She was a native of Gaston County, wife of the late Hoover Carpenter, daughter of the late Thomas E. and Maggie Carpenter Plonk, mother of the late Rachael Carpenter Fralick, homemaker, member of Landers Chapel Methodist Church.

She was a native of Ducktown, Tenn., daughter of the late Minnie Queen and James Archie Waldrop, mother of late twin sons, sister of the late Verlie and Oscoe Waldrop, mother-in-law of the late Carl H. Venable, wife of the late Fred A. Herring, Will Kennedy and James Christenbury, member of Degree of Pocahontas, Improved Order of Redmen since 1947, honored member of the N.C. State Hall of Fame, served in various leadership positions, initiator and first chairwoman of the Aid to Indian Development for three years, former member of the Civil Air Patrol during World War II, member of VFW Auxiliary, Mount Holly, licensed cosmetologist, owned her own beauty shop in Mount Holly for 40 years, member of Broad Street United Methodist Church, Clinton, former member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Charlotte, Gastonia and Laurens and First Baptist Church, Mount Holly.

He was a native of Atlanta, Ga., son of the late Dewey Anderson Sr. and Angie Evelyn Watts White, attended schools in Birmingham, Ala., graduated from University of Alabama Medical School, began his practice of urology in Gastonia in 1964 at Gaston Urological Associates, retired in 1991.
