GASTONIA — Frankie Irene Beeson Roux, 81, Courtland Terrace, died July 8, 1999, at home.
She was a native of Guilford County, daughter of the late W.R. and Annie Ward Beeson, wife of the late Willard Darrell Roux, member of First United Methodist Church, director of nurses, student health services, Southern Illinois University, retired registered nurse, served as 1st Lt. Army Nurse Corps. She and her husand were the second couple to serve in the European Theater during World War II.

He was a native of Yonkers, N.Y., son of the late Rose Florchzk and William Henry Bennett, husband of the late Ursula Agnes Walsh Bennett, member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, attended St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Pittsburgh, former band leader in the Catskill Mountains, resided in the Bronx, N.Y., for 10 years, where he worked in carpet manufacturing, retired as regional supervisor for Phelps Dodge Co., Pittsburgh, World War II Army veteran, when he worked as a cryptographer in Italy.
