She was a native of Gaston County, wife of the late Earl S. Smith, daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth Corn Huggins, sister of the late Ernest, Charles and Alvin Huggins, member of Calvary Baptist Church for more than 46 years, where she was honored for 32 years of perfect attendance, member of ladies’ Sunday school class, where she served as an outreach leader, member of Women’s Missionary Union and praise choir, attended Belmont schools, former cashier in Wix Corp. cafeteria, former employee of Eagle’s five-and-dime store.
