State University, Raleigh, retired from Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System after 40 years in the educational field, lived in Derita Community from 1956 to 1994, at the Methodist Home in Charlotte since 1995, held office in local chapters of North Carolina Education Association, former member of Kiwanis Club, former Mason, charter member of Derita Lions Club, longtime member of Cole Memorial United Methodist Church, active in church and community, Sunday school teacher.
