She was a native of Miami, Fla., daughter of the late John R. and Gay Cherry Cabell, graduate of Boyden High School, attended Catawba College, WMU Training School, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Ky., served churches with her husband in Salisbury, Southern Pines, Forest City and First Baptist Church of Lexington for 27 years, a Women’s Missionary Union Group was named in her honor at First Baptist Church.
