She was a native of Hamlet, daughter of the late Verla Adelaide Benton and Thomas Pressley Wells, wife of the late Robert William "Bob" Cashion, sister of the late Benton Pressley Wells, attended Coker College and University of South Carolina, lived most of her life in Hamlet, employed by U.S. Department of the Treasury, Raleigh, office manager for Swink-Quality Oil Company for 27 years, retired in 1985, member of First Presbyterian Church of Hamlet, active in circles of Presbyterian Women, member of Entre Nous Book Club.

She was a native of Gaston County, daughter of the late Willis D. and Sophia Sawyer Davis, step-daughter of the late Minnie Stiles Davis, wife of the late Elisha J. Elliott and Howard C. Robinson, sister of the late Rev. Mitchell W. Davis, member of First Free Will Baptist Church for over 60 years, choir member for over 50 years, active in Sunday school, serving as teacher in youth, young adult and senior adult classes and held other offices in the Sunday school department, charter member of the Golden Age Club where she served as president for over 20 years, active in Women Active for Christ, sang in church quartets and trios, the namesake of the Hattie Robinson Woman of the Year award, as she was the first woman to recive the honors, retired from textiles, worked in Turbeville, S.C., at the Free Will Baptist Children’s Home.
