SPARTA - Mr. Click D. Stoker, 83, of 160 Logans Way, Sparta, died Saturday morning, Jan. 10, 2004, at his home. He is survived by his wife, Loraine Matthews Stoker of the home; his daughter, Lucille Stoker of Sparta; two sons, Joe Stoker and wife, Brenda, of Sparta and Gray Stoker and friend Delia Moxley of Glade Valley; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Junior Higgins of Ennice; and a sister-in-law, Doris Stoker of Sparta. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, at the Grandview Memorial Chapel with burial in the Glade Valley Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Tolbert, Ada Mae Flippen
MOUNT AIRY - Ada Mae Flippen Tolbert, 94, of 559 Laurel Springs Church Road, Mount Airy, the widow of Roy R. Tolbert, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 9, 2004. Mrs. Tolbert was born Aug. 12, 1909, in Stokes County, the daughter of Samuel M. and Lutishia Boles Flippen. She was of the Pri-mitive Baptist faith and attended the New Laurel Springs Primitive Baptist Church. She was a special "Nana" to ev-eryone she met. She touched the lives and hearts of family, friends and neighbors throughout a large community. She was a homemaker, wonderful cook, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by one son, Carl (Linda) Tolbert; five daugh-ters, Ma-rie Booker of the home, Lou-ise (Stonie) Dunbar and Nina (Bill) Hawks, all of Mount Airy, Penny (Joe) Fritts and Ruby (Tom) Houlden of Win-ston-Salem; foster son, George Atkinson of Thom-asville; a sister, Gracie (John) Tolbert; and two brothers, Sam (Elizabeth) Flippen and Benton (Louise) Flippen of Mount Airy. Mrs. Tolbert was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years; three brothers, Roy, Grover and Claude of Mount Airy; and one sister, Roxie Tolbert of Hendersonville; eight grandchildren, Steve Tablas and Amy Patella of Winston-Salem, Mike Shelton and Chris Dunbar of Greensboro, Sam Holder, Marty Dunbar, Sandy Gwyn and Annette Wight of Mount Airy; and 13 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Jan. 11, at Moody's Funeral Home in Mount Airy. The funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, by the Rev. Eddie Lowe, the Rev. Woody Flippen, Dr. Michael Shelton and Paul Lawson in the chapel at Moody's. Burial will follow in the New Laurel Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Boger, Lester Franklin
MOCKSVILLE - Lester Franklin Boger, 76, husband of Helena Jarvis Boger, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born in Davie County on Aug. 31, 1927, to the late Noah Albert and Nellie Dull Boger. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He was retired from Boger Auto Service and was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church. Mr. Boger is survived by his wife of 53 years, Helena; a son, Jerry (Linda) Boger of Rochester, N.Y.; a daughter, Sandra B. Sizemore of Hamptonville; three grandsons, Scott (Jennifer) Cranfill of Mocksville, Brian Boger of Rochester, N.Y., and Brent Sizemore of Spruce Pine; two brothers, Jack (Ann) Boger of Mocksville and James Boger of Morganton; a sister, Catherine Seamon of Mocksville; and a sister-in-law, Pat Boger of Mocksville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Denton Boger. A graveside service for Mr. Boger will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at Union Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Jim Sanders officiating. There will be no formal visitation. Davie Funeral Service of Mocksville is serving the family.
Bright, William Shuford
PFAFFTOWN - William Shuford Bright of Pfafftown died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born March 25, 1929, in Iredell County to William Vick and Martha Shuford Bright. He was retired from AT&T/Lucent as a technical writer with 32 years of service. He was educated at Oak Ridge Military Institute and graduated from Guilford College. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Sports Car Club of America, Z Club, the National Space Society, and the Planetary Society. He was interested in photography, theatre, electronics and auto mechanics. He was a supporter of Friends Center at Guilford College, the Greensboro Concert Band and the Salvation Army and was an active member and supporter of Winston-Salem Friends Meeting. His parents and a son, William Joseph, predeceased him. Surviving are his wife of almost 50 years, Patricia Cash Bright; a daughter, Susan (Bill) Hunt; and two sons, George Byron and John Louise Bright. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at Winston-Salem Friends Meeting, 3151 Reynolda Road. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Winston-Salem Friends Meeting or the donor's favorite charity.
Brown, Josephine Etta Norman
Mrs. Josephine Etta Norman Brown, 93, of Springwood Care died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born July 22, 1910, in Yadkin County to Hyatt Dula and Millie Wooten Norman. Mrs. Brown was a charter member of Forsyth Friends Meeting. She was employed with Southland Life Insurance Co. for 25 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther B. Brown; two brothers, Hyatt Norman Jr. and Kenyon V. Norman; and two sisters, Conie Hicks and Verdie Cranfill. Surviving are a brother, Astor Norman of Yadkinville; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Victor Murchison and Pastor Barry Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Cox, Nancy May "Dixie"
Mrs. Nancy May "Dixie" Cox, 56, of Winston-Salem, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2003, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She was born Aug. 8, 1947, in Forsyth County to James and Elizabeth Melton Henderson. Mrs. Cox was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church and worked in the cafeteria at North Hills Elementary School. She also worked at City View One Stop on Old Greensboro Road. Survivors include her husband, Harold Cox Sr. of Winston-Salem; a son, Harold Cox Jr. of Winston-Salem; two daughters, Teressa Brown and husband, Richard, of Orlando, Fla., and Marla Gorsuch and husband, James, of King; seven grandchildren, Brandon Cox, Sherry Brown, Frankie Brown, Wesley Brown, Tyler Cox, Taylor Cox and Madison Gorsuch; two sisters; three brothers; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Sara Brackins of Winston-Salem. A memorial service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at Vogler & Sons Main St. Chapel by Jeffrey Boles. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Oct. 1, at the funeral home.

Evans, Montee Sophonia Brown
Mrs. Montee Sophonia Brown Evans of 1947 Kentucky Ave. passed away Thursday, Sept. 25, 2003, at Forsyth Medical Center after several months of declining health. She was born Jan. 14, 1922, in Fountain Inn, S.C., to the late Susie Sullivan Brown and James Wesley Brown Sr. Mrs. Evans graduated from Fountain Inn High School. She was a former member of Mount Carmel AME Church in Fountain Inn, S.C., and united with First Calvary Baptist Church in Winston-Salem after her marriage to Manuel S. Evans in 1941. Mrs. Evans was a faithful and devoted member of First Calvary Baptist Church until her declining health. She was a member of the Busy Bee Club and the missionary department. She was also a member of the Kentucky Avenue Community Club. Preceding Mrs. Evans in death were her parents; and five brothers, Odell Brown, Zeno Brown, Mack Brown, Idine Brown and Rexcell Brown. She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted husband of 61 years, Manuel S. Evans, of the home; two sisters, Carrell Pitts of Fountain Inn, S.C., and Louise Stewart of Piedmont, S.C.; a brother, James Wesley (Geneva) Brown of Greenville, S.C.; nine sisters-in-law, Flora Harris and Lillie Ree Brown of Greenville, S.C., Janie Brown of Fountain Inn, S.C., Alice Brown of Syracuse, N.Y., Sarah Austin and Alice Evans of Winston-Salem, Willie Mae Finley of Buffalo, N.Y., Gussie Taylor Dennis of Los Angeles, Calif., and Annie Hayes of Philadelphia, Pa.; two brothers-in-law, James (Barbara) Evans Sr. of Newark, N.J., and Alvin (Lucille) Evans of Philadelphia, Pa.; a niece reared in the home, Margret (Carleton) Griffin of Simpsonville, S.C.; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family visitation will be from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at First Calvary Baptist Church, 401 N. Woodland Ave., before the funeral service at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Calvin Runnels officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family may be contacted at the home of a sister-in-law, Mrs. Sarah Austin, 129 N.
