Marion Barnett Kininmonth
Marion "Gerry" Barnett Kininmonth, 71, formerly of Pfafftown, died at The Oaks at Forsyth, on April 10 [2002] following several years of declining health.
She was born in Chicago, Ill., on November 3, 1930, to Rubin Roy Barnett and Ruby Lawrence Barnett.
She moved here from Kentucky, 11 years ago.
She had been an active member of Vienna Baptist Church and took great joy in holding Bible study and discipleship classes in her home.
Preceding her in death in addition to her parents, were her husband, Odell J. Kininmonth, in 1997; a brother, Vernon Barnett; and a sister, Millie Jarrard.
Surviving are her daughter, Denise Kininmonth Oviatt and husband Kent of East Bend; a grandson, Jesse Rockwell Oviatt, and a granddaughter, Kathryn Rene Oviatt, both of East Bend; and a sister, Joy Truett of Matteson, Ill.
Funeral services were held at Vienna Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Fowler officiating.
Robert James Crawford
Robert "Bob" James Crawford, 80, of Clemmons, died February 14 [2002] at Forsyth Medical Center.
He was born June 12, 1921, in Richland County, Ohio, to Hugh D. Crawford and Flossie L. Crawford and raised in Melco, Ohio.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Mansfield, Ohio, and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He retired from Ideal Electric Co., with 35 years of service as an electrical engineer, was a 32nd-degree Mason and Grand Chef de Gar of the 40&8.
His community service included election and service to the Miflin school board and numerous civic and social organizations, in and around his home in Mansfield.
Surviving are his wife, Helen B. Crawford; two sons, Robert Dean Crawford and wife Elaine of Plymouth, Wis., and James Hugh Crawford and wife Roberta of Lexington; three granddaughters, Lisa C. Jury, Laura Crawford and Kristin H. Crawford; and a grandson, Logan James Crawford.
Also surviving are his brother, Richard Crawford; a niece, Ann D. Bosko and husband Alex; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
A private service was held at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel, with Rev. Clay J. Morgan officiating.
Burial followed at Parklawn Gardens.
James Norman Walker
James Norman Walker, 78, of Winston-Salem, died February 14 [2002] at Forsyth Medical Center.
He was born January 16, 1924, in Forsyth County, to John Wesley and Martha Boles Walker.
He retired from Goodwill Industries and attended New Eden Moravian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Annie Evelyn Lambeth Walker; a daughter, Martha Harmon; and a brother, Sanford Walker.
Surviving are his son, Norman W. Walker of Clemmons; his daughter, Arlene Stalter of Dunn; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his sister, Evelyn Burton of Winston-Salem.
Funeral services were held at New Eden Moravian Church with Rev. Bob Peek and Rev. Ollis Baggett officiating, and burial followed in Forsyth Memorial Park.
Marjorie Huddleston Hudnall
Marjorie Huddleston Hudnall, 78, of Winston-Salem, died February 13 [2002] at Forsyth Medical Center.
She was born July 15, 1923, in Mingo County, W.Va., to Charles Lawrence Huddleston, Sr. and Ethel Clark Huddleston.
She was a member of Peace Haven Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father; a brother, Charles Lawrence, Jr.; and two daughters, Molly Jane and Kay Ellen.
Surviving are her husband, Lloyd C. Hudnall of the home; a daughter, Sara Hudnall Jones and husband Lonnie of Clemmons; two sons, Charles William Hudnall and wife Doris of Edenton, and Lawrence Martin Hudnall "Lars" and wife Vickie of Ft. Leavenworth, Kan.; a grandson, Martin Clark Hudnall; three granddaughters, Chelsea Glenn Jones, McKenzie Kathleen Jones and Madeline Reese Jones; and her mother of Portsmouth, Ohio.
Funeral services were held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, with Rev. Mike Jamison officiating, and entombment followed in Parklawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Thomas Edwin Robinson
Thomas Edwin Robinson of Lewisville, died February 13 [2002] at his home.
He was born in Yadkin County, July 9, 1923, to Leon and Effie Lee Harding Robinson.
He retired from US Airways after many years of service, and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific.
He was a member of Union United Methodist Church in Lewisville.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn McBride Robinson, and his parents.
Surviving are a brother, Frank Robinson of Huntsville; and nieces and nephews Joby and wife Janet Robinson, James H. Robinson, Jane Mueller and husband Greg, Betty Robinson, Carolyn McBride, Eddie McBride, Hugh McBride, Alex McBride and Sharon Latham.
Funeral services were held at Union United Methodist Church, with Rev. Thomas Albert and Rev. Edwin Needham officiating, and burial followed in the church cemetery.
Brian Edward Hartlage
Brian Edward Hartlage, 34, of Clemmons, died February 15 [2002] at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
He was born June 26, 1967, in Lynchburg, Va.
Surviving are his father, A. Fred Hartlage, Jr., of Winston-Salem; a daughter, Harmony Rae, of Ridgeland, S.C.; and a number of aunts and uncles.
A memorial funeral mass was held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
Frank Padovani
Frank Padovani, 57, of Clemmons, died February 14 [2002] at Forsyth Medical Center.
He was raised in Basset, Va., and was a financial planner.
Surviving are his wife, Jacquelyn Moore Padovani; a son, Frank L. Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
A private family service was held at Forest Hills Memorial Park, with Dr. Ray Howell officiating.
Doris Fowlkes Bostic
Doris Fowlkes Bostic, the wife of James Bee Bostic, her husband of 49 years, died February 12 [2002] at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
She was born in Providence to the late Robert Samuel and Betty Moss Fowlkes.
She had retired from the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System after spending more than 44 years of teaching middle-school students her favorite subject, math.
She was a well-respected and true teaching professional who brought genuine credibility and creative learning experiences to her students.
Teaching was her joy!
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert "Rob" Bostic and Karen Satterfield Bostic; and two grandchildren, Lindsay and Matthew, all of Clemmons.
Funeral services were held at First Baptist Church.
Almena Tolbet French
Almena Tolbert French, 87, of East Bend, died February 12 [2002] at Meadowbrook Manor of Clemmons.
She was born July 10, 1914, in Greenwood County, S.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert T. French, Sr.
Surviving are three sons, Hubert T. French, Jr. and wife Florence of Winston-Salem, Robert E. French and wife Dorothy of Mocksville, and D. Allen French and wife Barbara of East Bend; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held in Forsyth Memorial Park with Rev. Walker Armstrong officiating.
Dorothy Gray Skinner
Dorothy Gray Skinner, 81, of Winston-Salem, died February 17 [2002] at Springwood Care.
She was born August 30, 1920, in Fulton County, Ga., to Walter Lea and Madeline Humphries Gray.
She was a longtime member of Knollwood Baptist Church and the Mary Martha Sunday school class.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Louis I. Skinner.
Surviving are three daughters, Sherry Harris and husband David of Lewisville, Madeline Lyon and husband David of Charlotte, and Jan Vernon and husband Bill of Walnut Cove; six grandchildren, Cameron and Alston Harris of Lewisville, Kristin Sellers and Erin Butler of Charlotte, and Leigh and John Vernon of Walnut Cove; also four great-grandchildren, Nicole and Jordan Sellers, Jacob and Luke Butler.
Funeral services were held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
