Timothy Frazier
LEBANON, Pa. - Mr. Timothy M. Frazier, 53, of 998 Miller St., died Saturday, July 24, 1999.
A native of Lebanon, Pa., he was born on Dec. 11, 1945, the son of the late Arthur F. and Mildred J. Bohn Frazier. He was a veteran who served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a retired HVAC maintenance technician for Indiantown Gap after 18 years of service. He was a member of Mount Lebanon Lodge No. 226 F&AM. He was a member of Friendship Fire Company.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Frazier.
He is survived by his children, Murray Lynn and Fabio Quezada of Grantville, Timothy M. Frazier II of Shelby; two grandchildren, Emily Elizabeth Quezada of Grantville and Cheyenne Marie Frazier of Shelby; two brothers, Arthur G. Frazier of Lebanon and Terry P. Frazier of Hartford, Wis.; his fiancee, Barbara Puchalsky of Lebanon; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon, Pa., 17042. Burial will follow at the National Cemetery at Fort Indiantown Gap, Annville.
The family will receive Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Crestview Baptist Church, Youth Fund, 1090 Old Boiling Springs Road, Shelby, N.C., 28152.
Mary "Billie" Finney
ELLENBORO - Mrs. Mary D. "Billie" Bumgardner Finney, 82, of 3041 Hollis Road, died Monday, July 26, 1999, at White Oak Manor in Rock Hill, S.C. A native of Cleveland County, she was born the daughter of the late Alfred Clayton and Mamie Wilson Bumgardner. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Worth Everette Finney; one brother, A.C. Bumgardner; and two sisters, Sue Johnson and Ruth Vickers.
She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Alvin and Margaret Darty and Dean and Linda Darty, all of York, S.C. and Billy and Gail Finney of Lattimore; one brother and sister-in-law, Claude and Doris Bumgardner of Hickory; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Lucy Dellinger of Hickory and Jean and Robert Ramsey of New House; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Cagle officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Fred Tate Jr.
SHELBY - Mr. Fred Albert Tate Jr., 70, of 816 E. Graham St., Ext., died Monday, July 26, 1999, at his residence.
He was born in Rock Hill, S.C., on Aug. 7, 1928, the son of the late Fred Albert Sr. and Alta Putnam Tate. He graduated from Rock Hill High School and Furman University. He was a member of John Knox Presbyterian Church in Shelby where he was a former Clerk of Session and a Sunday school teacher. He was a Shriner and a former member of the S.C. National Guard. He was the retired owner of Fred Tate Company. He was preceded in death by three brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Campbell Tate; two daughters and one son-in-law, Marilyn Odom of Rock Hill, S.C. and Jean and David Hiebert of Greenville, N.C.; two grandsons, John Jeffrey Odom of Shelby and William Tate Hiebert of Greenville, N.C.; and two brothers, Dr. Jesse Tate of Greenville, S.C., and Michael Tate of Rock Hill. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at John Knox Presbyterian Church with the Rev. William S. Troutman officiating. Burial will follow at 4 p.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery in Rock Hill.

SHELBY - Mr. Maynard B. Ware, 74, of 611 Dellinger Road, died Sunday, July 25, 1999, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Thomas Bunyan and Maggie McDaniel Ware. He was retired from Ware's Auto Body Service. He was the co-owner. He was a member of Zoar Baptist Church. He was a Navy veteran, once aboard the U.S. Navy-Destroyer Escort, one of the first ships to go to Japan following the war. He was a life member and a past commander of AmVets. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia P. Ware; and six brothers, J.D. Ware, Buford Ware, Woodrow Ware, Horace Ware, Marshall Ware and Charles Ware. He is survived by his wife, Alice T. Ware of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Freida Ware of Golden Valley, Garry and Donita Ware of Shelby and Hoyt and Gina Tessener of Raleigh; one daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Billy Blanton of Shelby; two brothers, George E. Ware and Gene Ware, both of Shelby; two sisters, Delta Humphries and Inez Eskew, both of Shelby; and ten grandchildren. He is survived by his parents, Willis O. and Nell Camp Harmon of Kings Mountain; and one brother and sister-in-law, Glenn L. and Margie Harmon of Leesburg, Va. Liddie "Lib" Reid
HICKORY - Mrs. Liddie "Lib" Lorie Terry Reid died Monday, July 26, 1999, at Catawba Memorial Hospital.
A native of Rutherford County, she was born on August 28, 1930, the daughter of the late Gaither and Rilla Mae Erwood Terry. She was a homemaker and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ in Morganton.
She is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Reid of the home; three daughters, Rita Kaye Reid Byrd of Connelly Springs, Karen Reid McDaniel and Martha Mae Reid McDaniel, both of Newton; four sons, Jason William Reid, Julius Lee Reid and Mason McLaine Reid, all of the home and Kevin Glen Reid of Granite Falls; two brothers, Guy Terry of Rutherfordton and Julius Jack Terry of Hickory; two sisters, Dorothy Lawson of Shelby and Merle Stringfield of Sawmills; and 10 grandchildren.
The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Oakland Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Joel Cook officiating. The body will be placed in the church one hour before the service. A native of Dallas, Texas, she was born the daughter of the late Grady Lee Thrift and Frances Cody Thrift Watts. She was a member of Double Shoals Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Leonard Joe Elmore and Scott Wade Elmore, both of Lawndale; one brother, Billy Lee Thrift of Shelby; her step-father, Leonard Watts of Lawndale; and four grandchildren.

A native of Red Springs, he was born the son of the late Samuel Clayton Putnam and Onnie Johnson Putnam McSwain of Shelby. He was a retired self-employed truck driver. He was a member of North Lafayette Street Baptist Church.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Edward "Ed" Putnam. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his partner, Loona Hoppes Sansing of the home; one step-son, Roger Sansing of Shelby; one step-daughter, Patricia Gardner of Shelby; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Wallace and Peggy Putnam of Shelby and Kenneth and Linda Putnam of Greensboro; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

SHELBY - Mr. Thomas Biddix Morrison, 82, of 668 McBrayer Homestead Road, died Wednesday, July 28, 1999, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
A native of Cleveland County, he was born the son of the late Phillip and Devady Allen Morrison. He was retired from J and C Dyeing. He was also a retired farmer. He was a member of Davidson Memorial Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Morrison; one daughter, Linda Blanton; four brothers, Robert Morrison, Grady Morrison, Eubert Morrison and Melvin Morrison; and two sisters, Lily Allen and Alpha McFarland.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie Virginia Willis Morrison of the home; five sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Evelyn Morrison of Shelby, Steve and Vicki Morrison of Mooresboro, Larry and Betty Morrison of Lawndale, Roger and Brenda Morrison in Boiling Springs and Ronnie and Cathy Morrison of Caroleen; six daughters and four sons-in-law, Betty Putnam, Nancy and Royce Davis, Peggy and Gary Wright and Tracy Webb, all of Shelby, Robin and Terry Price and Sandra and Ralph Hiebert, all of Boiling Springs; 24 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mr. Arthur "Cheepy" Norman Pearson, 73, of 403 Chestnut St., died Saturday, July 31, 1999, at White Oak Manor.
Born in Cleveland County, he was a former employee of Elmer Lumber Co. and a member of Family Worship Center, Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Essie Thompson Pearson; his parents, Robert and Emma Hawkins Pearson; three brothers, Everette Pearson, S.R. Pearson and Tillman Pearson; and a sister, Lona Mae Gaddy.
Surviving are three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Roy and Elvia Pearson, Olland Pearson, Flay and Margaret Pearson, all of Kings Mountain; and a sister, Roberta Cobb of Detroit.
The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Family Worship Center, Church of God, with the Rev. Roger Woodard officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain Rest Cemetery.
