He was a native of Belmont, son of the late William Thomas and Beulah Whitaker Greene Sr., husband of the late Pauline Elizabeth Propst Greene, charter member of the Unity Baptist Church, where he served as a Sunday school teacher and bible school teacher, worked for 26 years as a fixer for Vision Hosiery, retired as a parts rebuilder from Trane Inc., Charlotte, after 15 years, Air Force veteran, active firefighter for Catawba Heights Volunteer Fire Department for 16 years.
