Roberta Hart Dalton
Roberta Hart Dalton, 83, of Clemmons, died December 27 [2001] at Arbor Acres.
She was born February 16, 1918, in Ayden to Alfonso and Velman Kirkman Hart.
She was a member of Clemmons United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Raymond A. Dalton of Clemmons; a son, William F. Dalton and wife Judith of Richmond, Va.; two granddaughters, Carrie Samantha Dalton and Jamie Diana Dalton, both of Richmond, Va.; and three sisters, Katherine Pickard of Durham, Vermile Bryan of Babson Park, Fla., and Princess Hart of Texas.
Funeral services were held at Clemmons United Methodist Church Chapel with Rev. David Baxter and Rev. Karla Farabow officiating, and burial followed at Chestnut Hills Cemetery in Salisbury.
Robert Lee Seagraves, Jr.
Robert Lee Seagraves, Jr., 79, of Winston-Salem, died December 4 [2001] at Forsyth Medical Center, after suffering a heart attack five weeks ago.
He was born in Bloomfield, Neb., January 23, 1922, to the late Robert Lee and Cora Vipperman Seagraves.
He was a member of South Fork Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. after 30 years of service.
Surviving are his wife, Edna Stone Seagraves, of the home; two daughters, Donna Campbell and husband Dwain of Wallburg, and Vickie Lawrence of Clemmons; three grandsons, John Campbell, Brandon Campbell and Joshua Lawrence; and several cousins.
Funeral services were held at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, with Rev. Michael Pope officiating, and burial followed in Forsyth Memorial Park.
Mary Jane Roland Wagner
Mary Jane Roland Wagner, 65, of Winston-Salem, died December 11 [2001].
She was born June 29, 1936, in Forsyth County, to the late Arnold Luke and Myrtle Kimsey Roland.
She was of the Baptist faith.
During her illness this past year, she appreciated visits from her friends and family, especially her son, Frankie, her sister, Lois and most especially her niece, Angie.
Surviving are her son, Franklin Wagner, II and wife Jeannie of Clemmons; a granddaughter, Faith McKimsey; a step-granddaughter, Jessica Plaster; two sisters, Lois Fesperman of Bolivia, N.C., Beatrice Hudson of Chapin, S.C.; a brother, Jim Roland of Indialantic, Fla.; a special loving niece, Angie Beane of Winston-Salem; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held at Waughtown Cemetery, with Gary Smith officiating.
Martha B. Fletcher
Martha B. Fletcher, 81, of Clemmons, died August 12 [2002] at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Allen Fletcher; and a daughter, Diane Fletcher.
Surviving are her husband of 59 years, Lewis Fletcher; a daughter, Karen Lawless and husband Daniel of Winston-Salem; and a granddaughter, Ashley Marie Lawless.
A memorial Mass was held at Holy Family Catholic Church, with Father Michael Buttner officiating.
Burial followed at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.
Thomas Benjamin Pritchard, Sr.
Thomas Benjamin Pritchard, Sr., 89, of Winston-Salem, died August 14 [2002] after a long illness.
He was born September 17, 1912 in Lewistown, Pa., to the late John Albert and Ruth Alena Pritchard.
He was employed by Dun and Bradstreet from 1945, until his retirement in 1977.
He was a past exalted ruler of the Elks Club in Danville, Pa., a founding member of the Gold Key Kiwanis Club in Winston-Salem, and served as the second president of the club for a two-year term.
He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church for 41 years and served as an usher and member of the Boy Scout committee.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Josephine Pritchard Greene.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Dottie Kile Pritchard; a daughter, Louise Pritchard Eason and husband David of Concord; a son, Thomas B. Pritchard and wife Gail of Clemmons; and a granddaughter, Alena Tyler and husband Channing of Concord.
A memorial service was held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, and burial followed in the memorial garden adjacent to the church.
Raymond John McKeown
Raymond John "R.J." McKeown, 76, of Winston-Salem, died August 15 [2002] at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
He was born January 15, 1926, in Forsyth County, to Raymond John, Sr. and Phoebe Lawrence McKeown.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was of Baptist faith.
He owned and operated the Cardinal 76 Service Station until his retirement.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Jean Yokeley McKeown of the home; three daughters, Linda Van Ormer and husband Mike of Summerfield, Joan Kimel of Greensboro, and Judy Smitherman and husband Eddie of Winston-Salem; two granddaughters; a great-granddaughter; two brothers, Kenneth McKeown of Clemmons, and John McKeown of Pennsylvania; and a sister, Frances Veach of Clemmons.
A graveside service was held at Parklawn Memorial Gardens, with Joe Yokeley officiating.
Douglas L. Blevins
Douglas L. Blevins, 73, of Lewisville, died August 15 [2002] at Forsyth Medical Center.
He was born November 11, 1928, in Forsyth County, to John W. and Edna McBride Blevins.
He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and retired from Triad Mack Sales.
He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Frances Hauser.
Surviving are his wife, Ellen Sheets Blevins; four children, Kevin W. Blevins, Fonda B. Brown and husband Philip, John C. Blevins and wife LaNell, and Wendy B. Moss and husband Willy; three grandchildren, Michael L. Hansley, Jr., Lauren E. Blevins and Kaelin J. Moss; and very special niece and nephews, Donna Williams and Dewitt and David Hauser.
A graveside service was held at Immanuel Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Lloyd Taylor and Rev. Otis Clampitt officiating.
Robert Larry Crisp
Robert Larry Crisp, 66, of Kernersville, died August 15 [2002] at his residence.
He was employed by Mark IV Industries/Purolator Filters for 35 years.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Crisp; a sister, Patricia Cardwell; and his parents, Robert and Juanita Crisp.
Surviving are his wife of 12 years, Pat Crisp of the home; a son, Randy Crisp and wife Emagene of Clemmons; two daughters, Lori Salciccioli and husband Tony of Milford, Mich., and Michelle Callahan and husband Michael of Kernersville; a step-daughter, Cindy Bumgarner of Greensboro; and two grandchildren, Brian and Matthew Salciccioli.
Funeral services were held at Hanes-Lineberry, Pierce Chapel, with Chaplain Fred Moretz officiating.
Burial was at Cardwell Family Cemetery in Clarksville, Tenn.
Bobby Sherman Weavil
Bobby Sherman Weavil, 71, of Clemmons, died August 16 [2002] at Forsyth Medical Center.
He was born August 23, 1930, in Forsyth County, to Curtis S. and Annie Ebert Weavil.
He served in the U.S. Army in Korea, for 23 months.
He was a member of Friedland Moravian Church.
He was a member of Enterprise Masonic Lodge #7752 and was a former member of Forsyth Masonic Lodge #707.
He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. after 20 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Curtis Ebert Weavil.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Dell "Jo" Horton Weavil of the home; a daughter, Renee Weavil of Clemmons; three sons, Andrew Weavil and wife Gaylan of Lexington, Timothy Weavil of Clemmons, and Mark Weavil and wife Jacqulin of Clemmons; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Evley Conrad, Emma Ingram, Nina Smith, Norma Smith and Rebecca Carmichael.
Funeral services were held at Friedland Moravian Church, with Rev. Carol Foltz and Rev. Dalton King officiating.
Burial followed in the church graveyard.
Opal Dean Nester Mills Stevens
Opal Dean Nester Mills Stevens, 83, formerly of Princeton, W.Va., and Winston-Salem, died August 4 [2002].
She was born June 3, 1919, in Mountain City, Tenn., to Ike E. and Nancy Lottie Henson Gentry.
She was a member of Assembly of God Church in Princeton, W.Va.
Surviving are two sons, Robert and Brenda Nester of Winston-Salem, and Willard and Margaret Mills of Clemmons; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and a brother, Charles Gentry and wife Dot of Providence, R.I.
A graveside service was held at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluefield, W.Va., with Rev. Allen officiating.
