CHARLOTTE - Harold Warren Beaver, 79, died March 7, 2000, at Presbyterian Hospital’s Belk Heart Center. He was a native of Cabarrus County, son of the late John A. and Florence Eagle Beaver, Navy veteran of World War II, served from 1943-1946 in the Pacific, Russia and China Sea, graduated from Appalachian State University, received masters in education administration in 1952, taught at Oakhurst High School, principal at Hickory Grove School from 1954-1956, opened Cotswold School and retired in 1980, member of St. John’s United Methodist Church, served on boards and committees for 53 years, taught Sunday school for 25 years, active member of American Legion Post 400, member of Joppa Lodge 530 AF&AM, Scottish Rite Bodies, Oasis Temple of the Shrine, served on board of directors of Pfeiffer College, alumni president, active for many years in educational associations, including Southeastern Principals’ Association, N.C. Principals’ Association, State and National Education Associations, active resident with his wife of Aldersgate Methodist Home for 10 years.
