HAUSER
Mr. Wilbur W. Hauser, 85, of Lewisville, died Saturday, October 16, 1999 at his home.
He was born November 1, 1913 in Forsyth County, to Wiley Frank and Ora Poindexter Hauser.
Mr. Hauser was a member of Concord United Methodist Church, and was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, after 41 years of service.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Shelby M. Hauser; and a sister, Adeline Everhart.
Surviving are his wife, Doris Stimson Hauser, of the home; two sons, Edwin Wilbur Hauser, and wife, Julia, of Raleigh and Michael F. Hauser, and wife, Susan, of Thomasville; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Dorothy Crouch, of Winston-Salem.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 18 at Concord United Methodist Church, with Rev. Thomas W. Albert officiating.

HOLLAN
Mr. George Anthony Hollan, age 61, of 4011 Hilda Street, Winston-Salem, son of Cornelius Hollan and Madie Neal, and husband of the late Virginia Lee Hollan, departed this life on Thursday, October 14, 1999 at the home of his granddaughter, Renee Robeson, following a period of illness.
Mr. Hollan was a lifelong resident of Winston-Salem, and a retired employee of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, after more than 30 years of service.
He was also a U.S. Army veteran.
He loved fishing and will be greatly missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory, a son, Ricky D. Hollan; one daughter, Ms. Von Diane Mobley; a granddaughter, Renee Mobley Robeson; and five great-grandchildren, Ronald, Jr., Nike, Michael, Michelle, and Angel Robeson, all of Winston-Salem; one brother, Dwight A. Hollan; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Homegoing service will be conducted Monday, October 18 at 12:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, with Dr. Serenus Churn officiating, with interment to follow in Gardens of Memory.
The family will receive friends from 11:30-12:00 p.m. at the church.

JOHNSON
SANTA MONICA, Calif. -- Mr. Bailey James Johnson, Jr., 72, of Santa Monica, Calif., died Saturday, October 16, 1999 at the Sticht Center at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
Born February 28, 1927 to the late Vivian Baxter and Bailey Johnson, Sr., he was a well-known gourmet chef in Beverly Hills, Calif., and Hawaii.
Prior to his illness, he was working on a body of poetry and fiction, and his autobiography.
He is survived by his sister, Dr. Maya Angelou; and daughter, Ms. Rosa Johnson, both of Winston-Salem; two sons, Ross and Nana Johnson, of California; one nephew, Guy Bailey Johnson, of California; one great-nephew, Colin Ashanti Johnson, of Atlanta; six grandchildren, Kwame, Olivia, Matema, Monique, Rosa Suzette, and Damion Emile Johnson; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Shelby Fulcher.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 20, 1999 at 4:00 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, with Dr. Serenus T. Churn officiating. (RUSSELL)
LAZCANO
Mr. Jose Gonzales Lazcano, 64, of Winston-Salem, died Friday, October 15, 1999 at Forsyth Medical Center.
He was born December 3, 1934 in Italy, to the late Valentio Edward and Maria Berhasconi Lazcano.
Mr. Lazcano was employed with Superior Manufacturing, and was a member of Christ Temple Apostolic Church.
He leaves behind a loving church family.
Surviving are his wife, Irene Faizone Lazcano, of the home; two sons, Valentino Edward Lazcano, of Austin, Texas, and Jack Lazcano, of the home; three daughters, Maria Elizabeth Lazcano, of San Antonio, Texas, and Irene and Vanessa Lazcano, both of the home; an adopted daughter, Sarah Widener, of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 19 at Christ Temple Apostolic Church by Rev. Bob Williams and Rev. Mike Lane.
Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Monday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
LILLIE
Mr. Harold M. Lillie, of Winston-Salem, died Saturday, October 16, 1999 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Lillie, of the home; a daughter, Rose Marie Banks, of Washington, D.C.; a granddaughter, Linda Banks of Springfield, Va.; a sister, Frances Albee, of Denver, Colo.; and three brothers, Justus Lillie and Warren Lillie, both of Denver, Colo., and Marvin Lillie of Wahoo, Neb.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 19 at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.

MONEY
HAMPTONVILLE -- Mr. Silas Money, 86, of 3432 Hwy 21 North, died Saturday, October 16, 1999, as a result of an automobile accident.
He was born July 14, 1913 to James and Ida Shore Money.
He was a retired carpenter and a member of Longtown Pentecostal Holiness Church.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Russell, John D., Paul, and Joe Money; and one sister, Katie Macemore.
Surviving are his wife, of 56 years, Ruth Smith Money; four daughters, Margie (Allen) Martin, Linda (Frank) Groce, and Phyllis Money, all of Yadkinville, and Kim (Tommy) Masten of Hamptonville; one sister, Maude Money Shore, of Hamptonville; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 20 at Gentry Family Chapel, conducted by Rev. Eddie Mishoe.
Burial will follow in Longtown Cemetery.
The body will lie in state from 10:30-11:00 a.m.

MURPHY
THOMASVILLE -- Mrs. Chappell James Murphy, 88, a resident of Thomasville, died Sunday morning, October 17, 1999 in the Beverly Health Care Center.
She was born March 18, 1911 in Forsyth County, a daughter of Rufus James and Barbara Kiger James.
She was a former employee of Regan Hosiery Mill, Inc., and was a retired employee with Thomasville Furniture Industries.
Mrs. Murphy was a member of Bethany United Church of Christ and the Ladies Bible Class.
She was married to Varney Murphy, who preceded her in death, in 1956.
Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and John Hill, of Lexington; son and daughter-in-law, Therrell and Peggy Grimes, of Thomasville; a sister, Mrs. Virginia Hedrick, of Thomasville; a brother, Charles James, of Asheboro; grandchildren, James Grimes, of Thomasville, Ed Hill, of Concord, Steve Hill, of Summerfield, and Brent Hill, of Ellicott City, Md.; and two great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by sisters, Della Fowler, Susie Yates, Pauline Haffly, and Juanita Carter; and brothers, Alan James and Walter James.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 19 at 2:00 p.m. in Bethany United Church of Christ, with Rev. Robert Thurston and Rev. Harold Holste officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Murphy will remain at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home until taken to the church thirty minutes prior to the service.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 7:00-9:00 p.m., and other times, at the home of the daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and John Hill, 124 Ridgeway Lane, Midway Community, Lexington.

Since April, 1999, Mrs. Murphy had been a resident of the Beverly Health Care Center.

MADISON -- Lizzie Sides Newnam, 89, formerly of 871 Eden Church Road, died Sunday, October 17, 1999 at Stokes Reynolds Hospital.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 19 at Ellisboro Baptist Church Cemetery.
She was born April 4, 1910 in Forsyth County, to the late Martin A. and Lizzie Hand Sides.
Mrs. Newnam was a member of Ellisboro Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George William "Bill" Newnam on March 18, 1960; and also by her son-in-law, H. Lewis Morton.
Mrs. Newnam is survived by her daughter, Marie N. Morton, of Madison; and her son and daughter-in-law, William "Billy" and Gail Newnam, of Madison.
The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m., Monday, October 18 at Colonial Funeral Home, and other times, at the residence of her daughter, 3000 US Hwy 311, Madison, N.C. 27025.
REECE
HAMPTONVILLE -- Mr. William Columbus Reece, 77, of Windsor Road, died Sunday, October 17, 1999 at his home.
Born April 13, 1922, son of the late Annie Reece Wagoner, he was a retired U.S. Army Sergeant.
He was of the Baptist faith, a life member of the Disabled American Veterans.
He was also a member of Phoenix Masonic Lodge #8 A.F. & A.M., and the Shriner and York Rite Bodies.
He was preceded in death by a stepson, John Everidge.
He is survived by his wife, Retha Everidge Reece, of the home; four children, William Glenn (Patsy Ann) Reece of Autryville, N.C., Johnny Mack (Marie) Reece, of Fayetteville, Linda Gay (Richard) Bathhurst, of Pensacola, Fla., and Larry Ray (Debbie) Reece, of Eastover, N.C.; his half sister, Gay Woodie, of Linville Falls, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; four stepchildren, Albert Everidge, of Cana, Va., and Ovid Everidge, Elaine Ireland, and Judy Mauldin, all of Hamptonville; 13 step-grandchildren; and 19 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 19 at Flat Rock Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Monday at Gentry Family Funeral Service on Little Mountain Road, in Jonesville.

ROBINSON
Mrs. Lula Evans Robinson, 83, of Sunrise Towers, Winston-Salem, died Thursday, October 14, 1999 following an extended illness.
She was born February 25, 1916 to James and Rosa Evans.
She attended Winston-Salem city schools, was an employee of R.J. Reynolds for 23 years, and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Ford, and her husband, Donnie, of Winston-Salem, and Brenda Barris, and her husband, Royce, of Charlotte; two sons, Nathan Evans, and James Evans, and his wife, Gloria, of Winston-Salem; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m., Monday, October 18 at New Bethel Baptist Church by Dr. Jerry Drayton, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 1:00-1:30 p.m., prior to the service.
