LAWSONVILLE - H. Houston Lawson, beloved husband, father and friend (and self-nominated "mayor of Lawsonville"), passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 1, 2004, with family at his side. He is survived by Cheryl, his friend and wife of 25 years; his sons, Ramsey Lawson of Mount Airy and Jacob Lawson of Lawsonville; his daughter, Tracy Lowe of Kernersville and her mother, Gwyn; his stepdaughter, Cathy Rachel of New Orleans; five grandchildren; and many dear friends. Also surviving are his sister, Sue Edwards of South Carolina; a special uncle and aunt, Donnie and Wenda Kirkman of High Point; and a cousin, Irene Bullins of Lawsonville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances and Hardin Moses Lawson; a sister, Bobbie; and a "brother, " Bobby Ray Bull. The family would like to thank the staff at Oak Summit and Hospice and Palliative CareCenter for all their loving care and support. Thanks also to Brother Charlie Kahn and wife Sherry of Madison for their spiritual support and guidance. At Houston's request, there will be no funeral. A memorial celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In his memory and in lieu of flowers, the family asks if you have the opportunity, give someone in need a helping hand. "When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight."

HAMPTONVILLE - Mr. Larry Boyce Moose Jr., 50, of Hamptonville went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Mr. Moose was born April 18, 1954, in Iredell County to Larry B. and Vurlia Moore Moose. He was formerly employed with the Austin Co. Mr. Moose was preceded in death by his father. Surviving are his wife, Deborah Harrison Moose of the home; his mother of Hamptonville; two sisters, Sherry Phillips of Clemmons and Carol Royall of King; a brother, Darrell Moose of Winston-Salem; his mother-in-law, Sudie Harrison of Hamptonville; his sister-in-law, Janice Hartman of Winston-Salem; two brothers-in-law, Ronnie Harrison of Winston-Salem and Larry Harrison of Hamptonville; and a number of nieces and nephews. The Moose family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, June 4, at Gentry Family Funeral Home in Yadkinville. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 5, at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville by the Rev. Brent Meadows and the Rev. Larry Lefler. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Myers, Edward Eugene
Mr. Edward Eugene Myers, 61, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born Feb. 13, 1943, in Forsyth County to the late Charles Edward and Pauline Miller Myers. Mr. Myers was a retired employee of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. and a member of Wisdom Fellowship Church. He was loved by everyone and never met a stranger. Surviving are his wife, Rose Ella Myers of the home; a daughter, April M. Campbell and her husband Doug of Gaffney S.C.; two sons, John E. Myers and his wife Amy of Mocksville and Franklin E. Myers of Marion; five grandsons, Corey, Matthew, Jonathan, Joseph and Alex; three sisters, Elva Meadows and her husband Cletus, Linda Enscore and her husband Roger and Donna Whitt, all of Winston-Salem; and a brother, Billy Myers and his wife Becky of Lewisville. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 5, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Pastor Avery Dunn will officiate. HIGH POINT - Noah G. Myers, 89, formerly of Model Farm Road, died Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at Brightmoor Nursing Center in Salisbury. He was born Sept. 1, 1914, in Meridian, Miss., a son of Henry Grady and Lela Clark Myers. He was a retired employee of Silver Knit Hosiery Co. and Alderman Studios. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of Springfield Friends Meeting. He was active in the Winston-Salem Dance Club, the Miller Park Dance Club and the Allen Berry Dance School, all in Winston-Salem. He was marriage to Myrtle Mae Jabarks Myers, who preceded him in death. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Grace McPherson of Greensboro and Mrs. Margaret Clayton of Bothell, Wash.; and a brother, Edwin C. Myers of New London. The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Sat-urday, June 5, at Sechrest Family Funeral Care Chapel by the Rev. Randy Quate. Burial will be in Springfield Friends Meeting Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today, June 4, at the funeral home in Archdale.

Frances R. Robinson, 78, of 1314 Apple St., Winston-Salem, died Friday, May 28, 2004. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 5, at White Rock Baptist Church. Stoots, Mildred Juanita
TOBACCOVILLE - Mildred Juanita Stoots, 77, of 6148 Tobaccoville Road, Tobaccoville, and formerly of Coalwood, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2004, at her residence. She was born April 16, 1927, to the late Sam and Goldie Phillips Moore. Mrs. Stoots had been a resident of Tobaccoville since 1979. She was a retired nurse and had worked at Grace Hospital and Stevens Clinic in Welch, W.Va., for several years. She attended the Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Stoots; three sisters, Claudia, Mae and Gladys; and a brother, Howard Moore. Survivors include her son, Howard "Eddie" Stoots and wife Becky of Fenton, Mich.; her grandchildren, Heather Hicks and husband Scott of Flint, Mich., and Scott Stoots and wife Toni of Flint, Mich.; her great-grandchild, Christian Hicks; four sisters, Dottie Wagner and husband Roger of Falls Mills, Va., Eva Packer and husband Howard of Swedesboro, N.J., and Willia D. Shatley and Ruth Jean Rutherford, both of North Carolina; and her brother, Clyde Edward Moore of Myrtle Beach, S.C. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 5, at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell, W.Va., with the Rev. Gary Pennington officiating. Entombment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Bluewell, W.Va. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home is serving the Stoots family.

YADKINVILLE - Mrs. Elsie Williams Warden, 81, of Sugartown Road passed away Thursday, June 3, 2004, at her home. She was a devoted minister's wife who loved her Lord, her children, grandchildren, friends and all of her flowers. Mrs. Warden was born July 2, 1922, in Yadkin County to the late Gurney and Rosa Davis Williams. She was a housewife and homemaker and a member of Deep Creek Friends Meeting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Guy Warden, on Oct. 25, 2003; and six brothers. Surviving are her daughter, Shirley (Ted) Angell of East Bend; four sons, Brother Lawrence (Phyllis) Warden, Wade (Kathy) Warden, Donald Warden and Jimmy (Vickie) Warden, all of Yadkinville; two sisters, Cora Hicks and Grace Snow; two brothers, Clay Williams and Hobert Williams; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and her special caregiver and friend from Touched By Angels, Carolyn Kiger. Her funeral service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, June 5, at the Gentry Family Chapel by Brother Steve Johnson and the Rev. Lee Lane.
