He was a native of Huntersville, son of the late Thomas Alexander and Lula Brown Little, husband for 67 years to the late Rebecca Little, brother of the late Jennings, Dale and Paul Jacob and Sara Lee Little, supervisor of machine shop at Firestone Mill, member of Lutheran Chapel Church and served on church council, former member of West End Methodist Church (now Covenant Methodist Church) and served on board of stewards, chairman of building committee, co-director with his late wife of the choir, leader of a scout troop, member of Gastonia Masonic Lodge #369, where he received a 50-year pin in 1997, won a county-wide music contest in grade school playing the harmonica.

Ferrell, mother of the late Maurice "Bo" Ferrell, sister of the late Reid Pruett and Mildred Vance, member of Asbury United Methodist Church, member of the United Methodist Women’s Organization, charter member of the Ladies Aid organized at Asbury in 1926, president of The Women’s Society of Christian Service from 1962-66, honored as Asbury’s first Woman of the Year in 1992, pianist at Asbury, music leader for Vacation Bible School for several years, Sunday School teacher of the junior class and later teacher of the Faith Bible class, honored as mother of the year by the Central Charlotte Association in 1969, chosen as 1996 Huntersville Woman of the Year, charter member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at Huntersville Oaks Nursing Home holding various offices including vice president and received her 30-year service pin, former vice president of the Croft Home Extension Club
