Mrs. Lillian Darnell Priddy, 88, died Thursday, September 30, 1999 at Meadowbrook Manor in Clemmons, N.C. She was born January 24, 1911 in Wilkes County to Joseph Franklin Darnell and Mary Crabb Darnell. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jessie J.H. Sizemore; her second husband, George W. Priddy; three sisters, Zeola Darnell, Pauline D. Nichols, and Willie D. Beeson; and two brothers, Dewitt Darnell and Lester Darnell. She is survived by her son, Bobby W. Sizemore and wife, Peggy White Sizemore; two grandsons, William R. Sizemore and Mark A. Sizemore and wife, Mary; three great-grandchildren, Ashley, Christopher, and Nicholas Sizemore; her sister, Pansy D. Windsor; her brother, Chester E. Darnell; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 2, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. at Cool Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Elkin, N.C. with Rev. Jim Bowen officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, October 1, 1999 from 7-9 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to Cool Springs Baptist Church, 1467 Cool Springs Church Rd., Elkin, N.C. 28621 or Pine Grove United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1130 Jonestown Rd., Winston-Salem, N.C. 27103.

SAPP
Mr. Bill Harvel Sapp, 75, of Winston-Salem, died Wednesday, September 29, 1999 at his home. He was born March 24, 1924 in Kernersville, N.C. to Edward and Sallie Harvel Sapp. Mr. Sapp was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and a veteran of World War II serving in the 101st Airborne Division. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Geraldine H. Sapp of the home; two sons, Jimmy Sapp of Defunick Springs, Fla. and Todd Sapp and wife, Veronica of Winston-Salem; one granddaughter, Nichole Sapp; three step-grandchildren, Tanya, David, and Jamie Koon; two great-grandchildren, Elexus Sapp and Katlyn Koon; and a devoted sister, Catherine Clodfelter of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 1999 at Antioch Baptist Church will Dr. Donald Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Sapp will lie instate at the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. SEAFORD
MOCKSVILLE -- Mrs. Gladys James Seaford, 77, of N.C. Hwy 801 South, died early Wednesday morning at Autumn Care of Mocksville after being in declining health. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday in Eaton Funeral Chapel with Rev. Rusty Morrison and Rev. Robert Hiatt officiating. Burial will be in Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family is receiving friends and relatives at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Shirley S. Spry. They request memorials be considered for Davie County Hospice, c/o Mrs. Janet Blair, P.O. Box 848, Mocksville, N.C. 27028. Mrs. Seaford was born in Davidson County, November 15, 1921 to the late Sidney and Annie Hill James and was a retired inspector with Dixie Furniture. She was a member of Fork Baptist Church and enjoyed flower gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Clifford Seaford in 1967, a son, James Seaford in 1990, and by a son-in-law, Joe Spry in 1981. Surviving is her daughter, Shirley Seaford Spry of Mocksville; three grandchildren, Jeff Lamb, Jaclyn Seaford, and Tracie Williams; two great-grandchildren, Dillon Lamb and Ciera Williams; a brother, Richard James of Lexington; and a daughter-in-law, April Ferguson of Advance. Eaton Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. Seaford.

STEELMAN
Helen Joan Steelman, 69, of Steelman Lane, Winston-Salem, died Tuesday, September 28, 1999 at Meadowbrook of Clemmons, N.C. She was born August 14, 1930 in Davidson County the daughter of James Paul and Kathleen Nifong Clodfelter. She was married to Avery C. Steelman, Jr. on January 27, 1951. Mrs. Steelman was a faithful member of Hebron United Church of Christ, where she was a member of the choir. She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Terry Steelman in 1991 and her older brother, James Ray Clodfelter. Surviving are her husband, Avery C. Steelman, Jr. of the home; three children, Debbie Steelman Keck and husband, Paul of Singapore, Kevin Steelman of Winston-Salem, and Belinda Steelman Pruett and husband, Andrew of Raleigh, N.C.; four grandchildren, Jennifer Keck, Kathleen Keck, Jacob Pruett, and Katelyn Pruett; two sisters, Margie C. Sink and Opal C. Vestal; and two brothers, Rev. James Paul Clodfelter and Charles S. Clodfelter all of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 2, 1999 at Hebron United Church of Christ by Rev. Jeffrey F. Hammonds. The body will lie instate from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday, October 1, 1999 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek. Memorials may be made to Hebron United Church of Christ, 129 Hebron Church Rd., Winston-Salem, N.C. 27107 or to the American Diabetes Association.

VOGLER
COOLEEMEE -- Mrs. Janie Kerley Vogler, 72, of Center Street, Cooleemee, passed away at her home on Wednesday evening, September 29, 1999. Her husband, Thomas Vogler of the home, survives her. Mrs. Vogler was born November 5, 1926 in Davie County to the late Isom E. Kerley and the late Essie Dunn Kerley. Mrs. Vogler was a LPN for many years at Rowan Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, N.C. She also served as President of VFW Auxiliary, VFW District Chaplain, VFW District Junior Vice-president, and President of Weslyan Guild. She was a member of C.H.A. (Cooleemee Historical Association) and did volunteer work at Davie County Hospital, Cooleemee School, and Cooleemee Branch Library. She was Secretary of Administrative Board, Sunday school teacher, and choir member at Cooleemee United Methodist Church where she was a member. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Gary T. Vogler and wife, Lynn of Cooleemee, N.C.; two daughters, Lynne V. O'Neal of Cooleemee and Amy V. Young and husband, Shane of Mocksville; two brothers, Jerry W. Kerley of Mocksville and Leroy I. Kerley of Salisbury; two sisters, Katherine H. Young of Mocksville and Peggy H. Hill of Cooleemee; two grandchildren, Eric T. and Joel E. O'Neal; and two step-grandchildren, Julie Crotts and Allan Crotts. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Jack Kerley. Family will receive friends on Friday, October 1, 1999 from 7-9 p.m. at Davie Funeral Service, LLC Chapel 416 Valley Road, Mocksville, N.C. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 2, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at Davie Funeral Service, LLC Chapel with the Reverend Dennis Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Legion Memorial Park in Cooleemee, N.C. WATKINS
Mr. Bonnie Harper (Jack) Watkins, 91, of Winston-Salem, died Thursday, September 30, 1999 at Meadowbrook Terrace. Mr. Watkins was born January 11, 1908 in Forsyth County to Walter Odom and Mary Elizabeth Harper Watkins. He was a charter member of Parkway Baptist Church and was retired from RJR Tobacco Co. after 47 1/2 years of service. Mr. Watkins was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Irene Heggie. Surviving are a daughter, JoAn Willard and husband, Bill of Winston-Salem; a son, Rev. W. Eugene Watkins and wife, Marilyn of Kure Beach, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Rev. Michael Willard of Kernersville, N.C., David Willard of Cabot, Arkansas, Daniel Willard of Hatteras, N.C., Bonnie Clemments of Newport, N.C., Jim Willard of Watauga, Texas, Barry Watkins of Wendell, N.C., Michelle Watkins, and Chris Watkins both of Wilmington, N.C.; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 2, 1999 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel by Rev. W. Michael Willard and Rev. Steve Clayton. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday, October 1, 1999 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek.

WATKINS
Mr. Russell J. Watkins, 96, of Ooltewah, Tenn., formerly a long-time resident of Winston Summit Apartments, died Tuesday evening, September 28, 1999. A native of North Wilkesboro, N.C., he spent most of his life in the Winston-Salem area. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was retired from Hanes Knitting Mill, (now known as Sara Lee Knitting) in Winston-Salem with forty-one years of service. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Winston-Salem. He has spent the last three years of his life in Ooltewah, Tenn. with his daughter. Mr. Watkins was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Georgie Butner Watkins, and one son, James Lester Watkins of Mt. Airy, N.C. Survivors include his daughter, Annie Mae Watkins Tripp of Ooltewah; one son, Harold Gray Watkins of Winston-Salem; one brother-in-law, Roy E. Butner of Winston-Salem; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 2, 1999 at 1:30 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery in Tobaccoville with Rev. J. Marion Rector officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, October 1, 1999 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Vogler & Sons Reynolda Road Chapel.

BARTHOLOMEW
Laura Shaw Bartholomew, 82, wife of the late Charlie W. Bartholomew passed away at N.C. Baptist Hospital Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, after a brief illness. She was born July 22, 1918, in Menands, N.Y. to Bessie Gardiner and Archie M. Shaw. She was a faithful member of Central Terrace United Methodist Church and the Wesley Sunday school class. Mrs. Bartholomew retired from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County school system. She is survived by a son, Charles ''Butch'' Bartholomew and wife Cece of Winston-Salem; a sister, Marion S. Jarvis of Winston-Salem; and two brothers, Arthur (Ruth) P. Shaw of Winston-Salem and Ralph (Maureen) Shaw of Lexington. She had two grandchildren, Dana (Stewart) Sloan of Yadkinville and William Bartholomew of Wilmington. She was very proud of her great-grandchild, Cameron Charles Sloan of Yadkinville. She had several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bartholomew was always a believer in the power of knowledge and in an effort to help others, she donated her body to benefit medical science. The family may be contacted at the home of her son, Butch. A memorial service, conducted by the Rev. David Greene, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000, at Central Terrace United Methodist Church, 3 E. Devonshire St., Winston-Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Terrace United Methodist Church.

CAVENAUGH
Patricia True Marshall Cavenaugh, 65, of Winston-Salem, died Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born in Shelbyville, Ky. July 28, 1935 to Kenneth Todd Marshall and Florence Jones Marshall. She graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1952. She graduated with a bachelor of arts from Duke University in 1956. She was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, the Chapel class and a life member of United Methodist Women. She was a sustaining member of the Junior League of Winston-Salem. Mrs. Cavenaugh was a member of the Spade and Trowel Garden Club and a life member of the Garden Club of North Carolina. She was a past president of the Garden Club Council of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County and served on its advisory board for 15 years. She co-chaired the Dixie Classic Fair Flower Show and alternately served as horticulture chairman and classification chairman for years. She was a nationally accredited flower show master judge and was considered an authority on local and state horticulture. In 1998, the Garden Club Council awarded her its highest honor, the Howard Award for her outstanding service. She was a member of the North Carolina Shell Club and had a passionate interest in genealogy. Surviving are her husband, James Arthur Cavenaugh, Jr.; two sons, James Arthur Cavenaugh III and wife, Evan , and Kenneth Marshall Cavenaugh and wife, Pam; four grandchildren, Katherine Hearn, James Arthur IV, Catherine Elizabeth and Meredith McGuire; an aunt, Josephine Jones Ray and cousins, Ronald Dudley Ray, Billie Jo Works Matthews and Alan Lee Walker. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at the home, 3621 Will Scarlet Road , Monday. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Centenary United Methodist Church. After the service, there will be a graveside ceremony for the family. Memorials may be made to the Garden Club Council of Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Beautification Endowment Fund, 100 Reynolda Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27106 or Centenary United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 658, Winston-Salem, NC 27102. The arrangements are by Vogler & Sons Reynolda Road Chapel.

FULLER
Mrs. Naomi Foster Fuller departed this life Saturday, Sept. 30, 2000 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was a native of Wilson and a long - time resident of Winston-Salem. She taught for more than 50 years in the public schools in Winston-Salem and was active in various civic organizations. She was a long - time member of United Metropolitan Baptist Church. She is survived by her nieces, Mrs. Barbara Allen of Montgomery, Ala., Mrs. Carlotta Hunter of Dale City, Va., Mrs. Marjorie Moore of Newport News, Va. and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at the chapel of Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Graveside service will be held at Resthaven Cemetery in Wilson. The services will be officiated by the Rev. J. Donald Ballard. Clark S. Brown & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of services and arrangements.
