LINCOLNTON Ransom Arthur Carpenter, 70, 1915 N. Aspen St., died July 22, 2000.
He was a native of Lincoln County, son of the late Arthur Lee Carpenter, veteran of the Air Force where he served six years, active duty as military police for the 1611th Air Police Squadron at McGuire AFB in Trenton, N.J., and Tullen AFB in Vienna, Austria, honorably discharged in 1954 with two Battle Stars on Korean SV Medal and a National Defense Medal, graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne College, worked as a CPA for Mauney Hosiery Mills, Inc. in Kings Mountain for 30 years, served at Mauney Hosiery as treasurer and controller, member of the Board of Directors following retirement in 1995, founder and part-owner of C & K Gun Sales and Pawn in Lincolnton.
