BUTLER
REIDSVILLE -- David Lee Butler, Jr., 43, of 811 McClintock St., Reidsville, N.C., died Sunday, October 3, 1999 at Beacon Place in Greensboro, N.C. Graveside services will be conducted 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 5 in Greenview Cemetery, with Rev. David Wyant and Rev. Dan Jones officiating. A native of Rockingham Co., he was a son of Nancy Jones Butler and the late David Lee Butler, Sr., and had lived in Reidsville his entire life. He was a former employee of Turk's Restaurant and a member of First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, David L. Butler, Sr.; and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John L. Butler. Surviving are his mother, Nancy Jones Butler, of the home; one daughter, Crystal Butler, of Reidsville; one brother, John R. Butler, of Kernersville; one sister, Louise Butler, of Reidsville; and maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robbie Jones, of Reidsville. The family will see friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Monday at Citty Funeral Home, and at other times, will be at the residence. Memorials may be made to Hospice at Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave., Greensboro, N.C. 27405 or to First United Methodist Church, 1520 S. Scales St., Reidsville, N.C. 27320.

CLARK
GREENSBORO -- Mr. Neil Hall Clark, 66, died Saturday, October 2, 1999 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 5 at Clifton Road Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. Mr. Clark was a member of Clifton Road Baptist church, and he was employed by North State Chevrolet for 18 years. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Nina B. Clark, of the home; daughter, Sheila Mae Walker, of Greensboro; sons, Randall Neil Clark, of Greensboro and Gordon Dean Clark, of Newport News, Va.; father, William O. Clark, of Winston-Salem; sister, Lois Flannagan, of Winston-Salem; and grandchildren, Ryan L. Cato, Laura M. Clark, and Justin N. Clark. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. tonight at Hanes-Lineberry Vanstory Street Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Clifton Road Baptist Church, 3815 Clifton Rd., Greensboro, N.C. 27407.

FLYNT
GREENSBORO -- Mrs. Claudia Shelton Flynt, 83, died Saturday, October 2, 1999 at her home in the Guilford College community. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 5 at First Moravian Church, where she was a member. Interment will be in New Garden Friends Meeting Cemetery. Mrs. Flynt was born in Stokes County and made her home in the Guilford College community, Greensboro, for the past 61 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman E. Flynt, Sr. Surviving are her son, Elwood Flynt and his wife, Catherine; daughters, Marie Flynt Key and her husband, J.C. and Evelyn Flynt Andrew, both of Greensboro; and brothers, Garland Shelton of Winston-Salem, Ray Shelton of Kernersville, and Paul Shelton of Wake Forest. Also surviving are grandchildren, Robbie Flynt, Tammy Stanley, Keith Flynt, Robin Hrdlicka, Andy Andrew, and Kevin Key; and 10 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Monday at Hanes-Lineberry North Elm Street Chapel, and other times, at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Moravian Church, 304 South Elam Avenue, Greensboro, N.C. 27403.

PARDUE
RONDA -- Mrs. Bertha Blackburn Pardue, 98, of Ronda, died Sunday, October 3, 1999 at Hugh Chatham Nursing Center. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 5 at Ronda Cemetery by Rev. Mike Hall. Mrs. Pardue was born April 13, 1901 to John Q. and Martha Blackburn. She was a member of Ronda Baptist Church, and was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard S. Pardue, in 1968. Surviving are three sons, Warren (Ella) Pardue, of Pinehurst, N.C., Carl (Lucille) Pardue, of Gastonia, N.C., and Jack (Shirley) Pardue, of Albany, Ga.; a special friend, Barbara F. Chatham, of Ronda; one sister, Alta Mooney, of Studio City, Calif.; one brother, John Blackburn, of Lynchburg, Va.; nine grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and five great, great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ronda Baptist Church or to the charity of the donor's choice. The family will receive friends from 10:00-10:45 a.m. Tuesday at Kennedy Funeral Home in Elkin.

PRICE
GREENSBORO -- Loraine Jessie Price, 65, of 2223 West Cone Boulevard, died Saturday, October 2, 1999. Her funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 5 at Flat Rock United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with burial in the church cemetery. She was a native of Rockingham County, and a former employee of Sears. She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ethel Turner Price; and a brother, John William Price, Jr. She is survived by five sisters, Mary Wall, of Greensboro, Audrey Sloane, of Independence, Mo., Annie Denson and Linda Bennett, both of Stokesdale, and Margaret Norris, of Madison; three brothers, Eli Price, of Pine Hall, and Thomas Price and David Price, both of Stokesdale; and several nieces; and nephews. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Monday at Ray Funeral Home in Madison, and other times, at the home of Margaret and Bobby Norris, 933 Baggage Road, Madison. Memorials may be made to the Flat Rock United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 116, Stokesdale, N.C. 27357.

PRIM
RURAL HALL -- Mr. Billy Anderson Prim, 74, of 775 Cook Rd., died Saturday, October 2, 1999 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem following a period of declining health. Mr. Prim was born in Yadkin County on May 23, 1925, the son of the late Terry Oscar and Mattie Jester Prim. Mr. Prim was a member of First Baptist Church of Stanleyville in Winston-Salem. He retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co., with 30 years of service, where he was involved in plant protection. Mr. Prim was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and had participated in five major battles during WWII. He was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post #9010 in Clemmons. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Mrs. Dorothy Hale Prim, of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Mike Royall, of Winston-Salem; one son, David A. Prim, Sr. and wife, Bertha, of Kernersville; four grandchildren, David, Jr. and wife, Mindy, Leigh Ann, Heather, and Michael, Jr.; five great grandchildren, Ashley, Wess, Adam, Jake, and Hanna; and two sisters, Peggy Duggins, of Rural Hall and Joyce Fulp, of Winston-Salem. Mr. Prim was preceded in death by three sisters, Juanita Carter, Sadie Cole, and Allie Boger; and one brother, Oscar ''Buck'' Prim. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 5 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel by Rev. Jonathan Rogers and Rev. Peter Kunkle. Burial with military honors by V.F.W. District 11 Memorial Guard will follow in Crestview Memorial Park, Rural Hall. The Prim family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #9010, Hampton Rd., Clemmons, N.C. 27012.

SAYERS
Mrs. Virginia West Sayers, 87, of Winston-Salem, died Saturday, October 2, 1999 at the Oaks at Forsyth. Mrs. Sayers was born October 17, 1911 in Dustin, Okla. to Howard Martin and Lillie Cutright West. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Winston-Salem and was a volunteer at Arbor Acres for 13 years. Mrs. Sayers was preceded in death by her husband, Clay A. Sayers. Surviving are a daughter, Dee McCandlish, of Charlotte, N.C.; a son, David L. Brown, of Maineville, Ohio; three grandsons, John McCandlish of Winston-Salem, David Allen Brown and wife, Vicki, of Bowling Green, Ky., and Greg Brown and wife, Anita, of Williamsburg, Ky.; two granddaughters, Patti Baker and husband, John, of Pleasant Plain, Ohio and Angie Gelly and husband, Bryant, of University Height, Ohio; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Lillian ''Tillie'' Davis, of Sarasota, Fla.; two nieces; and two nephews. A memorial service will be held 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 5, 1999 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel by Dr. David Burr and Rev. Jeff White. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Pope Scholarship Fund or to the MBAC Disaster Relief Fund, P.O. Box 11721, Charlotte, N.C. 28220.

SPEAKS
Mr. Phillip Lynn Speaks, 53, of Winston-Salem, died Saturday evening, October 2, 1999 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born February 2, 1946 in Forsyth County to Howard G. and Avelene Tise Speaks. Mr. Speaks was a past employee of the High Point Enterprise. He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald G. Speaks. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Betty Lou Pass, of Clemmons; and a brother, Jerry W. Speaks, of Winston-Salem. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the family of Mr. Speaks.

WINDSOR
Mr. Asa Duane Windsor, 72, of Winston-Salem, died Saturday, Oct . 2, 1999 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born Aug . 14, 1927 in Forsyth County to Raymer and Della Windsor. Mr. Windsor was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army. He was retired from McLean Trucking Company after 30 years of service, and was an active member of Salem Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Irene Tucker Windsor, of the home; two daughters, Allison Thomason and husband, Sam, of Kernersville and Millison Jones and husband, Stephen, of East Bend; four granddaughters, Amy and Ashley Thomason and Stephanie and Jennifer Jones; three sisters, Inez Blankenship, of Yadkinville, Delphine Ritt, of Winston-Salem, and Eloise Thompson, of Lexington; and a brother, Homer Windsor, of Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct . 5 at Salem Baptist Church, with Rev. Floyd Boles officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Mr. Windsor will lie in state at the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 7 -9 Monday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to Salem Baptist Church, 429 S. Broad St ., Winston-Salem, N.C. 27101.

AMOS
MADISON -- Mr. Claude (Shorty) Cecil Amos, 81, of 6081 NC 772, died Friday, October 1, 1999 at Stokes Reynolds Hospital. The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, October 3, 1999 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. Mr. Amos was born in Stokes County. He was retired from Macfield Industries and a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Luke, and Lottie H. Amos; and his brothers, Aldean Amos and Harold Amos. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Lolene Carter Amos, of the home; his son, Ricky Samuel Amos, of Madison; his daughters, Betty A. Stevens and husband, Tom, of Westfield, and Sheila A. Pyrtle and husband, Keith, of Sandy Ridge; his granddaughter, April Collins Hernandez and husband, Manuel; great grandson, Talley D. Hernandez; his step grandson, Scotty L. Pyrtle; his brother, Dennis Amos, of Mcleansville, N.C.; and his sisters, Frances A. Dodson of Liberty, N.C., Alvaire A. Rock of Pine Hall, N.C., Helen A. Reynolds of Robins, N.C., Earlene A. Joyce of Spencer, Va., Virginia A. Faust of Pleasant Garden, N.C., and Joy A. Hooper of Smithfield, Va. Memorials may be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church, Attn: Mrs. Frankie Case, 206 S. K-Fork Road, Madison, N.C. 27025. Colonial Funeral Home and Chapel is serving the family.
