Campbell, Elizabeth Pfohl
ARLINGTON, Va. - Elizabeth Pfohl Campbell of Arlington, Va., died on Friday, Jan. 9, 2004. A native of Clemmons, N.C., she is the beloved wife of the late Edmund Douglas Campbell and the daughter of the late Bishop J. Kenneth Pfohl and Bessie Whittington Pfohl. She is the sister of Ruth Grams of Ventura, Calif., the late Mary Lassiter, J. Kenneth Pfohl Jr., James Christian Pfohl and Donald Pfohl. She is the loving mother of Virginia Campbell Holt of Phoenix, Ariz., H. Donald Campbell of Arlington, Va., the Rev. Benjamin P. Campbell of Richmond, Va., and the late Rev. Edmund D. Campbell Jr. Surviving are nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14., at Home Moravian Church. Interment will follow in God's Acre. The family will receive friends in the church parlor after the interment. Davison, Robert "Ted"
GREENSBORO - Mr. Robert "Ted" Davison, 73, of 1712 Three Meadows Road died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at Beacon Place Hospice. Ted Davison was born in Tampa, Fla., on Dec. 3, 1930, to the late Robert and Ouida Duke Davison. He was retired from AT&T Federal Systems as an illustrator and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his daughter, Deirdre Davison and her husband, Richard Latta, of Tega Cay, S.C.; and a stepson, Robert Brandon of Charlotte. A Celebration of Life for Friends will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17 at Ted's home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice at Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, N.C. 27405. Forbis & Dick North Elm Chapel is serving the Davison family.
Eddinger, Nancy Carol Yokeley
Mrs. Nancy Carol Yokeley Eddinger, 67, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born April 19, 1936, in Forsyth County to Ray Jacob and Pearl Brewer Yokeley. Mrs. Eddinger was formerly employed with Jack Guthrie Certified Public Accountants. She was a member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school faithfully for many years. Surviving are her husband, James "Jim" Eddinger of the residence; two sons, James Eddinger Jr. (Lynn) of Germanton and Keith Eddinger (Renee) of Denton; her mother, Pearl B. Yokeley; two brothers Jacob (JoAnn) Yokeley and Marvin Yokeley of Winston-Salem; and two grandchildren, Daniel Eddinger of Denton and Matthew Eddinger of Germanton. The funeral will be conducted Monday, Jan. 12, at 11 a.m. at Mount Carmel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Joe Collins and the Rev. Ken Eller. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Jan. 11, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Parkway. Floyd, Mildred B.
Miss Mildred B. Floyd, 83, of Salemtowne passed away Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at Forsyth Medical Center. Mildred was born in Forsyth County on Dec. 31, 1920, the daughter of Arch Clyde and Beulah Davis Floyd. She was a registered nurse and had taught nursing for 15 years. She was a member of Trinity Moravian Church and a member of Agricultural Extension Homemakers. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, William, Rix and A.C. Floyd Jr. Surviving are several nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law of Winston-Salem and Charlotte. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Vogler and Sons Main St. Chapel. Gambill Jr., Oscar
SPARTA - Mr. Oscar Gambill Jr., 88, of 985 Golf Course Road, Sparta died Friday morning, Jan. 9, 2004, at the Grayson Nursing Rehabilitation Center in Independence, Va. His first wife, Eva Weaver Gambill; four sisters, Letha G. Osborne, Cora Lee Shores, Gena Sue Hughes and Eula Mae Parker preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Truitt Gambill, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Grady and Carol Gambill of Piney Creek; a grandson and wife, Greg and Paula Gambill of Hickory; a granddaughter and husband, Lynn, and Jeff Marcin of Durham; and a great-granddaughter, Allison Suzanne Gambill. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 11, at the Grandview Memorial Chapel with burial in the Piney Creek Methodist Cemetery. The family received friends yesterday evening at the funeral home. Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to the Pine Creek Volunteer Fire Department, c/o Larry Adams, 1234 Pine Creek School Road, Piney Creek, NC 28663. Family and friends will gather at the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church in Sparta after the service for a meal and fellowship. Haneline, Charles Ray
Mr. Charles Ray Haneline, 87, of Winston-Salem passed away Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born March 19, 1916, in Davie County to Martha Lizora Etchison and William Thomas Haneline. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Sarah Yarbrough Haneline, of the home; his brother, Mitchell Haneline, of Newport; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and two sisters. He retired from Hanes Hosiery Mill and was a member of Saints Delight Primitive Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Elder David Hogan and Elder Steve Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, Jan. 11, at the funeral home.

Lewis-Adams, Norma Ann
Mrs. Norma Ann Lewis-Adams, 62, passed away Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at her residence. Norma Ann was born in Forsyth County on Sept. 17, 1941, the daughter of Hobart C. and Lillian Taylor Hester. She was a 1959 graduate of Mineral Springs High School and a member of Ardmore United Methodist Church. Norma Ann was retired from RJR International. She was a strong supporter and lover of animals and had three feline companions, Torie, Toto and Butterboy. Surviving are her husband, Thomas Earl Adams of the home; two stepsons, Jonathan Adams and his wife Larisa, and Jeffrey Adams; three step-grandchildren; and several cousins and special friends. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, at Vogler & Sons Main Street Chapel. Burial will be in Crews UMC Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, at the funeral home and all other times at the home. McElrath, John Marion
Mr. John Marion McElrath, 77, of Winston-Salem died Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at his home. He was born April 2, 1926, in Old Salem to John Marion and Mary Tesh McElrath Sr. John was a 1944 graduate of Old Town High School and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on a baseball scholarship. He served with the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 and retired after 34 years from Western Electric in 1981. He loved gardening, making furniture in his shop at home and spending time with his wife at their mountain cabin in Todd. John was a member of Mount Tabor United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jack McElrath. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Nelda Petree McElrath of the home; two daughters, Molly McElrath Bland and husband, David, of Cary and Marian McElrath Bell and husband, David, of Raleigh; four grandchildren, Lee Graham Bell of UNC Wilmington, Jo Kathryn Bland and Sarah Grayson Bland of Cary and John Tabor Bell of Raleigh; and a sister, Elizabeth "Cricket" West and husband, Don, of Clemmons. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 11, at Mount Tabor United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery.
