SHELBY - Mr. Mitchell Clark McDaniel, 18, of 1184 Scenic Drive, died Tuesday, April 11, 2000, in Shelby.
A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of Michael Steve Sr. and Kim McDaniel and Gail Wilson and Danny Pilgrim, all of Shelby. He was a student at Cleveland Community College and was a member of First Baptist Church of Shelby.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Michael Steve McDaniel Jr. of Shelby; two sisters, Morgan McDaniel and Maggie McDaniel, both of Shelby; his grandmother, Helen Wilson of Hendersonville; his grandfather, Marvin McDaniel of Shelby; two aunts and uncles, Chris and Debi McDaniel and Mark and Sherri McDaniel, all of Shelby; cousins, Bradey McDaniel of Chapel Hill, Taylor McDaniel of Atlanta, Jennifer Allen, Wesley McDaniel, and Emily McDaniel, all of Shelby.
The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Canoy and the Rev. Eric Shamblin officiating.
Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends tonight from 6:30 to 8:30 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home.

HICKORY - Mrs. Rosie Mae Roberts Hardin, 86, of Pellcare Nursing Center, died Saturday, April 8, 2000 at Pellcare Nursing Center.
A native of Morgan County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Eddie and Isabel Gaither Roberts. She was a homemaker and a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Willie Hardin of Jacksonville, Fla.; one son, Will Henry Hardin of Shelby; one daughter, Willie Mae Hardin of Far Rockway, N.Y.; three brothers, Coleman Roberts and Edward D. Roberts, both of Richmond, Va., and Roosevelt Roberts of Dayton, Ohio; two sisters, Leatrice R. Pearson of Lenoir and Gladys Langley of Richmond; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Mount Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. S.A. Raper officiating.
Burial will follow at Webb Memorial Lawns.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church.

LINCOLNTON - Mrs. Maude Pritchard Goins, 90, died Wednesday, April 12, 2000 at her home.
Born September 19, 1909 in Johnson City, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late William Howard and Naomia Smith Pritchard. She was a charter member of New Vision Ministries Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Andrew Goins; one son, James W. Goins; and one daughter, Magaline Goins Stamey.
She is survived by one son, Carl A. Goins of Lake Norman; five daughters, Ruby Costner of Shelby, Dot Beard, Renia Rhodes, Frances Humphrey, and Faye Childers, all of Lincolnton; two sisters, Josie P. Cox of Morganton, and Ruth P. Rabb of Florida; 22 grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at New Vision Ministries Church, 661 Clark Creek Road, with the Dr. Michael B. Steen, Dr. Dan Miller and Dr. Joe Buckner officiating.
The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
Burial will follow at Hollybrook Cemetery.

GAFFNEY, S.C. - Mrs. Eunice Allen Hunt, 82, of 587 Beason Road, died Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at her home.
A native of Shelby, she was the daughter of the late George and Cordia Camp Allen. She was a member of Cherokee Creek Baptist Church. She was a retired textile inspector and a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Brackett Hunt; and three brothers, Lonie Allen, Howard Allen, and Weldon Allen.
She is survived by one daughter, Melissa H. Sarratt of Gaffney; two sons, Dr. Donald Wayne Hunt of Greenville and Ronnie Brackett Hunt of Tryon; two sisters, Stella Wright and Ray Dycus, both of Shelby; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Cherokee Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Mike Frazier and John Goforth officiating.
The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.
Burial will follow at Frederick Memorial Gardens.

A native of Oglethorpe County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Shadrach and Nancy Glenn Barrow. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Washington.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vodie Carrington.
She is survived by one son, Wesley "Sonny" McKnight of Washington; one brother, Clarence Barrow of Shelby; two sisters, Emma B. Scott and Fannie Hardy, both of Shelby; one sister-in-law, Jessie Barrow of Shelby; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church in Washington.
Burial will follow at Quantico National Cemetery in Quantico, Va.

SHELBY - Mrs. Frances Alma Campbell Dedmon, 77, of 3602 Bridges Dairy Road, died Thursday, April 13, 2000, at her home.
A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late John Coren and Julia Bell Grayson Campbell. She was a homemaker and a member of Union Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Ervin Dedmon; and three brothers, Rush Campbell, John Campbell, and Charles Campbell.
She is survived by one son, Gregory Mark Dedmon of Shelby; four sisters, Bessie Robinson of Slater, S.C., Beatrice Lee of Lawndale, Ruth Campbell of Shelby and Margaret Hubbard of Belwood; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Shumate officiating.

LAWNDALE - Mrs. Emaleen Morrison Mauney, 71, of 619 Casar-Lawndale Road, died Wednesday, April 12, 2000, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.
A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Cullen Franklin and Bertha Smith Morrison. She was retired after 48 years from Cleveland Mills and was a member of Kistlers United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Laxton Peeler Mauney; one step-daughter, Patsy M. Braswell; and one sister, Ethel Howell.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Janet Morrison of Havelock; three daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Robert Couch of Bostic, Carol and Kenneth Self of Casar and Jeannie and Tim Brooks of Fallston; one son-in-law, Robert Braswell of Charlotte; six grandchildren, Stephen Self, Spencer Self, Suzanne McMurry and her husband Fitz McMurry II, Shane Parker, Jay Morrison, and Hannah Brooks; and two great-grandchildren, Reva Shane Parker and Fitz McMurry II.
The funeral will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Kistlers United Methodist Church with the Revs. Richard Johnson and Joe McMurry.

SHELBY - Mr. Jimmy Lee Lawrence Sr. , 69, of 2321 Oak Grove Road, died Monday, April 10, 2000, at Hospice of Wendover.
A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Eula Mae Lawrence Bell. He was a member of Bethlehem Temple Holiness Church and was a former employee of McKinney Exxon.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife of forty-one years, Betty Sue Lawrence; and his step father, James Bell.
He is survived by three sons, Jimmy Lee Lawrence of Kings Mountain, Harold E. Lawrence of Spartanburg, S.C. and James E. Lawrence of Hemet, Calif.; four daughters, Martha Hogue and Karen Williamson, both of Shelby, Linda Sloan of Kings Mountain, and Christine Mintz of Atlanta; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; and four aunts.
The funeral will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Bethlehem Temple Holiness Church with Bishop O.B. Brintley officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

SHELBY - Mrs. Lois Jones Bowling, 81, of Cleveland Pines Nursing Center, formally of 800 Blanton St., died Saturday, April 15, 2000, at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center.
A native of Cleveland County, she was born April 5, 1919, the daughter of the late Charlie and Elsie Wray Jones. She was retired from the Bus Station Grill after 27 years as owner/operator. She was a member of New Bethel Church of Nazarene of Shelby.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Max "Bud" Bowling; three brothers, Flay Jones, Charles Jones and Fred Jones; and three sisters, Nora Ledford, Lillian Beaver and Nellie Wray.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, William Albert and Mary Anne Greene and Larry Don and Linda Greene, all of Shelby; one daughter and son-in-law, Betty Jo and Richard Watterson of Shelby; one sister, Mozelle Self of Shelby; eight grandchildren, Kay Hoyle, Mike Greene, Cynthia Roberts, Carol Roberts, Diane Mintz, Robert Newton, Mark Greene and Misty Greene; 18 great-grandchildren, Chad Hoyle, Joshua Hoyle, Kristy Sawyer, Paul Greene, Brandon Roberts, Logan Roberts, Clarissa Roberts, Collette Roberts, Daniel Roberts, Jordan Roberts, Matthew Roberts, Kathy Hoyle, Erica Blanchard, Rebecca Hoyle, Dustin Hoyle, Nicholas Greene, Kayla Newton and Danielle Newton
