SIZEMORE
JONESVILLE -- Mrs. Shirley Murphy Sizemore, 63, of US Hwy 21, died Saturday, October 16, 1999 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 19, 1936 in Yadkin County, and was retired from Sara Lee Hosiery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, June Sizemore, in October of 1992; and by a daughter, Lisa Sizemore, in June of 1988.
Surviving are a daughter, Amanda Sizemore (David Keith) Stanley, of Elkin; and a granddaughter, Amber Finney, of Elkin.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 17 at Deep Creek Friends Church Cemetery, officiated by Rev. David Stanley.

RUTLEDGE
ELKIN -- Mrs. Patsy Parsley Rutledge, 52, of 4252 Austin-Traphill Rd., Elkin, died Saturday, October 16, 1999 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital in Winston-Salem.
Mrs. Rutledge was born in Murfreesboro, on October 3, 1947 to Hillard A. and Olene Howeth Parsley.
She was employed by Candle Corp. of America in Elkin.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are her husband, Bill Rutledge, of the home; three daughters, Tammy DeVall and Tonya Barrett, both of Elkin, and Tina Wehunt, of Houston, Texas; two sons, Jay Barrett, of Ashland City, Tenn., and Mike Rutledge, of Elkin; seven grandchildren, Felicia Wehunt, Stephen Rutledge, Teresa Rutledge, David Wehunt, Christopher Barrett, Jamie Barrett, and Taylor Barrett; two brothers, Joe Parsley, of Fayetteville, Tenn., and Danny Parsley, of Woodbury, Tenn; and two sisters, Mary St. John, of Nashville, Tenn., and Nell Womack, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 20 at Woodbury Funeral Home Chapel in Woodbury, Tenn.
Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Sunday at Kennedy Funeral Home in Elkin.
SWISHER
HAMPTONVILLE -- Mrs. Madge L. Swisher, 90, of Cowles Road, died Friday, October 15, 1999 at the home of her daughter, Nancy Steelman.
She was born October 1, 1909 in Yadkin County, to the late Calvin and Ethel Cheek Long.
She was a devoted housewife and mother, and lived her life working on a farm.
Mrs. Swisher was a member of Branon Friends Meeting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin E. Swisher; a daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Worth Renegar; three brothers, Miles Long, Guy Long, and Lindsey Long; and two sisters Ellen Sizemore and Fannie Harris.
Surviving are seven children, Nellie (Harvey) Wagoner, of Hamptonville, Mary Ruth (Johnnie) Richardson, of Harmony, Zelma (Roy) Eddleman and Nancy (Olon) Steelman, of Lone Hickory, Fred (Brenda) Swisher, of Mocksville, Phyllis (Jerry) Crook, of Lone Hickory, and Francis (Laura) Swisher, of Hamptonville; one sister, Lizzie Long, of Hamptonville; grandchildren, Billy (Anna) Renegar, Dale (Beverly) Wagoner, Tammy Richardson, Colleen Richardson, Eddie Richardson, Annette (Scott) Johnson, Amy (Michael) Fann, Jeanine (Kevin) Kimmer, Roy (Teresa) Swisher, and Jennifer Swisher; great-grandchildren, Nick Kimmer, Jacob Wagoner, Rachel Wagoner, Ashley Johnson, and Scottie Richardson; four step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Helen Adams, of Hamptonville.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m., Monday, October 18 at Branon Friends Meeting, with Rev. Hewey Parrish and Rev. Joe Reece officiating.
The body will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

TODD
YADKINVILLE -- Mr. Dewey Lee Todd, 100, of 2945 Old Stage Road, passed away Friday morning, October 15, 1999 at the Yadkin Nursing Care Center.
He was born June 8, 1899 to the late I.A. and Lillie Shermer Todd.
Mr. Todd was a retired farmer.
He was a member of Deep Creek Baptist Church in Yadkin County, for 86 years.
Mr. Todd was preceded in death by his family of twelve brothers and sisters; his wife, Velma P. Todd, in 1994; and his son, Wayne Todd, in 1999.
Surviving are a daughter, Dorothy T. Miller, of 3620 Courtney/Huntsville Road; two grandsons; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.

SPARTA -- J. Everett Watson, age 81, of Sparta, N.C., passed away Saturday, October 16, 1999.

WRANGHAM
Mrs. Doris Darnelle Wrangham, 79, formerly of Loman St., died Saturday, October 16, 1999 at Winston-Salem Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center.
She was born March 8, 1920 to Cary C. and Addie Belle Tuttle Darnelle.
Mrs. Wrangham was a member of Linville Forest Church of Christ.
Surviving are two sons, Fred J. Wrangham, and wife, Marcia, of Charlotte, and W.C. Wrangham, Jr., and wife, Karen, of Eden; two grandchildren, Travis and Blair Wrangham; and one sister, Helen D. Chatman, of Winston-Salem.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 18 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.

Mr. James Henry Brown, 57, of 3217 Old Greensboro Road, affectionately known as "BO", passed away Monday, October 11, 1999 at his residence unexpectedly.
He was born July 9, 1941 in Winston-Salem, the son of Fred J. Brown and the late Clara W. Brown.
He was educated in the public schools of Forsyth County.
He was a retired employee of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, Tobaccoville, N.C., and a former bus driver for TBM Luxury Coachline. "BO" was a member of the Macedonia TVPH Church of God INC and a member of the Trustee Board.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Clara W. Brown; and a brother, Fred Brown, Jr.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his loving children, Teresa Brown, James S. (Jackie) Brown, of Brooklyn, N.Y., David L. (Johnnie) Brown and Charles Valentine of Orlando, Fla., Patrick B. (Teresa) Friday, Eric D. (Rose) Brown, Kanika L. Brown and Cellistine Brown, of Society Hill, S.C.; 18 grandchildren, Tekeyla, Teandola, Eric, Jr., Justin, Patrick, Tekenvila, Rashun, David, II, Dominique, Charles, Princess, Shakaun, Craig, Aquarias, Ka'deysha, Kelle, Angelica, and Lester; his father, Fred J. Brown, of Winston-Salem; five devoted sisters, Willie Mae Stowe, Thelma Russell, Magareen (Earnest) Wilkins, Sally (Robert) Bethea, and Tanya (Kenny) Dawkins, all of Winston-Salem; ten devoted brothers, Jake (Maxine) Brown, Benjamin (Barbara) Brown, Mike Brown, Ricky (Janice) Brown, Clevester Brown, Aldeen (Geraldine) Harvey, Monroe (Carolyn) Watkins, Rev. Interment will be in the family plot at Piedmont Memorial Gardens.

CARTER
KERNERSVILLE -- Mrs. Willie Mae Hendrix Carter, 92, of Bradford Village East, died Sunday, October 17, 1999.
Mrs. Carter was born January 1, 1907 in Summerville, Ga., to George Washington and Dovey Alexander Hendrix.
She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Albany Carter, Sr.; a daughter, Betty Swiger; and a son, Billy Wright. Surviving are two sons, Jimmy Wright, Sr. and his wife, Rachel, of Kernersville, and Jack Carter, Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, October 20, 1999 in the chapel of Family Funeral Care at 11:00 a.m.
Rev. Sybil Parks will officiate.

CASS
GREENSBORO -- Mrs. Mary Evelyn Stewart Cass, 94, of Friends Home at Guilford, died Saturday, October 16, 1999 at her residence. Mrs. Cass' funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 19 at First Moravian Church.
Entombment will follow in Westminster Gardens.
Mary Evelyn Stewart Cass was born in Rockingham County, on February 17, 1905 to the late Dr. Joseph Stewart and Mrs. Rhoda Cummings Stewart.
She had been a resident of Guilford County, for the past 51 years.
Mrs. Cass was the co-founder and owner of Cass Jewelers and a member of First Moravian Church, the Estella Bobbitt Circle, and McDowell Sunday School Class.
She was a member of the Greensboro Woman's Club, the Myrtle Rebekah Lodge, and Guilford Chapter 141 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Mrs. Cass was also a member of the Gate City Shrine #2 Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem.
Survivors include two sons, John H. Cass, Jr. and his wife, Gay, and Stewart Cass and his wife, Margaret, all of Greensboro; a sister, Lillie Stewart Phibbs; and a brother, David Stewart, both of Bethany, N.C.; four grandchildren, Cathy Cass Kowalski, of Melbourne, Fla., Geoffrey T. Cass, of Summerfield, Amy Lynne Cass, of Charlotte, and Stephanie Cass Williams, of Greensboro; and four great-grandchildren, Laura Kowalski, John Kowalski, Jordan Cass, and Jennifer Williams.
Mrs. Cass was preceded in death by her husband, John Herman Cass, Sr., in 1990.
The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. tonight at Forbis and Dick North Elm Street.

GEE
MADISON -- Dr. Harold Wayne Gee, 80, of 504 Woodland Drive, died Sunday, October 17, 1999 at his home.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 20 at Woodland Cemetery.
Dr. Gee was a native of Danville, Va.
He was an optometrist, retiring in 1993, after 43 years of service to his community.
He was a member of the Madison Rotary Club, and was honored as a Paul Harris Fellow, a member of the Madison Lions Club, Investment Club, and the Men's Luncheon Club.
He was also a WWII Army veteran and a Purple Heart recipient.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne H. Gee; and a brother, C. Elwood Gee.
He is survived by his sister, Hilda G. Myers; and a niece, Lynn B. Myers, both of Raleigh; and a nephew, Carlton E. Gee, Jr., of the Middle East.
The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Tuesday at Ray Funeral Home, and other times, at his home.
