PARKER
BOONVILLE -- Mrs. Beulah Mae Caudle Parker, 80, of Roy Road died Saturday, April 1, 2000, at Meadowbrook Terrace of Clemmons. She was born June 1, 1919, in Yadkin County to the late Arthur Richard and Mary Pearl Caudle. Mrs. Parker was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thad Parker; four sisters; and five brothers. She is survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. The funeral will be 5:30 p.m. Monday at Gentry Family Chapel by the Rev. Lawrence Warden. Burial will follow in Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Monday before the funeral at Gentry Family Funeral Service on U.S. Highway 601 north of Yadkinville.
RICHMOND
Mrs. Marguerite Hagan Richmond, 85, of Pfafftown died Thursday, March 30, 2000, at Claire Bridge Assisted Living Home in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Richmond was born Oct. 31, 1914, in Kansas City, Kan., to Daniel Leslie and Mary Kathryn Schnieders Hagan. She was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church. Her life revolved around her husband, children and grandchildren. She was always there when the family needed her and she will be greatly missed. Mrs. Richmond was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Milton Richmond, on July 4, 1995. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Rosalind R. Young of Asheville and Mrs. Sandra Petterson of Pfafftown; a son, R. Michael Richmond; four grandchildren, Mrs. Stephanie Y. Bryant and Nicholas, Kristie, and Melissa Petterson; a sister, Mrs. Kathleen Farley of Gravois Mills, Mo.; and a brother, Robert Hagan of Alexandria, Va. A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 3, at St. Leo's Catholic Church. Interment will be at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 30 minutes before the Mass.
SOUTHERN
KING -- Sarah Lee Garner Southern, 86, of King died Saturday, April 1, 2000, at Stokes-Reynolds Memorial Hospital in Danbury. She was born May 21, 1913, in Stokes County to George Clingham and Ada Conrad Garner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilary Southern; and a daughter, Merivale Johnson. Surviving are a daughter, Susan Stewart of Lake Norman; a son, Jerry David Southern of King; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday in the King Moravian Graveyard. The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 9 at Slate Funeral Home in King.
SPRINKLE
Mr. Charles Elwood Sprinkle, 80, of 304 Wake Drive died Saturday morning, April 1, 2000, at Forsyth Medical Center, after an illness of nine weeks. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Vogler's Reynolda Road Chapel by Dr. Charles D. Edwards and the Rev. J. Dwight Cartner. Burial will follow in Elm Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Sprinkle was born in Pfafftown March 11, 1920, son of Clinton E. and Mary Mock Sprinkle. He was a lifetime resident of Forsyth County. Mr. Sprinkle grew up on a farm in the Dozier Community and continued farming as a side line throughout his entire career. He was a CLU Insurance Agent with Jefferson-Pilot for 50 years. In addition, he operated a liability - insurance agency out of his home for many years. Mr. Sprinkle was a lifetime member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and has also attended College Park Baptist Church for a number of years. Survivors include his wife, Rose Marie Tuttle Sprinkle of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Glenda S. and Henry Andrews Jr. of Chapel Hill; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles E. and Vickie Sprinkle of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Maria A. Logan of Hickory, Kelly A. Upshaw of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Charles E. Sprinkle III and Clinton S. Sprinkle, both of Winston-Salem; four great-grandchildren; five sisters, Virginia Sprinkle, Grace Waugh and Martha Conrad, all of Pfafftown; Alma Rose Sink of Kernersville, and Allene Hutchinson of Greensboro; a brother, H. Vance Sprinkle of Pfafftown; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Vogler's Reynolda Road Chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and request that memorials be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
WELCH
Mrs. Hattie Corns Welch, 94, formerly of 4705 Maxwell Road, died Thursday, March 30, 2000, at Wake Forest University-Baptist Medical Center. Mrs. Welch was born in Stokes County to Andrew Jackson and Eliza Ann Rhodes Corns. The funeral will be conducted at Parkway Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m. Monday by the Rev. Daniel Wilkers, the Rev. Jonathan H. Freeman and Dr. Judson Milam. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery. Mrs. Welch will lie instate 30 minutes before the service. She lived most of her life in Winston-Salem and was a member of Parkway Presbyterian Church. For the past 2 1/2 years, she had lived at Vienna Village in Pfafftown. Survivors include a son, Paul Eugene Welch and wife Rebah of Winston-Salem; a daughter, Shirley W. Knott and husband Fred of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Candace WIlmoth, Anthony Welch and wife Debra, Angie Welch and Fred B. Knott III ; and six great-grandchildren, Wesley Wilmoth, Joshua Wilmoth, Gabriel McCutcheon, Courtney Welch, Taylor Welch and Hattie Nicole Knott. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Vogler and Sons Reynolda Road Chapel.
WHITE
EDENTON -- Mary Anne Rose White, 70, of Atria Assisted Living in Virginia Beach, Va. , and formerly of Edenton, died Friday, March 31, 2000, in Virginia Beach General Hospital. Mrs. White was born in Vance County, the daughter of the late George Anderson and Mary Harris Rose. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Graham White Jr. She is survived by two sons, Robert Graham White III and his wife , Barbara , of Shaker Heights, Ohio , and George Rosa White and his wife , Mary Kendall , of Richmond, Va.; a sister, Margaret Rose Long of Winston-Salem; and six grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Monday in Beaver Hill Cemetery in Edenton by the Rev. Thomas Rickenbaker. Miller Funeral Home in Gatesville is in charge of arrangements. CHARLES
MOCKSVILLE -- Mr. Carl S. Charles, 77, of 186 Joy Trail died unexpectedly Thursday, March 30, 2000, at his home. Mr. Charles was born Dec. 9, 1922, in Forsyth County, a son of the late Jacob H. and Kezie Hedrick Charles. Mr. Charles served in the 873rd Airborne division of the U.S. Army during World Wa r II. He was a former employee of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. and was owner and operator of Longview Grocery in Winston-Salem before his retirement. He was a member of Pine Chapel Moravian Church in Winston-Salem, where he had served his church in numerous capacities over the years. He was also active with the Senior Friends group at Pine Chapel. In addition to his parents, Mr. Charles was preceded in death by an infant son, Larry Eugene Charles; a sister, Alma Charles Chapple; and a brother, Clyde Bruce Charles. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mrs. Norma Hemrick Charles of the home; a daughter, Carol C. Taylor and husband Jim of Gastonia; a son, Norm and wife Elizabeth Charles of Mocksville; grandchildren Stacey C. Bunch and husband W.G. of Houston and Eric C. Taylor of Gastonia; and a sister, Mrs. Myrtle C. Ashley of East Bend. The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 2, 2000, at Pine Chapel Moravian Church, 324 Goldfloss St., Winston-Salem. The Rev. Matthew Allen will officiate, assisted by the Rev. George Chiddie. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery. Mr. Billy Joe Clinard II, 30, of Winston-Salem died Saturday, March 25, 2000. He was born Jan. 23, 1970, in Harris County, Texas. He was formerly employed with Salem Electric Co. Survivors include his close friend, Denise Rodar; a grandmother, Josephine Hendrix; an uncle, Larry W. Clinard; an aunt, Lisa Jo Read; and several cousins, all of Winston-Salem. A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday , April 3, at Foster Funeral Home with the Rev. G. Thomas Shelton officiating.
FORCUM
NEW HANOVER -- Mrs. Rachel Petree Forcum of 2317 Princess Place Drive died Friday, March 31, 2000, in New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She was born in Rural Hall on Jan. 28, 1922, the daughter of the late Marshall and Eltha Huffman Petree. Mrs. Forcum was a very active member of Temple Baptist Church. She was active in the Joy Singers, the Baptist Training Union, the Women's Circle, and as a Sunday school teacher. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, James B. Forcum Jr.; three children, Rebecca Forcum Laws and husband Howard of Burgaw , James M. Forcum and wife Susan of Raleigh; and Robert B. Forcum and wife Linda of Holly Springs ; seven grandchildren, Ashton George, Stuart Laws, and Lura, Marshall, Christopher, Adam and Abby Forcum; a great-granddaughter, Emily George. Also surviving are her sister, Dorothy Petree of Rural Hall; and a brother, Joe Petree of Jacksonville, Fla. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 3, in Temple Baptist Church by Dr. James D. Whetstone. Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, in Crestview Cemetery in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends after the services at the home of Dorothy Petree in Rural Hall. FRAZIER
Ms. Ziva Renee' Frazier, 38, of 1431-B Clark Ave., known to family and friends as ''Zip,'' departed this life unexpectedly Monday, March 27, 2000, at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Winston-Salem. She was a graduate of North Forsyth High School, class of 1980, and was employed by General Maintenance Inc. at Wake Forest University-Baptist Medical Center. She is survived by her parents, Elder Wardlow and Darnella Frazier; four brothers, Fredrick Lewis-Frazier (Ernestine), Alvin Frazier, Wardlow Frazier Jr. (Pamela), and Malcom Frazier; five sisters, Sharon Frazier, Tonya Frazier, Gwen Roberts, Shelia Ebrahim, and Vickie Long; a dearly devoted cousin, Rosia Hines, and her children, Tammy and Robin; and a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and other relatives, including her niece Senaia Ziva Inman, her namesake. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday April 3 from Mount Calvary Holiness Church, with Bishop T.R. Rice officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
