BOWMAN
PILOT MOUNTAIN -- Ms. Mary Faye Bowman, 57, of 1130 Elijah Road, Pilot Mountain, N.C., died Sunday, September 26, 1999. Ms. Bowman was born in Stokes County May 6, 1942 to Willie Elmer (Will) and Nellie Joyce Bowman. She was a homemaker, a farmer, and member of True Word Baptist Church. Surviving are two sisters, Helen Bowman and Betty Jo Bowman both of 1335 Farm Road, Pilot Mountain; one foster son and his wife, Joey Anthony and Shanese Joyce of 1335 Farm Road, Pilot Mountain; a special uncle, Odell Joyce of 1906 Osborne Joyce Road, Pilot Mountain; and several cousins. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon, September 29, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cox-Needham Funeral Home Chapel in Pilot Mountain by Brother David Joyce and Brother Don Collins. Burial will be in the Brim's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Cox-Needham Chapel Tuesday evening, September 28, 1999 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and at other times at the Bowman home, 1335 Farm Road, Pilot Mountain. CLODFELTER
Mrs. Marie Gray Clodfelter, 89, of 650 Granville Drive, Apt. 204-D, Winston-Salem, died Sunday, September 26, 1999 at Meadowbrook Manor in Clemmons. Mrs. Clodfelter was born June 22, 1910 in Yadkin County to Fannie Roberson and Joseph A. Gray. Mrs. Clodfelter was a Practical Nurse and was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Thomas Clodfelter and is survived by one niece, Katherine Grayson of California. A graveside service will be conducted Tuesday Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Forsyth Memorial Park by Rev. Frank Shumate. The arrangements are by Vogler & Sons Main Street Chapel.

KING -- Margaret H. Crews, 71, of Rose Tara Plantation in King, formerly of Oldtown, died Sunday, September 26, 1999 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born October 21, 1927 in Richmond, Va. to John Powell and Grace Heath. Mrs. Crews was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie William Crews, Jr. in 1990. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Randy Watts of King; one son and daughter-in-law, William Lee and Elaine Crews of Clemmons; four grandchildren, Bridget M. Clark, Brandon K. Watts, Heather E. Crews, and Kristi L. Crews; one sister, Doris Creech of Pfafftown; two brothers, Dick Heath of Pfafftown and John P. Heath of Walnut Cove. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 28, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. in Forsyth Memorial Park with Rev. Jack Borders officiating. The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Slate Funeral Home in King and other times at the home of her daughter, Deborah Watts, 102 Rosewood Lane in King, and at the home of her son, Billy Crews, 309 Idlewood Court in Winston-Salem. DODSON
KING -- Sadie Pauline Dodson, 79, of Scenic Drive, died Sunday, September 26, 1999 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born March 16, 1920 in Stokes County to Willie Lee and Emily Southern Fulk. Mrs. Dodson was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Frank Dodson in 1982. Surviving are two daughters, Kathleen Lawson and Maxine Bourquin both of King; one son, Hassell Dodson of Kernersville; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Hestella Bodenhamer and Louise Pratt both of King, and Mary Magdeline Fulk of Clemmons; three brothers, Joe, Theodore, and Vester Fulk all of King. She was a member of Volunteer Primitive Baptist Church where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. Elders Weldon Joyce and Jimmy Lankford will officiate. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Slate Funeral Home in King and other times at the home of a daughter, Kathleen Lawson at 238 Lake Street in King.

YADKINVILLE -- Martha Inscore Graham, 80, died Saturday, September 25, 1999 at Wake Forest/Baptist Medical Center. She was born on January 11, 1919 to the late Sheriff A.L. and Ina Shore Inscore. She was employed at the office of Censorship in Washington, D.C. during World War II and later retired from Montaldo's. She was a charter member of Maplewood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her children, Phillip (Carolyn Perkins) Graham, Jim (Una Combs) Graham, and Lynn Graham Winters, all of Yadkinville; two sisters, Jerry Hudspeth of Yadkinville and Nellie Grey Foster of Atlanta, Ga.; six grandchildren, David, Jason, Tammy, and Heather Graham, and Graham and Myra Winters; seven nieces and nephews, who loved Martha Lee very much; and a special thanks to the ladies who were her daily caregivers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 Tuesday, September 28, 1999 at Maplewood Baptist Church. Pastor Freddie Braswell, Rev. Richard Eskew, and Rev. Mark Portis will officiate. GREENSBORO -- Mrs. Noma P. Jordan, 88, of Greensboro, went to be with her Lord on Monday, September 27, 1999 at her residence. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 29, 1999 at Lawndale Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. She loved to sing in choirs, in trios, and until recently was singing duets with her daughter. Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death by her husband, J. Herman Jordan in 1994. Surviving are her son, Herman Jordan and his wife, Anita of Mooresville; her daughter, Betty J. Wilson and her husband, Bill of Greensboro; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Lowell ''Dean'' Long, 66, of Jamestown, died Sunday, September 26, 1999 at Friendship Care, following a long illness. A cryptside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 29, 1999 at Guilford Memorial Park's Mausoleum. Born May 17, 1933 in Tobaccoville, N.C. to Lucile Long and the late Richard Paul Long, Mr. Long was of the Baptist faith. He was also employed with Electric supply, Inc., now Cresent Electric for 35 years. He is survived by his wife of 450 years, Margie Long of the home; sons, Richard Long of Holly Springs, N.C. and Tim Long of Jamestown; a daughter and son-in-law, Sonya and Stephen Thomas of Greensboro; his mother, Lucile Long of Winston-Salem; and four grandchildren, Sarah and Nick Long and Stephanie and Nicole Thomas. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday evening, September 28, 1999 at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel and other times at the residence in Jamestown. HIGH POINT -- Mrs. Mary Ruth Lewis Petree, 88, formerly of Crestline Drive died September 26, 1999 at Piedmont Christian Home. Mrs. Petree was born on August 3, 1911 in Greensboro, a daughter to Robert Clayton and Mollie Waynick Lewis. Mrs. Petree was the former Executive Secretary for Jake Froelich Veneer Company, was a member of the Furniture City Woman's Club, the High Point Lady Lions, and was a Past Vice-President of the Democratic Women. She was a member of first United Methodist Church and the Family Fellowship Class of the Sunday School. On December 23, 1936 she was married to William Samuel Petree, Sr., who preceded her in death on December 22, 1998. Surviving are two sons, William S. Petree, Jr. and wife, Alice of Charlotte and Robert L. Petree and wife, Marie of Atlanta, Ga.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. C.A. (Helen) Cochrane of Garner, N.C.; and one brother, Charles W. Lewis of Burlington. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 29, 1999 at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church by the Reverend Donnell Lloyd. Visitation will be at the church following the memorial service. Inurnment will be in the church columbarium. Memorials may be directed to the charity of one's choice.
RAYFIELD
Mr. Bradley Jerone Rayfield, 87, of Homestead Hills, Winston-Salem, died September 26, 1999. He was born August 17, 1912 in Chesterfield, S.C. to Thomas Quincy and Mary Elizabeth Davidson Rayfield. He was a member of Pisgah United Methodist Church. He was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 38 years service. Bradley was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Holland Rayfield who died in 1971 and his second wife, Agnes Tesh Rayfield. He is survived by his present wife, Ruth Hayes Thigpen Rayfield of the home; two daughters, Mrs. John A. (Jenell) Hart, Jr. and Mrs. E.W. (Linda) Hooven both of Kernersville; two sons, Don Rayfield and wife, Beverly and Tommy Rayfield and wife, Gaynell, both of Winston-Salem; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many others, including his life long friends Gene and Dewilla Walker and his Homestead Hills friends. Funeral services will be held at Hayworth-Miller Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 29, 1999 with the Rev. Lee Money and Elder Dwayne Hooven officiating.
