Janice Dickover
CONWAY, S.C. - Mrs. Janice VanDyke Dickover, 65, of Castlewood subdivision in Conway, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at Conway Hospital.
A native of Lattimore, she was the daughter of the late Edwin R. and Ocie Holland VanDyke. She was a member of First Baptist Church in West Myrtle Beach, S.C.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Max VanDyke, Billy E. VanDyke, Glen VanDyke and U. Ray VanDyke.
She is survived by her husband, W.M. Dickover of Castlewood subdivision in Conway; one son, Ray A. Mode Jr. of Conway; three daughters, Judy M. Mode of Surfside Beach, S.C., Dawn M. Currie of Pawleys Island, S.C., and Brenda L. Teseniar of Newberry, S.C.; two brothers, Robert S. VanDyke and James M. VanDyke, both of Lattimore; two sisters, F. Pauline McWhirter of Lattimore and Patsy W. Morgan of Claremont; four granddaughters; one great-grandson; and two great-granddaughters.
The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Cecil Dukes
RUTHERFORDTON - Mr. Cecil Wilbom Dukes, 69, of 312 Collett St., died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at Rutherford Hospital.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the chapel at Crowe Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove UMC Cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 at the funeral home.
Ella Camp
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mrs. Ella Clark Camp, 88, of White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000, at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain.
A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Fannie Ethridge Clark. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Grover and was the owner/operator of Grover Florist.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Oscar Camp, and one daughter, Geraldine Stewart.
She is survived by one son, R.O. "Hoppy" Camp of Kings Mountain; five daughters, Barbara Acuff and Ginger Davis, both of Grover, Doris Short of Kings Mountain, Shirley Sisk of Long Beach and Toby Owens of Liberty, S.C.; 30 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel with the Revs. Odis Shelton and Richard Horney officiating. Burial will follow at Grover Cemetery.
The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Harris Funeral Home and other times at the home of a daughter, 175 Blackburn Drive, Grover.

RUTHERFORDTON - Mr. Fred Mayse, 80, of Woodland Nursing Center, formerly of Hardin Road, Forest City, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2000, at Rutherford Hospital.

LINCOLNTON - Gracie Leigh Allen, infant daughter of Rob and Monica Willis Allen, died Monday, Jan. 4, 2000, at Gaston Memorial Hospital.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by grandparents, Robert and Rickie Allen and Dennis and Judy Willis, all of Cherryville, and Judy and Mike Cook of Casar; great-grandparents, Tom Huskey of Lincolnton, Garland Martin of Kings Mountain, Gretchen Willis of Shelby and Bill and Josephine Allen of Lincolnton.
A graveside service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery with John Duncan officiating.

Beverly Tignor
KINGS MOUNTAIN - Mrs. Beverly Hughes Tignor, 44, of 2137 Brookforest Drive, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at her residence.
A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Jerrell H. and Shirley Louise Payne Hughes. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Grover. She was a secretary at Champion Construction Co. in Kings Mountain.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Tignor of Kings Mountain; one son, Jason Tignor of Kings Mountain; one daughter, Sarah Beth Tignor of Wilmington; her stepmother, Betty Hughes of Kings Mountain; one sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Ken Meek of Smyrna, S.C.; and two nephews, Zachary Thomas Meek and Kyle Montgomery Meek.
The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Bethany Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain Rest Cemetery.

A.V. Allen
SHELBY - Mr. A.V. Allen, 81, of 914 Buffalo St., died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
A native of Cleveland County, he was born March 9, 1918, the son of the late Jim and Viola Thomas Allen. He was retired from Keeter Ford after 30 years of service, where he worked as a mechanic.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kintaris Jones; and one great-grandson, Lee Charles Jackson.
He is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Brenda Allen and Willie Jay Jones, Juanita Allen Powell and Mattie Evelyn Allen Jackson, all of Shelby; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Genesis Chapel with the Rev. Charles Rudisill officiating. Burial will follow at Webb Memorial Lawns.
The family will receive friends Wednesday 30 minutes before the service at Genesis Funeral Services.

RUTHERFORDTON - Mrs. Marie Marglene Sisk Kiser, 78, of 710 N. Washington, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, at Rutherford Hospital.

Lela Price
LAWNDALE - Mrs. Lela Mae Randall Price, 85, of 133 Big Hill Road, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, at Britt Haven.
A native of Cleveland County, she was born on May 13, 1914, the daughter of the late James Alfred and Hattie Pruitt Randall. She was retired from Drexel Furniture, where she worked as a finisher. She was a member of Mount Gilead Baptist Church in Burke County.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Adam J. Price; one grandson, William "Billy" J. Price; and one sister, Velma Rea Tallent.
She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, J.P. and Pheobe Price of Hildebran, the Rev. Robert Price and the Rev. Jackie and Mary Price, all of Lawndale; one grandson and his wife, Michael and Carla Price of Hildebran; one foster grandson and his wife, John and Tonya Whitehair of Hickory; three great-grandchildren, Amanda Price, Alan Price and Alison Price, all of Hildebran; two foster great-grandchildren, Jonathon Whitehair and Jacob Whitehair, both of Hickory; and four brothers, J.D. Randall of Morehead City, Boyd Randall, Brady Randall and Lloyd Randall, all of Lawndale.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Thursday at Mount Gilead Baptist Church with the Revs. Jackie Price, Julius Lowery and Kevin Fulbright officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. Burial will follow at Olive Grove Baptist Church.

Jack Greene Sr.
SHELBY - Mr. Jack Lee Greene Sr., 60, of 4926 Pineburr Drive, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Willie and Elizabeth Church Greene. He was a retired self-employed plumber.
He is survived by one son, Jack Lee Greene Jr. of Shelby; three daughters and one son-in-law, Beth Greene, Courtney Greene, and Nicole and Wilson Brooks, all of Shelby; one brother, Floyd Greene of Shelby; two sisters, Geraldine McCurry and Shirley Dover, both of Shelby; and two grandchildren, Danielle Mullinax and Jesse Greene, both of Shelby.
A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Duncan's Creek Presbyterian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Brauer officiating.

Michael Dixon
MONTICELLO, Fla. - Mr. Michael James Dixon, 53, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, at his sister's home in Hilton Head Plantation, Hilton Head Island, S.C.
A native of Shelby, he was born on March 17, 1946, the son of the late Thomas James Dixon and Bettie Jean Wright. He was a Navy veteran.
He is survived by two sons, Mason Dixon and Thomas Cameron Dixon, both of California; one brother, John Allen Dixon of Tallahassee, Fla.; two sisters, Suzanne Roberts of Bluffton, S.C., and Cathe Dixon of Hilton Head Island; and one grandchild.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the home of his aunt, Jury Ross, in Monticello.

A native of Wilmington, she was the daughter of the late W.M. "Dick" and Elizabeth "Lib" Arrowood Eaker. She was raised in Kings Mountain. She was an employee of Collins Entertainment and was a Baptist.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Gregory Randolph.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Susan Randolph and Rodger W. York of Taylors, S.C.; one grandson, Michael Mahaffey; and three special friends, Diane and Phil Hathcox of Taylors and Larry Satterfield of Greenville.
