn. He was retired from Fiber Industries, was a member of Cliffside Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Valorie Holt Winn; and a son, Ronald Edward Winn.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Wanda Winn of Forest City; a daughter-in-law, Karen Elms Winn of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Virginia Davidson of Rutherfordton and Elizabeth Greene of Belmont; five grandchildren, Steven Winn, Meghan Winn, Allison Winn, Patti Randall and Christy Sutton; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home, Cliffside, with the Revs. Steve Chastain and L.W. Toney officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Cleveland Memorial Park.
Ernest Jolley
ELLENBORO - Mr. Ernest Boyd Jolley, 88, of Oak Grove Church Road, died Saturday Feb. 24, 2001, at White Oak Manor Nursing Center.
The funeral will be Monday at 3 p.m. in the Oak Grove United Methodist Church with Dr. Norman Hubbard officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 1:30 p.m. until the service at the church.

Elizabeth Cansler-Thrasher
CEDAR HILL, MO. - Mrs. Gaynell Elizabeth Parrish Cansler-Thrasher, 86, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2001, in St. Louis County, Mo.
A native of Kings Mountain, she was the daughter of the late Ada and William Wallace Parrish. She was a member of Presbyterian Church of Cedar Hill and was a nurses' aide.
She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Diana and Michael B. Wheeler of Cedar Hill and Karen Elizabeth Cansler of Asheville; a son, Samuel William Thrasher Jr. of Winston-Salem; two sisters, Helen Yates and Daisy Barrett, both of Kings Mountain; a grandson, William Lee Thrasher; a great-granddaughter; and many other relatives and friends.
A farewell memorial celebration will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the recreation building of First Presbyterian Church in Kings Mountain.

MOORESBORO - Mrs. Polly Ann Humphries English, 68, of 133 Sumner Road, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, at her home.
A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Lucille Beason Humphries. She was the former owner and operator of Polly's Florist in Six Points and was a graduate of Mooresboro High School and Howards Business College. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she was the pianist for 28 years and was a former Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by one son and a daughter-in-law, the Rev. Reese and Wendy English of Albermarle; two daughters and a son-in-law, Donna English of the home and Lisa and Jeff Murray of Mooresboro; one sister and brother-in-law, Rahama and Tom Kirby of Mooresboro; five grandchildren, Rebecca English, Lucas Murray, Karleigh English, Bradley English and Lydia Murray; a sister-in-law and her husband, Lib and Joe Sepaugh; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with Dr. David Irish and the Rev. Mike Frazier officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at McKinney-Landreth Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Rahama and Tom Kirby at 120 Sumner Road in Mooresboro.
John Sain
LAWNDALE - Mr. John Lester Sain, 99, of 1273 Belwood-Lawndale Road, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, at Hospice at Wendover.
A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Edgar Amos and Elizabeth Boggs Sain. He was retired from Drexel Furniture and was also a farmer. He was one of the oldest members of St. Peter's United Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Brackett Sain; two sons, Melvin Sain and Flay Sain; a daughter, Wilma Willis; two brothers, Russell Sain and Garland Sain; and three sisters, Jeanette Hicks, Minnie Sain, and Mae Falls.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Noris and Betty Sain of Wynne, Ark.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Doris and Flay Costner of Shelby and Roberta and Russell Crotts of Roebuck, S.C.; a sister, Mary Elam of Charlotte; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's United Methodist Church with the Revs. Steve Kiser and Fred Hill officiating.
The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Bryte Reynolds
SHELBY - Mrs. Bryte Turner Reynolds, 80, of 1605 N. Post Road, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born May 5, 1920, in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Furman Wylie and Sarah Jane Wellmon Turner. She retired from the housekeeping department of Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Glenn Reynolds, and her sister, Mae Wright.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Austin Panther and Sue and Gary McNeilly, all of Shelby; three sisters, Iva Sain of Polkville and Aileen Head and Irene Turner, both of Gastonia; a grandson, John Panther of Shelby; two granddaughters and their husbands, Krista and Scott Thornburg of Kings Mountain and Jennifer and Brett Reynolds of Shelby; and one great-granddaughter, Brittney Thornburg of Kings Mountain.
The funeral will be tonight at 7:30 in the chapel of Stamey Funeral Home with Dr. Harold Fite and the Rev. Neal Efird officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7 Wednesday night before the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Sue and Gary McNeilly, 1607 N. Post Road, Shelby, and the home of Peggy and Austin Panther, 310 Cherryville Road, Shelby.
A graveside service will be held Thursday morning at 10 at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Effie Lyerly
SHELBY - Ms. Effie S. Lyerly, 83, of 2116 Dana Place, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at White Oak Manor.
Born May 20, 1917, in Iredell County, she was a daughter of the late Chalmes Newton and Sara Jane Cynthia Ann Dowdy Sharpe. She retired from Thonet Industries.
She is survived by a daughter, Delores "Dee" Rhinehardt of Shelby; a son, Lonnie Arleen Cavin of Chicopee, Mass.; three grandchildren, Stephanie "Susie" Gambill of Lexington and James Paul Staley and Adrian Devon Myers, both of Shelby; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
No visitation is planned, and a memorial service will be held at a later date in Statesville.

MOORESBORO -Mr. Woodrow McDaniel Sr., 82, of 230 Hines Road, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Hicks Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Raymond Byrd, Johnny McDaniel and Allen Kinney officiating. Burial will follow in the Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.

FOREST CITY - Mr. J.D. Shropshire Jr., 58, of 151 Farmside Drive, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at his home.
Private services were held Tuesday at Adaville Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. George Whitmire officiating.

Frances Mosteller
SHELBY - Mrs. Frances Lynn Mosteller, 80, of 2609 Spring Valley Terrace, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born Dec. 23, 1920, in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Felix and Ida Swarringer Lynn. She retired from Ora Mill Co. She was a member of Dover Baptist Church, where she was a member of Esther Sunday School Class, the Lord's Supper Committee, the Dover-Ora Woman's Club and a former choir member. She volunteered with the Cleveland Regional Medical Center auxilliary.
She is survived by her husband, Loyd Mosteller of the home; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sandra and Ernest S. Smith of Raleigh and Becky Mosteller of Charlotte; two grandsons, Gary Smith of Manassas, Va., and Ken Smith of Raleigh; and a sister, Thelma Allen of Shelby.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Dover Baptist Church with the Revs. Phil Bailey and Jerry Rumfelt officiating.
The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.

SHELBY - Mr. Lewis Franklin "Frank" Goins Sr., 71, of 842 Ed Hamrick Road, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
Born Feb. 2, 1930, in Burke County, he was the son of the late Samuel and Dora Watts Goins. He was a retired auto body repairman.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Loyce Goins, and three brothers, Whitey Goins, Jim Goins and Floyd Goins.
He is survived by his wife, Ellie Williams Goins of the home; a son, Frank Goins Jr. of Shelby; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jan Reynolds of Lattimore and Joyce and David Crumpton of Shelby; three brothers, Tom Goins of Maiden, John Goins of Shelby and Bobby Goins of Lawndale; three sisters, Margie Reynolds of Connelly Springs, Betty Wellmon of Lawndale and Nancy Henshaw of Manassas, Va.; five granddaughters, Stefanie Loveday, Chrissy Davidson, Jessica Horne, Brittany Reynolds and Jada Reynolds; and three great-grandchildren, Noah Loveday, Caitlyn Davidson and Amber Horne.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Stamey Funeral Home with Pastor Larry G. Johnson Sr. and the Rev. Doug Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park.

KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mrs. Annie Jane Ransom McDaniel, 89, of White Oak Manor, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at her residence.
A native of Glades County, Fla., she was the daughter of the late Allen J. and Annie J. Ransom. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Dillon, S.C., and was retired from Fieldcrest-Cannon in Laurinburg, S.C.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lacy McDaniel, and a son, Herbert Caulder.
She is survived by three grandchildren, the Rev. Ron Caulder and his wife, Kristy, of Kings Mountain, Wyman Phillips and his wife, Lynette, of Minot, N.D., and Anne Pittman of Dillon, S.C.; and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be today at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, Dillon, with the Revs. D.E. Frye and Ron Caulder officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 before the service at Kannady Funeral Home, 1252 S.C. 57 South, Dillon.
