He was a native of Gaston County, lived his early life in Belmont, worked in broadcasting for 25 years, managed and owned radio stations, developed Carolina School of Broadcasting in Greenville in the 1970s which he operated for many years, operated Gardner’s Discount Outlet for the past five years, member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
