Edward "Eddie" Hyleman, who died in active duty in the Vietman War, U.S. Navy veteran, served in the Navy 24 years, attained rank of chief petty officer, received Europen Occupation Medal, the 20 Years Good Conduct Medal, second award of National Defense Medal, retired as supervisor from Duke Power after 15 years of service, member of West Fifth Avenue Freewill Baptist Church, served on deacon’s board, member of Men’s Bible Class and Carolina Cruisers of Bessemer City.
