HUTCHENS
MOCKSVILLE -- Mrs. Shelby J. Allen Hutchens, 63, of 601 North passed away Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Hutchens was born Oct. 25, 1937, in Surry County to Pauline Softly Allen and the late Clyde Allen. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Allen. She was a member of Turnetine Baptist Church and retired from QST in 1993. Mrs. Hutchens is survived by her husband of 45 years, William R. Hutchens; a son, William G. Hutchens of Mocksville; a daughter, Kathy J. Hutchens of Midland; two grandchildren, Bryan Hutchens and Christine Hutchens; a brother, Fred Allen of Cooleemee; and five sisters, Joanne Barney of Mocksville, Jane Sammons of Cooleemee and Peggy Gaither, Glenda Call and Darlene Naylor of Mocksville. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at Davie Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Joe Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Turnetine Baptist Church Cemetery. KERRIGAN
Mrs. Mary Marsh McGee Kerrigan, 74, of Winston-Salem passed away Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Mrs. Kerrigan was born in Forsyth County to Floyd Hampton and Nora White Marsh on Nov. 12, 1926. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church for the past 50 years. She also was owner and operator of Sir Winston Restaurant of Winston-Salem. Mrs. Kerrigan was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Kerrigan; a sister, Dorothy Marsh; and a brother, Arvil Marsh. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Carlton and husband Roger of Kernersville; a son, Mr. Larry E. McGee and wife Vickie of Advance; grandchildren Cheryle and Keith Carlton, Michael McGee and Michelle Barnette; great-grandchildren Maegan, Mitchell McGee and Broc Barnette; sisters Mrs. Frances Hicks of Mocksville and Mrs. Peggy Whisenant of Advance; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at St. Johns Lutheran Church with Pastor Philip C. McLain and Pator Kevin Armbrust officiating. DAWKINS
Mrs. Betty Ann Tysinger Dawkins, 65, of Monroe died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. She was born July 11, 1934, in Davidson County, the daughter of the late Laddie Raymond and Sue Lucille Shaw Tysinger. She was a North Carolina public school teacher with the Monroe Union County Public School System, a graduate of High Point College, was active in the civic work of Monroe and Union County, especially in the Union County Community Arts Council and Central United Methodist Church. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Central United Methodist Church with the Revs. J. Matthew Burton Jr. and Stephen W. Pillsbury and Dr. Donald W. Haynes officiating. Entombment will follow in the church columbarium. She is survived by her husband, Koy Ellis Dawkins of Monroe; one daughter, Susann Dawkins-Osborn and husband, Scott of Charlotte; one son, Koy Ellis Dawkins Jr. and wife, Lara Koplin Dawkins, of Richmond, Va.; and one brother, Larry Raymond Tysinger of Greensboro. EBERT
Mr. Donald Harrison Ebert, 72, of Winston-Salem passed Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at Forsyth Medical Center. A native of Forsyth County, he was born May 5, 1927, to Theodore and Kate Harrison Ebert. He was a member of Ardmore Moravian Church and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was owner of Ebert Appraisal and Adjusting Co. He was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Williams, and two brothers, Lawrence and Stokes Ebert. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Alicia Fulton Ebert of the home; one daughter, Donna Williams; two sons, Craig Ebert and wife, Catherine, and Tom Ebert and wife Diane; five grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2000, at The Moravian Graveyard with the Rev. Kevin Frack officiating. The family wishes to thank the nurses at Forsyth Medical Center, also Dr. Hinson, Dr. Wally and Dr. Paschold. Mrs. Peggy Pruitt Eller, 64, of Country Club Road died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, at her home. She was born June 29, 1935, in Wilkes County to Matthew M. and Ada Wyatt Pruitt. She was retired from Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas ''Tom'' Eller; a daughter, Janet ''Susie'' Frye; and two sisters, Georgia Cooper and Pansy Eller. Surviving are two sons, Danny Eller and wife, Lisa, and Ronny Eller and wife, Brenda, all of Winston-Salem; two grandsons, Nick and Tommy Eller; three granddaughters, Amanda and Stephanie Frye and Chrissy Thompson; a sister, Barbara Royal of Hudson; a half brother, Jack Younce of Rising Sun, Md.; and a son-in-law, Danny Frye of King. Peggy was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Benny Greene officiating. FAWCETT
MOUNT AIRY -- Mrs. Elizabeth Martin Fawcett, 85, of 830 Rockford St., Mount Airy, and formerly of 606 Country Club Road, Mount Airy, the widow of George Thomas Fawcett Sr,. passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born in Patrick County, Va., Feb. 24, 1915, a daughter of the late Dr. Moir S. Martin and Emma West Martin. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Karen Fawcett and George Thomas Fawcett Jr. and Mary Fawcett, all of Mount Airy, and three granddaughters, Anne Fawcett, Elizabeth Fawcett and Frances Fawcett, all of Mount Airy. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Fawcett was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 11, at 10 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church. The service will be conducted by Rev. Wylie Miller. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 2, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home of Mount Airy. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

HURDLE MILLS -- Chizuko Tominaga Francis, 70, of Pine Road, died Tuesday at her home. She was born in Yokohama, Japan. Mrs. Francis is the daughter of the late Masage and Yoko Tominaga and wife of the late Vondon Francis. She was a retired employee of AT&T, where she worked in the following cities : Burlington, Winston-Salem and Oklahoma City. She is survived by two sons, Charlie Fuller and wife Lynn and Jim Fuller and wife Sylvia, all of Hurdle Mills; six grandchildren, Leslie and April Fuller, Toma Fuller, Nicole Browning Scott and Jeff Waddell; and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the home of her son, Jim Fuller, 579 Robert Whitfield Road, on Friday, March 3, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. No memorial service is planned. HARRIS
Whitlow Reid Harris, 76, died Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, in Richmond, Va., following a period of declining health. A graveside service was held Feb. 29, in Eastside Cemetery in Rockingham. He was born Dec. 26, 1923, in Peachland, the son of the late Rev. Whitelaw Reid Harris and Willie Kelly Harris. He was predeceased by his wife, Vessie McRae Harris, and a brother, Jospeh Crayton Harris. He graduated from Walnut Cove High School. He attended High Point College (now High Point University) and graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in engineering. He was a licensed structural engineer in N.C. Before his retirement, he was a partner in Richmond Steel and Welding Co. in Rockingham. During World War II, he served as a pilot of PBM and PBY flying boats as an ensign in the Navy Air Corps over the Caribbean and in the South Pacific from 1943 to 1946. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Ray Crayton and Susan Harris of Winston-Salem and Michael Reid Harris and Lizette Gecel of Richmond, Va.; brothers, Kenneth F. and Dr. J. Braxton Harris of Hendersonville; sisters, Mrs. Lou Harris Frye and husband, Robert, of Hickory and Shirley G. Harris of Greensboro.
HODGE
ELKIN -- Mrs. Kay Cave Hodge, 48, of Pleasant Hill Drive died Wednesday, March 1, 2000, at her home. She was born Jan. 6, 1952, in Yadkin County to Bobby G. Sr. and Frances Saunders Hoots. She worked several years at Forsyth Memorial Hospital, Yadkin Nursing Center and was presently at Health Services Unlimited. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are her husband, Jerry Hodge of the home; two sons, Kinney Cave of Yadkinville and Adam Hodge of Elkin; brothers Bobby Gray (Connie) Hoots Jr. and Ray (Judy) Hoots; both of Yadkinville; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Gentry Family Chapel conducted by the Rev. Don Stevens and Dr. Don Stephens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Gentry Family Funeral Service, Highway 601 N., Yadkinville.

Infant Nicole Jessup went to be with the Lord Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, at Forsyth Medical Center. Surviving are her mother and father, Grant and Kerri Jessup; a twin brother, Alexander; her sister, Hailey; and a half-brother, Tyler, all of Pinnacle; her grandparents, Ronnie and Brenda Jessup of Pinnacle, Terry Hill of Winston-Salem and Linda Bost of King; her aunts and uncles, Regina Craddock of Winston-Salem and Ron and Gay Jessup of Pinnacle; and five cousins. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2000, at Crestview Memorial Park by the Rev. Gene Sherrill.
