NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - Mr. Ronald Wade Prince, 54, died Monday, April 16, 2001, at Seacoast Medical Center.
A native of Charlotte, he was born April 12, 1947, a son of Margaret Long Prince of Charlotte and the late Coran Ellis Prince. He was an Army veteran. He owned Ron's Maintenance Service.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three sons and two daughters - in - law, Ron and Deborah Prince and Rodney and Candy Prince, all of Charlotte, and Andy Locklear and his fiancée, Sue Garrett, of North Myrtle Beach; three brothers, Bobby Prince and Gene Prince of Charlotte and Ray Prince of Mount Holly; and a sister, Sissy Clark of Conway, S.C.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at McMillan - Small Funeral Home. Private burial will be in the National Cemetery in Salisbury at a later date.

CHERRYVILLE - Ms. Muriel Lee Patterson, 66, of 709 Maple St., died Monday, April 16, 2001, at her home.
The funeral will be Thursday at 4 p.m. at Missionary Methodist Church, with the Revs. Bob Holtsclaw and Jerry Lail officiating. Burial will be in City Memorial Cemetery.

KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mr. Charles Estes Parton, 87, died Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Mountain Rest Cemetery, with the Revs. Robert Haynes and Wray Barrett officiating.
The family will receive friends after the graveside service and at other times at the home.

Theodore Hartman
BELWOOD - Mr. Theodore Columbus Hartman, 94, of 1039 Belwood - Lawndale Road, died Friday, May 4, 2001, at Hospice at Wendover in Shelby.
Born in Cleveland County on Oct. 12, 1906, he was a son of the late Quincy and Elizabeth Hartman. He was a former farmer and retired in 1968 from Cleveland County Schools after 17 years in maintenance at Belwood School. He was a member of Normans Grove Baptist Church, where he was a former deacon and a choir member.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister - in - law, Durham Hartman, Swain Hartman and Irod and Hazel Hartman; four sisters and three brothers - in - law, Getty and Grady Davis, Myrtle and Raymond Warlick, L.O.E. and Howard Dayberry and Velma H. Sisson; and two sisters - in - law, Janois (Mrs. Byron) Hartman and Grace (Mrs. Jareen) Hartman.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Ruby Dayberry Hartman of Belwood; three daughters and two sons - in - law, Jewell "Judy" and Horace Panther of Belwood, Arline and J.B. Hicks Sr. of Easley, S.C., and Joyce Lutz of Belwood; two brothers, Jareen Hartman of Gastonia and Byron Hartman of Toluca; two sisters and brothers - in - law, Vera H. and Alvin Glenn of Belwood and Ruth H. and Hillard Anthony of Vale; a sister - in - law, Willie Mae (Mrs. Swain) Hartman of Vale; three grandsons, J.B. "Buddy" Hicks Jr. and his wife, Susan, and Brent Hartman Hicks, all of Easley, and Scott Panther of Hattiesburg, Miss.; four granddaughters, Sarah Panther Bush and her husband, Danny, of Tomball, Texas, and Lori Lutz, Lindy Lutz and Elizabeth Lutz McIntyre, all of Belwood; and eight great grandchildren, Adam Bush, Amanda Bush, Ashley Bush, Andrew Bush, Caroline Hicks, Grace Hicks, Sarah McIntyre and Rebecca McIntyre.
The funeral was held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Normans Grove Baptist Church, with the Rev. Cecil Buff officiating. The body was placed in the church 30 minutes before the funeral. Burial was in the church cemetery.
The family received friends Saturday at Stamey Funeral Home.

Nellie McDaniel
SHELBY - Mrs. Nellie Amanda McDaniel, 92, of Century Care, died Saturday, May 5, 2001, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
A native of Hall County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Milton and Sally Truelove Pitchford. She was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawson W. McDaniel; five brothers, Robert Pitchford, Claude Pitchford, Homer Pitchford, Ed Pitchford and Oscar Pitchford; an infant sister; six half - brothers, Everette Pitchford, Ferd Pitchford, Marion Pitchford, Louis Pitchford, Dean Pitchford and Howard Pitchford; and three half - sisters, Viola Davis, Lucille Melton and Frances Glaze.
She is survived by a son, Joe William McDaniel of Ellenboro; three daughters, Sarah Simmons of Gastonia, Edna McDaniel Brackett of Ellenboro and Raye McDaniel Hiney of Charlotte; two brothers, Guy Pitchford of Ellenboro and Ray Pitchford of Georgia; two sisters, Lola Mae Hawkins and Lorene Coffey, both of Forest City; a half - brother, Dwight Pitchford; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and one great - great grandchild.
The funeral is today at 11 a.m. at Drury Dobbins Baptist Church, with the Revs. Steve Barham and Bobby Deviney officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family received friends Sunday.

SHELBY - Mr. Joseph A. "Joe" Kistler, 58, of 5207 Canterbury Road, died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at the home.
A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of Mary Ledford Kistler of Shelby and the late Joseph Brady Kistler. He retired from Sears - Roebuck & Co. as a receiving manager. He was in the National Guard for 33 years and was a platoon sergeant. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sherry Fountain Kistler of the home; two sons, Michael Scott Kistler and Steven Phillip Kistler, both of Shelby; one brother and sister - in - law, Charles Dean and Sandy Kistler of Shelby; one niece, Karla Kistler of Shelby; and one nephew, Chuck Kistler of Shelby.
The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church with Dr. Joseph Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in Kistler's UMC Cemetery.

SHELBY - Mr. Anthony Arnold "Ankie" Armstrong, 45, of 1805 Riveria Drive, died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
A native of Gaston County, he was the son of Henry Lee and Edith Armstrong of Cramerton. He was employed at S and B Concrete and worked at PPG Industries for 12 years.
He was preceded in death by a son, Eric Watson; a sister, Jacquelyn Armstrong; a brother, Henry Lee Armstrong; and a sister - in - law, Gwendolyn Morgan.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Sherise Armstrong; one son, Sterling McDaniel of the home; one daughter, Takeisha McDaniel of Shelby; four brothers and two sisters - in - law, William Henry and Carlene Armstrong of Charlotte, John Earl Armstrong, Arthur Allen Armstrong and Tony C. and Stephanie Armstrong, all of Lowell; two sisters, Marceline Armstrong of Lowell and Iva Elaine Armstrong of Cramerton; one brother - in - law, Andy McDaniel of Norfolk, Va.; three grandchildren, Jaquaila Shade, Victoria Watson and Malik McDaniel; and nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Saturday, May 5, 2001, at 3 p.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. R.E. Devoe officiating. Burial will be in Webb Memorial Lawns.
