Commander, j.g., in the Navy during World War II, elected to Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities, elected to Albany, Ga., athletic Hall of Fame and officiated for ACC football games for 35 years, active member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, senior warden, superintendent of Sunday school, member of Gastonia Rotary Club, retired mechanical engineer for Cocker Machine and Foundry, chief engineer and co-owner of Cleo Screws Heating and Air-Conditioning, retired as president of Sun-drop Bottling Co.
