Sudie Kay Stowe, the loving wife of Donald Stowe, Jr., and daughter of the late MSGT James A. Fennell, Sr. (Air Force Retired) and Lauretta Farrior Fennell, died Saturday afternoon at home after a long illness. She died surrounded by those who loved her. Mrs. Stowe was a 1969 graduate of Carver High School under the direction of Roland Green. She was a proud and active member of the Carver High ''NIFTY FIFTY'' Marching Band, The Concert Band, and Stage Ensembles. She was a graduate of Winston-Salem State University with a degree in Music. Her Concentration was in Woodwinds. Her Professional Career included Teaching assignments with The Cabbarrus County, New Hanover County and Charlotte/Mecklenburg School Systems. She is survived by her husband, Donald Stowe, Jr.; mother, Lauretta Farrior Fennell; a daughter, Nina Flynn (Barry); sisters; brothers; grandchildren; friends; and family who miss her more than anyone could know. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Second Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Donald Stowe, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Family Plot at Evergreen Cemetery. The Procession will assemble and leave from the home, 2435 Waughtown Street, enroute to the church at 1:10 p.m. Wednesday. DOBSON -- Mr. Joseph Delbert White, 73, of 1437 Prison Camp Road, Dobson, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday evening at the Northern Hospital of Surry County in Mt. Airy. Mr. White was born in Surry County on September 28, 1925 to the late Winnie Edgar (Dump) and Alice Freeman White. Mr. White was an active and dedicated member of the Little Vine Primitive Baptist Church, and a retired supervisor with the N.C. Department of Transportation. He also served in the United States Army during World War II. Surviving are his, Mrs. Helen Mitchell White of the home; three daughters and sons-in-law, Betty White Foster and husband, Rodney of North Wilkesboro, Ruth White Kidd of Dobson, and Lora White Rosamond and husband, Ed of Taylorsville, N.C.; one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph David White and wife, Donna Young White of Marion, N.C.; two grandchildren, Joseph Dean White and wife, Kelly and Jessica White Triplett and husband, Ross; one sister, Katie White Cockerham of Winston-Salem; two brothers, Alfred and Roy White both of Rt. 1, Elkin. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 2:00 p.m. at Little Vine Primitive Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. His body will remain at Davis & Son Funeral Home in Dobson until carried to lie instate 30 min. prior to the services. Mrs. Kathleen Burton Williams, 85, of Mocksville, died Sunday, September 26, 1999 at her home. She was born July 10, 1914 in Davie County to Roy T. and Harriet Whisenhunt Burton. Mrs. Williams was a member of Bixby Church of the Living God. She was preceded in death by her husband, George T. Williams; one daughter, Mary Jane Williams; and one son, Paul F. Williams. Surviving are eight daughters, Alice Fay Wood of Advance, Louise Hooker and Rosie Sutherland of Mocksville, Ann Sprinkle of Midway, Betty Joe Groce of Yadkinville, Johnnie Peacock of Advance, and Carolyn Smith and Vickie Sprinkle of Mocksville; two sons, George T. Williams of Yadkinville and Roy D. Williams of Rowan County; three sisters, Ruby Byrd of Lexington, Margaret Keaton of Stanleyville, and Callie Hudson of Advance; two brothers, Pete Burton of Davidson County and Tommy Burton of Winston-Salem; twenty-two grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Rebecca Jarvis. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at Bixby Church of the Living God with Rev. Bud McDowell, Dr. Joe Long, Rev. John Stephens, and Rev. James Hooker officiating. MOCKSVILLE -- Mr. Fred Alvin Young, 51, of Spillman Road, died late Sunday night at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem after a short illness. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday in Green Meadows Baptist Church Cememtery with Rev. Greg Little officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives in the Fellowship Hall of Green Meadows Church immediately following the service on Tuesday. They request memorials by considered for Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, N.C. 27103 or the Building Fund of Green Meadows Baptist Church, c/o Mr. Jimmy Bowles, 1646 U.S. Hwy. 801 North, Mocksville, N.C. 27028. Mr. Young was born in Guilford County, July 27, 1948 to Beulah Fraizier Young of Mocksville and the late Alvin Young and was employed with Ingersol Rand of Mocksville. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea and was a member of Green Meadows Baptist Church. He was also an avid golfer. Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife, Helen Sparks Young of the home; three children, Penny Ann Young of Mocksville, David Koontz of Raleigh, and Elizabeth Koontz of Blacksburg, Va.; one sister, Judy Petticord and her husband, Blaine of Mocksville; one brother, Charles Ray Young and his wife, Melissa of Advance; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Madeliene Sparks of Mocksville; and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John and Carol Sparks, Mike and Nancy Miller, Dwight and Lillian Sparks, John and Teresa Phifer, and Bob and Alethea Segal. Mary Sue James Childress, our loving sister, mother, and friend, suddenly passed away on September 25, 1999. She was born on December 5, 1946 in Walnut Cove, N.C. She was the daughter of the late Rufus Wilson James and the late Hessie Mae Brown. She was retired from R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. She took much joy in cooking and quilting during her retirement. Surviving are two children, her son, Ricky Dean Childress and wife, Wendy of King, and her daughter, Susie Jane Childress of Welcome; two grandchildren, Cody and D'Lynn; two brothers, Dewey Wilson James of Dobson and Paul Junior James and wife, Mary Ann of King; one sister, Brenda Lee Tuttle and husband, Joe of King; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 28, 1999 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, Rural Hall Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jonathan Rogers. WALKERTOWN -- Mrs. Lurline Annie Akridge Coletrane, 93, of 4130 Pine Hall Road, Walkertown, passed away on Wednesday, September 22, 1999 at her residence. She was a native of Athens, Ga., born on June 8, 1906, and moved to the Walkertown area at an early age. She was a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Senior Choir and other auxilliaries, and served faithfully until her health failed. She was also a member of the Eastern Star-Rosa McCloud Chapter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie S. Coletrane and a daughter, Clarice Fulp. She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Plushie Moore of Gary, Ind. and Cora (Chuck) Jones of Washington State; an adopted Church daughter, Alberta Teal of Walkertown; devoted granddaughter and great-grandchildren, Ruby Gray, Walter Dixon, Norris Dixon, and Karen Floyd; grandson, Sanford Coletrane; sister, Ellen A. King of Walnut Cove; a brother, Will Akridge of Baltimore, Md.; a devoted niece, Ellen M. Givens of Winston-Salem; devoted friends, the Lowery family; and a host of other grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. KING -- Margaret H. Crews, 71, of Rose Tara Plantation in King, formerly of Oldtown, died Sunday, September 26, 1999 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born October 21, 1927 in Richmond, Va. to John Powell and Grace Heath. Mrs. Crews was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie William Crews, Jr. in 1990. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Randy Watts of King; one son and daughter-in-law, William Lee and Elaine Crews of Clemmons; four grandchildren, Bridget M. Clark, Brandon K. Watts, Heather E. Crews, and Kristi L. Crews; one sister, Doris Creech of Pfafftown; two brothers, Dick Heath of Pfafftown and John P. Heath of Walnut Cove. MOCKSVILLE -- Mrs. Ruth McDaniel Foster, 85, of Milling Rd., passed away Saturday, September 25, 1999 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Foster was born October 21, 1913 in Davie County to the late George Bonus and Iva Cornatzer McDaniel. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Vickie Foster and Connie Foster King; six brothers, Cecil McDaniel, Bill McDaniel, Everett McDaniel, Bruce McDaniel, Troy McDaniel, and Pete McDaniel; and one sister, Lucille Smith. She is survived by her husband Thurman Foster of 64 years; one brother, Bob McDaniel of Mocksville; one sister, Hazel M. Gobble of Fork, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Foster was a member of Dulin United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was very involved in her church. During her lifetime, she was a homemaker, who loved cooking and working in her garden. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 27, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at Dulin United Methodist Church with Rev. YADKINVILLE -- Martha Inscore Graham, 80, of 609 Spring Street, died Saturday, Sept . 25, 1999 at Wake Forest/Baptist Medical Center. She was born on Jan . 11, 1919 to the late Sheriff A.L. and Ina Shore Inscore. She was employed at the office of Censorship in Washington, D.C. during World War II and later retired from Montaldo's. She was a charter member of Maplewood Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her children, Phillip (Carolyn Perkins) Graham, Jim (Una Combs) Graham, and Lynn Graham Winters, all of Yadkinville; two sisters, Jerry Hudspeth of Yadkinville and Nellie Grey Foster of Atlanta ; six grandchildren, David, Jason, Tammy, and Heather Graham, and Graham and Myra Winters; seven nieces and nephews, who loved Martha Lee very much; and a special thanks to the ladies who were her daily caregivers.
