CLOVER, S.C. - Katie Edmunds Bodie, 88, 413 Knox St., died Jan. 11, 2000, in Rock Hill, S.C. She was a native of Walhalla, S.C., daughter of the late Wesley Jennings and Kate Duncan Edmunds, graduate of Winthrop College, taught Latin and English in Clover schools for 20 years before retiring, member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society of Professional Educators, York County Education Association, South Carolina Education Association and National Education Association, served as a member of the council of delegates of SCEA, served many years as sponsor of the senior class of Clover High School, had the school yearbook dedicated to her on several occasions, named "Star Teacher" three times, named Outstanding South Carolina Teacher the year before her retirement by the state Department of Education, served as president of the Parent-Teacher Association, program chairwoman of the Clover Woman’s Club, superintendent of the adult division of First United Methodist Church, teacher of ladies’ Bible class, held various offices in United Methodist Women, had poems published in church and education magazines and modern anthologies.
