Babington, attended Belmont Abbey College, graduate of UNC Chapel Hill, lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church, where he served as elder, deacon, auditor and treasurer for 30 years, certified public accountant, former employee of Haskins and Sells, Charlotte, senior vice president of finance with Pharr Yarns for 30 years, member of the Civitan Club, former lieutenant junior grade in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
