COOLEEMEE -- Mrs. Hazel Smith Ijames, 83, of Main Street, died Wednesday, October 20, 1999 at her residence. A graveside service will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Center United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dennis Marshall officiating. The family will be at the home of Mrs. Ijames, 110 Main Street, Cooleemee for visitation. Mrs. Ijames was born September 14, 1916 in Davie County to the late W. Albert and Nora Spry Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Episcopal Church of Good Shepherd of Cooleemee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Ijames in 1987. Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Ijames O'Neal of Wilmington and Penny Ijames Bray of Morganton; two sons, James W. Ijames of Salisbury and Richard L. Ijames of Mocksville; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one sister, Sue Cuthrell; and two brothers, Richard Smith and Lawrence Smith all of Cooleemee.

MOCKSVILLE -- Christopher Mack Jordan, 22, of Petes Lane, passed away October 19, 1999 at Davie County Hospital. Mr. Jordan was born August 3, 1977 in Rowan County to Joe Jordan of Mocksville and Glenda Whitt of Mocksville. He was a 1996 graduate of Davie High School and a member of Blaise Baptist Church. Mr. Jordan was employed by Jockey International in Mocksville. In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Brian and Kevin Jordan; two sisters, Sharon Lawson and Tara Whitt all of Mocksville; paternal grandparents, Loman and Blanche Jordan of Cooleemee; and maternal grandparents, Dan and Mary Presnell of Cooleemee. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 21, 1999 at 8:00 p.m. at Blaise Baptist Church with the Rev. Glenn Sellers officiating. LAWSON
Mr. Robert Edward Lawson, 77, of Winston-Salem, died Monday, October 18, 1999 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born February 15, 1922 to William Robert and Minnie Grubbs Lawson in Behtania, N.C. He married Sarah Walker Lawson on September 29, 1942. To this union was born two children, Sarah Kay Lawson Hurd who died October 21, 1998 and Robert E. Lawson, Jr. (wife Ramona) of Raleigh, N.C.; one son-in-law, Shober W. Hurd of Walkertown; three grandchildren, Thomas Lawson of Raleigh, Terresa Parks (David) of Lexington and David Hurd (Amy) of Rural Hall; three great-grandchildren, Samantha Hurd of Rural Hall, Christopher Hurd of Rural Hall, and Joshua Parks of Lexington; and one sister, Viola Bowman of Clemmons. He served in the Army from 1943 to 1946 in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. He belonged to VFW Post #10471 in Walkertown. He was a charter member of Northside Baptist Church and of the Auditorium Class. Mr. Lawson retired from Vernon Foster Builders. A funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 1999 at Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Easler officiating. The body will lie instate 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
MARTIN
MOCKSVILLE -- Mocksville pays respect to the memory of Mrs. Johnsie Joan M. Martin, 70, of Main Street, Mocksville. Mrs. Martin passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 1999 at N.C. Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem following heart surgery several weeks ago. She was born March 22, 1929 in Yadkin County to the late John Frank and Gertrude Allgood Martin. Mrs. Martin retired in 1989 after working many years in the Davie County School System. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Mocksville. She is survived by her husband of fifty years, R.P. Martin; two sons, Phil Martin of Raleigh, N.C. and Mark T. Martin of Mocksville; four sisters, Mary Brock of Mocksville, Betty Barnes of King, Faye Hilton of High Point, and Ruth Steelman of Kannapolis, N.C.; one brother, Fred Martin of Kannapolis; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Suzanne Ridenhour and two brothers, Paul and Roger Martin. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 21, 1999 at First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. JONESVILLE, N.C. -- Clarice W. McKimie, 71, passed away Sunday, October 17, 1999 as the result of a car accident.
She was born August 13, 1928 in Elkin, N.C. to Nathan Hubert and Pear Woodruff Williams.
She was a 1945 graduate of Boonville School and a member of Island Ford Baptist Church.
She was an employee at McDonalds in Jonesville and the Chamber of Commerce in Yadkinville, N.C.
She was also a volunteer for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and Western, N.C.
Clarice is preceded in death by her husband, Ray on August 19, 1999; her father, Hubert Williams in 1977; her mother, Pearl W. Williams, October 11, 1999; and a granddaughter, Chrissy Elliott in 1991.
She is survived by one son, Richard Casstevens of Hampton, Va.; three daughters, Brenda (John) Detert of Hampton, Christine (J.C.) Elliott, and Darlene (Larry) Crews all of Boonville, N.C.; one step-daughter, Rita Merlenbach of St. Louis, Mo.; and one step-son, Chris McKimie of Bethany, Okla.; seven grandsons; two granddaughters; two great-granddaughters; one brother, Otis Williams of Winston-Salem; and a special friend, Becky Boyles of Mocksville, N.C.
Friends will be received at Island Ford Fellowship Hall, Hwy. 67, Jonesville, Thursday, October 21, 1999 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Services will be conducted on Saturday, October 23, 1999 at 2 p.m. at Island Ford Church with the Rev. Conard Hatfield and the Rev. Sam Hickerson officiating.

KERNERSVILLE -- Mrs. Minnie Hill McMahan "Granny Mac", 91, of 4520 Old Winston Rd., Kernersville, N.C. 27284, died Wednesday, October 20, 1999 at her residence. She was born July 4, 1908, the daughter of the late Samuel and Ellen Huckabee Hill in Brycefield, Tenn. Mrs. McMahan was a homemaker and a charter member of Kernersville Full Gospel Mission, member for over 35 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hobart McMahan; a daughter, Hazel McMahan; four sons, Raymond, Robert, Edward, and Buford McMahan. Surviving are four daughters, Betty Bentley of Kernersville, Mrs. C.B. (Juanita) Rouse, Jr. of Chilhowie, Va., Mrs. Harold (Wilma) Epperson of Marion, Va., and Mrs. Charles (Carolyn "Libby") Gorbett, Jr. of Pasadena, Texas; two daughters-in-law, Ruth McMahan of Marion, Va. and Louise McMahan of Knoxville, Tenn.; one sister, Margaret Bagwell of Hendersonville, N.C.; thirty-six grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; seventeen great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. STATE ROAD -- Mr. Thomas Samuel Mooney, 62, of 123 Adams Ridge Rd., died unexpectedly Wednesday morning, October 20, 1999 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Kennedy Funeral Home Chapel in Elkin by Rev. Don Hayes and Bobby Lyles. Burial will be at Crestwood Memorial Gardens. Mr. Mooney was born in Surry County, May 26, 1937 to C. Floyd and Mae Caudill Mooney. He was a veteran of the Berlin Crisis, he retired from McLean Trucking Co., and was employed by ABT Co. in Roaring River. He was a member of Charity Hill Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Nancy Gentry Mooney of the home; one son, Charles Lee (Theresse) Mooney of State Road; one grandson, Jesse Lee Mooney; one brother, James Jerry (Pauline) Mooney of State Road; and his mother-in-law, Edna Gentry of State Road. ROARING GAP, N.C. -- Mrs. Mary Francis Morrow, 78, of Lake Suzy, Florida, and Roaring Gap, N.C., died Thursday, October, 14, 1999 at Charlotte Regional Medical Center, Punta Gorda, Fla.
She was born September 27, 1921, the daughter of Fred and Luella Hankinson Hallenback.
She was a winter resident of Lake Suzy for more than 11 years.
She was a member of Kingsway Country Club in Lake Suzy, and High Meadows Golf and Country Club of Roaring Gap, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter David Morrow who died in 1996.
Surviving are two daughters, Anne M. Harrison of Lake Suzy, Florida and Marilyn M. Giacometti of Charlotte, N.C.; one brother, John D. Hallenbeck of Wilmington, N.C.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at Grandview Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Sparta, N.C. officiated by Dr. James T. Frazier.
Burial will be in Sparta Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at Grandview Memorial Funeral Home.

Mrs. Willie Finney Reeves, 100, the widow of Rufus C. Reeves, died Wednesday, October 20, 1999 at the Winston-Salem Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
Mrs. Reeves was born on September 22, 1899 in Sparta, N.C. to Lee Smith and Alice Crockett Finney.
She was a member of Maple Springs United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Reeves is survived by a daughter, Miss Maxine E. Reeves of Winston-Salem, and one sister, Mrs. Ethel F. Grubbs of King.
The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at Vogler & Sons Reynolda Road Chapel.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery in Alleghany County.

Mr. Hill Roberson, 84, of 8036 Thorndike Rd., Greensboro, N.C., died October 19, 1999 at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born June 15, 1915, was a retired painter with Gene Hedrick Construction Co., and a member of Smith Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Elsie Black Roberson of the home; daughters, Elizabeth Travis of Nashville, Tenn. and Elaine Loggins of Atlantic Beach, N.C.; grandchildren, Tazma Bright and Amber Vota; great-grandchildren, Morgan Cottle and C.J. Cottle; a sister, Jeanette Dillon of High Point; three stepdaughters, Wanda Hill of Pennsville, N.J., Beverly Long of Winston-Salem, and Robin Gordon of Colfax; three step-sons, Wayne Price of Elmer, N.J., Clinton Price of Walkertown, and David Price of Winston-Salem; ten step-grandchildren; and ten step-great-grandchildren.
